CHAPTER 814: CHAPTER 814: SHIFTING THE BLAME

Although Simon Hale was certain he had made arrangements, when he met July Quinn’s alluring eyes, his confidence suddenly wavered.

He hurried frantically to the bedside of "Mrs. Vance," brushing aside the hair stuck to the barely conscious person’s face.

But at the moment that familiar face came into view, Simon Hale’s emotions collapsed on the spot.

"Rhonda!"

What in the world is going on?

Why was it not Mrs. Vance, who Rhonda complained had bullied her, tied to the bed, but Rhonda herself?

Did that mean the injection he just gave, which could cause a myocardial infarction, was actually on his Rhonda?

"No..."

Simon immediately tore away the rag that was blocking Rhonda Hale’s mouth.

But even so, Rhonda still looked like she couldn’t breathe, gasping desperately, on the brink of death.

Just watching made Simon Hale burst into tears.

He couldn’t let Rhonda die, she was his most beloved daughter.

He was willing to stake his entire fortune, even his life, to protect her.

"Rhonda, don’t be afraid, Daddy will take you to the hospital now! You’ll be fine, sweetie!"

He desperately comforted Rhonda, but his frantic attempts to forcibly pull apart the chains binding her limbs betrayed certain truths.

His strength alone couldn’t open the chains, so he turned to July Quinn and roared.

"July Quinn, get someone to open this damned thing, I need to get Rhonda to the hospital."

"But didn’t you just guarantee that even if the prison guards found out now and sent the person to the hospital, it would be of no avail?"

July Quinn still stood outside the cell door, looking on as if she were a bystander, her emotions unruffled as she watched the scene unfold.

"I don’t care, I need to take Rhonda to the hospital now. If you don’t help me, I’ll accuse you of standing idly by and ruining your reputation..."

Simon Hale’s face was soaked in tears and mucus.

Even though he knew that because of the needle he administered, no one could save Rhonda, he truly couldn’t just watch her die.

She was the person he cherished most in his life.

"Then go ahead and accuse, I don’t care." July Quinn remained unfazed, coolly observing everything.

"July Quinn, why don’t you help Rhonda with an acupuncture treatment? Your medical skills are extraordinary, you can surely save her."

Watching Rhonda’s breath grow progressively weaker, Simon Hale humbly knelt before July Quinn.

"I’m begging you, as long as you save Rhonda, I’ll agree to whatever you want, even if it means my life."

In the face of his daughter’s life and death, Simon Hale suddenly felt like nothing else mattered, not even his pride.

So, he desperately kowtowed to July Quinn, hoping she would save Rhonda’s life.

But even so, July Quinn’s response was exactly what he didn’t want to hear:

"I watched that acupuncture technique earlier, and you left no room for a turnaround; it’s completely irretrievable, which you should understand very well."

Hearing July Quinn say this, Simon Hale felt his world collapse.

If even July Quinn couldn’t reverse this, then his Rhonda was most likely...

Sorrow and despair overwhelmed him like a tidal wave.

He was in agonizing pain, hysterically screaming at July Quinn: "If that’s the case, then why didn’t you warn me earlier, that was my Rhonda."

If he had known it was Rhonda, he certainly wouldn’t have done it.

So, all of this was blamed on July Quinn, who witnessed everything yet didn’t say a word to warn him.
