Don't Fall For Me, CEO
Chapter 798: His Concern
CHAPTER 798: CHAPTER 798: HIS CONCERN
"Yeah, are you so happy you want to set off firecrackers? Go ahead, I won’t hit you."
July Quinn tried to break free from Roman Kidd’s grip and continue drinking.
But Roman Kidd held her wrist firmly, his eyes fixed on her.
She broke up with Kyle Keaton, giving Bianca White an opportunity to rise, which certainly aligns with his interests. He should be happy.
But seeing the subtle redness in her beautiful eyes, he felt as if he smelled something burning.
Upon closer inspection, he realized it was his own heart, as if placed on a grill scorching continuously.
Why he felt this burning anxiety for July Quinn, Roman Kidd couldn’t figure out.
Yet the concerned words slipped out unknowingly: "July Quinn, drinking is harmful to your health..."
"It’s hurting me, not you. Why are you worrying for nothing?"
Uncertain if it was July Quinn’s foul language, the attendant’s expression turned a bit unnatural.
Roman Kidd quickly caught onto this, coldly scolding: "Wait outside."
"Yes, sir."
With the attendant gone, only the two of them remained on this side of the booth.
Roman Kidd then sat down on the opposite side of the booth.
"July Quinn, there’s something I want to talk to you about."
He realized his previous concern for July Quinn was inexplicable, so he decided to speak frankly.
"After saying so much, aren’t you still just trying to get that?"
Roman Kidd was slightly puzzled by what July Quinn meant, suddenly having a box of instant noodles stuffed into his hand.
Roman Kidd’s lips twitched.
Could she think that he intentionally came to the bar just to compete for a box of instant noodles again?
"The instant noodles are yours; I don’t want to fight today."
Roman Kidd: "..."
Indeed.
"I didn’t come for instant noodles today; I’m here to invite you to join the Blaze Squad."
Roman Kidd placed the instant noodles on the table.
"Blaze Squad?" July Quinn squinted slightly. She had heard of the Blaze Squad’s supreme judgment authority in the country.
"...There’s only one new member position added each year, and once joined, you have access to unimaginable privileges for ordinary people."
Roman Kidd assumed July Quinn was unfamiliar with what the Blaze Squad represented in the country, so he explained it to her in detail.
"Sounds quite amazing."
July Quinn’s words made Roman Kidd think she was about to agree.
But then she suddenly added: "But I’m not interested!"
Roman Kidd was slightly startled.
This was the first time he personally invited someone to join the Blaze Squad and got rejected.
Unwilling to back down, Roman Kidd tried to persuade her in various ways: "July Quinn, joining the Blaze Squad changes your status; even Kyle Keaton would have to look at you differently..."
"That opportunity is better left for your cousin."
July Quinn wasn’t in the mood to converse with Roman Kidd any longer and just left with the instant noodles.
Seeing July Quinn leave, the attendant hurried back to Roman Kidd’s side.
"Sir, July Quinn should have agreed, right? I’ll draft the contract now for her to review tomorrow?"
Having been by the sir’s side for so many years, he had never seen anyone able to resist such a tempting offer of power.
Unexpectedly, Roman Kidd’s reply was: "She didn’t agree."
"This..." The attendant was dumbfounded.
Could someone really refuse?
"But I’ll still find a chance to persuade her."
Roman Kidd gazed at the back of July Quinn as she left, his eyes burning slightly.
