Metal element control?

Lan Xuanyu immediately noticed that the scales sprouting along the Lower Dragon’s wings were formed entirely from condensed metal elements. They layered themselves over the membranes of its wings, causing them to enlarge.

Lan Xuanyu accelerated as well, the two dragons—one ahead, one behind—swiftly leaving the boundaries of Xiaoyun City and heading toward the outskirts.

Once they were outside the city, Lan Xuanyu deliberately slowed down, allowing the other dragon to draw closer and closer.

Seeing that it was about to catch up, the Lower Dragon surged forward again. Its wings thundered as massive amounts of metal elements gathered around it. Its body swelled, hardened, then lunged straight at Lan Xuanyu.

A vast shadow opened above him. Lan Xuanyu pulled in his wings and, feigning panic, dove sharply downward.

“If you’ve got guts, don’t run!”

The Lower Dragon, delighted by its quarry’s “fear,” dove straight down, bearing down on him like a mountain dropping from the sky.

But at that very instant, Lan Xuanyu changed.

His body suddenly shrank. Like a streak of light, he shot downward at a sharp angle and tore into the forest canopy below.

The Lower Dragon froze mid-air.

Dragon abilities came in all forms. During the Dragonification process, a “pseudodragon” evolved from countless different species, resulting in abilities that rarely matched even within the same rank. Their powers were always related to whatever their original bodies had been before transforming.

Body shrinking? What kind of ability is that?

By now, the phantasmic drink’s effects were rapidly fading. Dragon-type beings possessed high intelligence, and this one sensed that something was wrong. It beat its wings to hover.

Fighting with one of its own kind held no real meaning. Snorting coldly, it had no intention of chasing further.

“You got lucky. Don’t let me see you again!”

It spat out a threat and prepared to return. After all—its own abilities were limited. Even among Lower Dragons, it was on the weaker side. Out here in the wilderness, if it got beaten up, it would be a loss for nothing.

But just then—

A sharp whistle pierced the sky.

Before it had time to react, an arrow appeared in front of it—almost out of thin air.

“Bang!”

The arrow slammed into its left wing. A wave of paralyzing numbness surged instantly across its body. Shocked, the dragon’s massive frame plummeted.

It desperately flapped its wings, trying to stabilize itself—but controlling such a body was nearly impossible now. It had already wrapped itself in metal elements earlier, enhancing both its offense and defense to the maximum—yet also making its body far heavier.

With no other choice, it folded its wings over itself and summoned metal elements once more to armor its body. At least it trusted its own defense; even if it fell from this height, the forest below would likely cushion the impact.

When it fell to about thirty meters above the ground, a huge figure suddenly leapt up from below—blurred, yet enormously powerful.

The Lower Dragon felt thick arms clamp around its neck. Using its falling momentum, the figure swung its entire body downward—

And smashed it brutally into the earth.

“BOOM—!”

A deep crater opened where it hit.

The dragon’s bones felt like they were coming apart—its very soul nearly shaken loose. Before it could recover, a weight crashed onto its back.

An icy, primal sense of danger surged through it.

It was a dragon, after all. Weak only in comparison to others of its kind. Instinctively, it curled inward, scales hardening into shield-like plates over its body.

Defense was its greatest strength. It didn’t know what attacked it—but the threat of death was unmistakable.

Yet the moment its scales solidified—

Its entire body felt as if it were disintegrating. Metal elements peeled away from it as though being stripped by force.

A deep blue silhouette plunged into the back of its neck. Scales, hide—nothing provided the slightest resistance.

A terrifying devouring force erupted.

Its body convulsed violently. It struggled with all its might, but the arms locking its neck were monstrously strong—radiating a presence that sent boiling fear through its blood.

Lan Xuanyu stood atop the dragon’s back. The Heavenly Sacred Abyssal Halberd was already buried in the creature’s neck. In that moment, the halberd turned crystalline, its internal light pulsing visibly.

“Mengqin—your turn.”

Lan Xuanyu called out toward Lan Mengqin not far away.

“All right.”

Lan Mengqin dropped into a seated position. She had witnessed Qian Lei attempt bloodline-burning tempering before and did not hesitate to ignite part of her own bloodline.

Though her physical body was not as robust as Qian Lei’s, the presence of the Emerald Swan meant her recovery abilities surpassed everyone else’s. And if anything went wrong, the Emerald Swan could intervene instantly.

Green flames rose along her body. She began with her right arm. In seconds, her arm turned transparent—light streaming visibly within it.

“Little Trea!”

Lan Xuanyu shouted.

The Treasure Seeking Beast shot out from his forehead like a streak.

Lan Xuanyu’s eyes suddenly turned a deep, oceanic blue.

In that instant, a terrifying aura erupted from his body. He seemed to transform into a black hole—devouring everything around him, even the surrounding light itself.

Qian Lei tightened his grip around the Lower Dragon’s neck, refusing to let it move an inch.

At this distance, Qian Lei was the closest to Lan Xuanyu.

He felt, with absolute clarity, just how terrifying that aura was—so overwhelming it made his heart tremble.

Fortunately, the feeling lasted only for a single moment.

The next second, Lan Xuanyu gripped the Heavenly Sacred Abyssal Halberd in his right hand and thrust his left palm toward the Treasure Seeking Beast. Immediately, a stream of gray-black energy surged out, shooting straight toward the little creature.

The Treasure Seeking Beast’s eyes flashed brilliantly.

It drew a circle with its small hands, and a white vortex appeared before it. The gray-black airflow plunged into the vortex and was instantly swallowed whole.

Beneath Lan Xuanyu’s feet, the Lower Dragon’s massive body began to shrivel, its struggles growing weaker and weaker.

The Treasure Seeking Beast’s eyes suddenly flared with intense light.

Its large gaze turned toward Lan Mengqin, and two beams of emerald light shot from its pupils, striking her body.

Lan Mengqin was shaking violently, her entire form trembling from the burning of her bloodline. The clothing on her right arm had already been completely incinerated.

As the emerald light poured into her, her body jolted violently.

The radiance on her right arm dimmed slightly. She felt as though a mighty flood was surging into her bloodline, merging seamlessly with her own energy.

The meridians, bones, and flesh that had been damaged by the burning were rapidly repairing themselves. The pain ebbed quickly—reduced to something she could withstand.

“Good.” Lan Mengqin nodded toward Lan Xuanyu.

Lan Xuanyu gave her a thumbs-up and continued the devouring process.

Although this Lower Dragon possessed energy on the level of an eight-ring Soul Douluo, it had consumed phantasmic drink, clearly lacked combat experience, and had not unleashed its full strength at any point during the fight.

It was no match for them at all.

Let alone when facing Lan Xuanyu—whose power rivaled a Title Douluo—together with Tang Yuge, whose metal attribute completely restrained it; Yuanen Huihui, a master of long-range attacks; and Qian Lei, whose strength was overwhelming.
