Possessing a Dragon Knight was the very foundation upon which a great family could thrive and maintain its status for generations.

Even families that were not of the Dragon Clan would hold a higher rank than the Huang House if they had a Dragon Knight of their own.

This helped Lan Xuanyu understand why, upon discovering that Bai Xiuxiu was a wild-born Higher Dragon with dual attributes, Huang Yuanlang had gone to such lengths to court her favor at the auction—showing clear interest in her without trying to force her hand.

It was obvious that, compared to Bai Xiuxiu, the members of their own family were far less likely to become Dragon Knights.

Through casual conversation, Lan Xuanyu also learned that among the sixteen main cities of Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet, Fenglong City was the farthest from Dragon City, the poorest, and the smallest—a direct consequence of the Huang House lacking a Dragon Knight of their own. In the Dragon-Horse Galaxy, strength reigned supreme.

Huang Yuanlang had already been cultivating with great effort, yet his chances of becoming a Dragon Knight remained exceedingly slim.

During his conversation with Bai Xiuxiu, Huang Daoqi hinted, more than once, that she should strive toward the path of becoming a Dragon Knight.

This eased Lan Xuanyu’s mind somewhat. If the Huang House had something they sought from them, they would be less inclined to scrutinize their identities too closely—a clear advantage for their mission.

“Come, let us go to the Dragonforce Hall,” Huang Daoqi said with a smile to Bai Xiuxiu. “There’s no need to feel pressured—this is simply to assess your abilities so the family can offer you the proper support.”

“Alright,” Bai Xiuxiu replied with a nod, rising to follow him.

Surrounded by the royal entourage, they made their way to the rear of the City Lord’s Mansion.

Lan Xuanyu and his companions were politely stopped outside a towering archway, ten meters high, by Elaysion. Not only them—every servant was left outside as well. Only members of the Huang House and Bai Xiuxiu entered.

The massive gate closed behind them. Yuanen Huihui instinctively glanced toward Lan Xuanyu, who gave a slight shake of his head, sinking his consciousness into his spiritual sea to maintain contact with Treasure Seeking Beast. If anything went wrong, he would act instantly.

Bai Xiuxiu looked around the unfamiliar space—a vast hall, its floor etched with intricate magic patterns. She could distinctly sense a strange energy here, not pure life force. There was something else in it—something that felt oddly familiar, stirring even her bloodline.

The structure was octagonal. Inside, from the floor to the walls, from the walls to the domed ceiling, every surface was covered in complex runes. At the center of the ceiling hung a massive crystal, three meters in diameter, pale yellow in hue, radiating a gentle glow that bathed the Dragonforce Hall in soft light.

Bai Xiuxiu keenly noticed that once the Huang Family members stepped inside, their smiles vanished. Their expressions became solemn—tinged with reverence.

“Xiuxiu,” Huang Daoqi said, “the Dragonforce Hall can be considered the heart of our family—indeed, the very heart of Fenglong City itself. On Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet, only the sixteen main cities are permitted to have such a hall.”

Bai Xiuxiu furrowed her brow. “The energy here feels familiar… yet strange. What exactly is the Dragonforce Hall for?”

“You are already one of the Higher Dragons,” Huang Daoqi replied. “Tell me, what was your original form? Even among us Higher Dragons, all of us emerged through the process of Dragonification.”

“I was likely a large aquatic creature,” Bai Xiuxiu said naturally—an explanation she and Lan Xuanyu had prepared in advance. Her martial soul had transformed from a Demon Soul Great White Shark into an Abyssal Frost Demon Dragon—a process remarkably similar to the Dragonification of Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet’s various races.

As expected, Huang Daoqi showed no suspicion. “That must be why you are close to the Blue Sea Clan,” he said with a smile.

Bai Xiuxiu nodded.

“In that case, you should know,” Huang Daoqi continued, “that Dragonification occurs because of a certain special energy we absorb. For us Celestial Dragons, we were originally Celestial Steed, which is why our final form is that of a Dragon-Horse. In truth, the Dragon-Horse form is the result of an incomplete Dragonification.”

“Incomplete?” Bai Xiuxiu asked in surprise.

“After years of study,” Huang Daoqi explained, “we have found that the weaker a species is, the more thorough its transformation tends to be—its original form is almost completely altered. Many Higher Dragons were born this way. Our Celestial Dragon Clan’s transformation was incomplete because the Celestial Steed race was already strong; after the transformation, we became even stronger. Even so, there are great disparities in strength within our clan. Our Huang House, for example—our transformation favored reproductive ability. Normally, having even one offspring is rare for us, yet I have six children. Most of them inherited my gift for reproduction. This is not what we would prefer. Reproduction is important, but without strength, numbers alone mean little.

“Now, as for the Dragonforce Hall… I believe you’ve wondered where Dragonification truly originates. It began with the arrival of a special dimensional plane, which brought with it a unique energy we call Dragonforce. This Dragonforce scattered across Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet and was absorbed by various species, triggering their transformation. Later, we came to control this plane. Its Dragonforce still exists, though no longer as abundant as when it first appeared. If this energy were to be absorbed by ordinary races, it could cause transformation but would not produce true powerhouses. Therefore, our Head used great power to seal the Dragonforce, allowing only our Celestial Dragon Clan and powerful Higher Dragons to absorb it for cultivation and advancement. That is the true purpose of the Dragonforce Hall—it channels Dragonforce for our training.”

While she listened, Bai Xiuxiu understood—and could not help but be shocked. This was undoubtedly one of Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet’s greatest secrets.

Lan Xuanyu, too, was stunned. Though heavily interfered with outside, he could still hear Huang Daoqi’s words through the Treasure Seeking Beast’s spiritual sense. The energy within the Dragonforce Hall felt strikingly similar to what he had sensed above Dragon City—when something there seemed to beckon him.

Could this small space that held Dragonforce be linked to that presence above Dragon City? If so, that pocket dimension might be the very source of Dragonforce.

If he had sensed danger then, it was likely because Dragon Knights were inside that space—and each of them could easily kill him.

This revelation was of immense importance—one of Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet’s deepest secrets. The fact that Huang Daoqi shared it with Bai Xiuxiu meant that, for now at least, he harbored no suspicion toward her.

Inside the hall, Huang Daoqi went on, “However, different dragon races absorb Dragonforce at different rates and wield it differently. The more thorough the transformation, the easier it is to absorb. In fact, our Celestial Dragon Clan wields Dragonforce less effectively than some fully transformed dragon races—even the Head is no exception. This is why non-Celestial Dragon Dragon Knights have been allowed to exist.”
