Don't Fall For Me, CEO
Chapter 88: My Son-in-Law!
CHAPTER 88: CHAPTER 88: MY SON-IN-LAW!
Due to the overwhelming shock, Charles Quinn’s voice was a bit loud for a moment.
As a result, the people nearby roughly heard what he said and started discussing.
"President Keaton of the Regalscape Group? Holy crap, I think I just found out an incredible secret."
"Didn’t Master Jacobs just say he was only an assistant? How come he suddenly turned into the mysterious boss of the new powerhouse in Westmarch, Regalscape Group?"
"My husband is a shareholder of The Jacobs Group, and I heard that Mr. Jacobs is always agreeable in front of Assistant Keaton. It’s said that when Master Jacobs made things difficult for Assistant Keaton before, Mr. Jacobs dismissed him without a word. I used to think Mr. Jacobs was acting a bit strange, but now it seems he definitely knows what he’s doing!"
"I wasn’t wrong just now. This man is definitely a dragon among men. You guys always said he’s just a mere assistant, and now look who’s embarrassed!"
Some people were having an enthusiastic discussion, while others couldn’t wait to step forward and connect with Kyle Keaton.
"Hello, hello, President Keaton. I am President Chase from Legacy Group. Our company previously contracted the security system for yours, I..."
"President Keaton, a pleasure to meet you. I am Morin from Stellaron Group. Even though we currently have no partnership with your esteemed company, meeting you here today is a tremendous honor for me, Morin."
Others raised their glasses to offer a toast.
But to the admiration and flattery from these people, Kyle Keaton only occasionally responded, not paying much attention and certainly not engaging in polite chitchat.
It seemed as though everything was entirely natural for him, as if he was born more noble than others, so he was used to being thanked and flattered in such a way.
At this point, July Quinn was still a bit bewildered, maintaining her posture of standing in front of Kyle Keaton to protect him.
As for Kyle Keaton, he quietly took her hand when no one was watching.
It was as if he was telling her not to be so tense, that they wouldn’t be kicked out.
His palm was dry and warm, with calloused fingertips.
Holding it felt very comfortable, as if there was a layer of armor outside, protecting her from harm, giving her peace of mind.
This made July Quinn unconsciously squeeze his hand back, then she quietly looked up to glimpse his profile.
Just then, Kyle Keaton lowered his head.
Their gazes met unexpectedly.
"What’s wrong?" He looked at her, exuding an extraordinarily arresting aura.
"Nothing."
July Quinn responded so verbally, but felt like a dizzy little deer in her heart, causing trouble again...
"If it’s nothing, just stay quiet. I’ll handle some things."
After reminding her, he continued to socialize with those people.
But he did not release her hand, holding it firmly.
July Quinn didn’t struggle, just let her "husband by convenience" hold her hand, with a smile at the corner of her lips that even she didn’t notice.
On the other side...
"Dad, what’s going on? Who is President Keaton?"
Nina Quinn was puzzled as to how people were crowding around July Quinn and Kyle Keaton, as if they were the main characters of the banquet.
"Nina, you aren’t aware that Regalscape Group is the new powerhouse in Westmarch, and their president is quite mysterious. But I never expected this mysterious president to be my son-in-law."
Seeing Kyle Keaton surrounded tightly, Charles Quinn had no time to explain to Nina Quinn.
"I’ll talk to you about this after I get home. I need to go speak with my son-in-law first."
Dropping these words, Charles Quinn also hurriedly squeezed into the crowd.
"Son-in-law! Look at me, look at me! I am July’s father, I..."
His tone was full of excitement, his demeanor surprisingly obsequious!
But no matter how he behaved, he was still drowned in the crowd.
"Brother Nathan, what’s going on?"
Nina Quinn watched as her father seemed to have changed into a different person, desperately trying to curry favor but could only seek help from Nathan Jacobs.
But she saw Nathan Jacobs also staring intently in the direction of Kyle Keaton and July Quinn, his eyes filled with frustration, regret, and a hint of self-reproach.
All in all, he was extremely conflicted!
At this moment, from not far, came the voice of Miles Jacobs.
"Apologies, apologies, I was late because of overtime..."
