Doomsday Chat Group: Conquering the Multiverse Heroines
Chapter 301 301: Limitless · God
In truth, Ren's important business was not yet finished. He was simply using Gene Control to research his own genes, a process which did not hinder his body's movements. So he could still accelerate and then maintain a constant speed.
This time, he was seriously optimizing his own genetics.
Unlike creating Kushina's Sharingan or Wood Release, which he could handle easily, optimizing his own genes was an all-encompassing task.
First, he needed to find the optimal segments from all Kekkei Genkai and attempt to fuse them. Before that, he had to ensure his body could perfectly accept these genetic fragments.
The genetic sequence obtained from Kaguya was the best foundation. Her unique physique and strange Kekkei Genkai could both be used for further optimization. During their "interaction," his weapon had also fully acquired Kaguya's genes, allowing for simple replication.
Subsequently, he began the process.
Akame felt Ren enter a stable period of consistently fast speed. After about fifty minutes, this period showed a slight slowdown, then suddenly accelerated again.
Another ten minutes passed.
Goal achieved. Genetic optimization complete.
Ren's eyes shone brightly; he felt a new power surging within his body. With a sudden realization, he opened his personal information in the Doomsday Chat Group.
He found a new ability in the S-rank section.
S-rank: Limitless God (Lv7)
"???"
Ren paused, causing Akame to look back at him. I actually created an S-rank Lv7 ability myself?
Hiss!
Ren was excited. All he did was select the most suitable genetic segments from Kaguya's, optimize them, and integrate them into himself.
Kaguya's genes contained the foundation of almost all Kekkei Genkai. He then selected all other Kekkei Genkai that differed from hers, again choosing the best and transforming his own genes in the most perfect way.
Finally, combined with his physique, which had been intensely strengthened by Primal Energy, the powerful combination created a new ability.
Or rather, a physique named Limitless God.
The specific effects would need to be tested later. For now, he should focus on the present.
"Hmm?"
Akame blinked her burgundy eyes in confusion, feeling that Ren had suddenly become cautious.
In reality, this was a deliberate action. He was afraid his suddenly strengthened and evolving physique might lose control of its power. If he couldn't control the power that could easily smash planets, Akame might explode into a molecular mist.
Fortunately, after gradually increasing his power and speed, Ren did not lose control. He could still perfectly manage his body's strength.
Then, there were no more concerns.
Early Saturday morning, Ren left Akame's home. He originally hadn't wanted to get up, but someone had sent him a message.
Kasumigaoka Utaha.
This was quite unexpected. Her purpose was to invite him for coffee.
Ren didn't think it was as simple as just coffee; she probably had something to say. But the real reason that drove him to abandon the two delicate bodies was the location she had sent.
A coffee shop named "Anteiku."
It couldn't be such a coincidence, could it? Ren thought. He instantly moved to the designated location.
No one noticed his sudden appearance. He looked up and saw that the shop door indeed read "Anteiku."
He pushed open the door.
Ding-a-ling!
"Welcome, sir. What would you like to drink?"
Walking towards him was a young girl with blue-purple short hair, wearing a coffee shop waitress apron over a pleated skirt.
Ren casually glanced at her, then at the interior of the shop. He already understood. There were four Ghouls here.
He made no move but simply said, "Latte." Then he walked on his own to a table where a girl in a black knee-length skirt and stockings was sitting. It was the dazed Kasumigaoka Utaha.
"Alright, sir. Please wait a moment," the blue-purple-haired girl said, frowning slightly before she left.
Ren calmly sat opposite Utaha and gently tapped the table. "Utaha-san, what do you need me for?"
His words interrupted her daze. "Ren-kun! When did you arrive?" she asked, startled. She had just sent the message.
"Instantaneous movement," Ren said leisurely.
"Eh!" Utaha shrank back and looked around. There were other people here; was it really okay to say that so casually?
"Don't worry, others can't hear us."
"However, the place you chose is really unique." Ren's words had a hidden meaning. A coffee shop run by man-eating Ghouls was indeed special.
"The coffee at this shop is very good. My editor and I often come here," Utaha said with a smile.
"Uh-huh, very good," Ren just nodded. "Tell me, what do you want to talk about?" He leaned back and let out a lazy yawn. "Don't tell me it's as simple as just having coffee."
"No..." Utaha smiled bitterly and shook her head. "Suddenly, I'm a bit afraid to say it."
"Why?" Ren asked curiously.
"Because I realized that the problem I'm struggling with might just be a waste of your time..."
He was a world-saving psychic. Her own struggles seemed trivial in comparison. The disparity in their identities made her feel a slight bitterness. What was once a simple junior-senior relationship had become a gap as vast as heaven and earth. The courage she had mustered vanished the moment she learned he had teleported here.
"Oh? Have you changed your personality?" Ren chuckled. "Do you remember the first time you added me as a friend? It took me a long time to accept, and you gave me a harsh tongue-lashing."
Mentioning the embarrassing past, Utaha's face flushed. She took a sip of coffee, then swept her hair back and said sincerely, "I wasn't mature enough back then. I'm truly sorry."
Ren waved his hand. "I'm not saying this to make you apologize."
"Just say what you need to say. I don't like beating around the bush."
"..."
Pursing her thin lips, Utaha reached into her shoulder bag and pulled out a few sheets of paper covered with dense text. She placed them in front of Ren.
"This is my new novel, the second part of The Metronome in Love. I hope Ren-kun can critique it as you did before."
Kasumigaoka Utaha sat up straight, nervous that he might refuse.
She was overthinking it. Precisely because he was so bored, he had the leisure for such things.
"Alright, let me see," Ren said simply, then began to read.
That's great! Seeing this, Utaha finally relaxed.
