Douluo: I Just Made Everything Up
Chapter 367: Twin Worlds?
CHAPTER 367: CHAPTER 367: TWIN WORLDS?
Huo Yuhao and the others were currently on their journey to Shrek Academy. Their pace wasn’t particularly fast, since they had to take a long detour around the Star Dou Forest. The total distance was nearly a thousand li.
Along the way, Tang Ya and Bei Bei had been passing on the secret techniques of the Tang Sect to Huo Yuhao. Among them, the ones he grasped most deeply were Mysterious Heaven Skill and Purple Demon Eye. As for Controlling Crane Catching Dragon, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Step, and Mysterious Jade Hand, he had only scratched the surface.
At this moment, Huo Yuhao had just awoken from a bout of meditation. Faint white streams of air flowed around his nose and mouth. When he opened his eyes, a flash of golden light gleamed within his clear pupils—his Spirit Eyes seemed to have become even more penetrating and translucent.
"Mysterious Heaven Skill truly is a profound and mysterious cultivation technique!" Huo Yuhao couldn’t help but marvel as he felt the changes within himself over just a few short days. During this time, his soul power had completely transformed into the refined soul power generated by cultivating Mysterious Heaven Skill. And during the transformation process, his once chaotic and impure soul power had gradually become purer.
After each session of cultivation, his entire body felt warm and comfortable, an indescribable sense of well-being that was even more effective than sleep in terms of recovery. Although his total soul power hadn’t increased by much, the replacement with pure Mysterious Heaven Skill soul power significantly improved his bodily functions and the endurance of his energy. Such obvious progress had never occurred in his previous cultivation experience—how could he not be excited?
"Indeed. In a world where meditation hasn’t yet formed a complete system, Mysterious Heaven Skill could barely be considered ’profound’..."
A deep, ancient voice suddenly rang out.
The abrupt change startled Huo Yuhao so much that he nearly jumped out of his skin. "Who’s there?!"
Tang Ya and Bei Bei were off somewhere enjoying their alone time, and so his sudden shout didn’t draw any attention.
"Calm down."
"I’m in your mind," said that ancient, mysterious voice.
Before Huo Yuhao could react, his vision went black—and then, his entire consciousness faded away as he collapsed stiffly to the ground.
Thud!
He lay there on his back like a fallen statue. If not for the fact that he was still breathing, anyone would have thought he was dead.
...
When his vision returned, he found himself back in that familiar mental space—the same vast, white void with the brilliant sun shining in the sky above.
"Who are you?"
"Where’s Brother Tianmeng?"
Huo Yuhao looked around nervously. The sudden appearance of a strange voice in his head—one that could even drag his consciousness back into this inner world—was far too much to take in calmly.
"That bug exhausted too much power after sacrificing himself to you. He’s currently in a deep sleep. He’ll naturally awaken once you acquire your second soul ring."
"As for me? I’m nothing but a fragment of a lingering soul. It wouldn’t be strange if I faded away at any moment."
The voice sounded weary and old.
"A fragment of a soul?"
Huo Yuhao didn’t quite understand, but he decided to ask what he cared about most.
"Why are you in my spiritual sea?"
"Ah, now that’s a long story..."
The voice sighed, filled with emotion. "Telling it would take quite a while."
"Forget it. I’ll just show you some of my memories."
As soon as the words fell, the scenery around Huo Yuhao changed—from blinding white to a vivid, realistic world.
What followed—
Huo Yuhao, as a bystander, witnessed a grand and awe-inspiring world unfold before him.
That world was also called Douluo Continent—but it was the Douluo Continent from ten thousand years ago.
His point of view followed a young man named Ye Cheng, tracing the rise and fall of his legendary life.
From awakening twin martial souls as a child... to the destruction of his clan, wandering the world alone... to reaching nine rings and becoming a Limit Douluo!
From ascending to godhood... to the Abyss invasion...
And finally, the salvation of the world—perishing together with the Demon Lord!
By the end of it, Huo Yuhao was utterly stunned, his mind numb with shock.
Although much of what he saw was fragmented, made up of disconnected snippets without full context...
For someone like Huo Yuhao, who had lived a sheltered life, it was like the door to an entirely new world had been flung open.
Not only did it broaden his perspective, it also made him deeply aware of his own insignificance.
When the world around him once again reverted to that white, foggy space, he was still frozen, as if mentally trapped in the echo of Ye Cheng’s sweeping, epic journey...
No one knew how much time passed.
Eventually, Huo Yuhao snapped out of it, stammering, "Th-Those things I just saw... w-were they real?"
"Y-You really come from... ten thousand years ago?"
"No."
"To be precise, I come from another world," the voice calmly corrected him.
"Another world? But... then why is that place also called Douluo Continent? Why does it also have Spirit Hall, the Heaven Dou Empire, and the Star Luo Empire? And so many famous figures I’ve read about in history books? Everything looked exactly the same!"
Huo Yuhao was confused.
"How should I explain it..."
The voice sounded a little troubled. After thinking for a moment, it said, "You know how some twins look almost identical?"
"Yes," Huo Yuhao nodded honestly.
"The world I come from and your world are like a pair of twin siblings. On the surface, they look nearly the same—but in terms of fine details and historical developments, there are major differences."
"So while your world bears great similarities to mine—even to the point of having the same people and histories—there are still differences. For instance, your world does not have me in its timeline."
"Similarly, your world has not, up until now, experienced an Abyssal invasion. So although the two worlds share many parallels, they are not the same."
"Do you understand now?"
The voice asked.
"Twin worlds... so they look the same, but they’re not actually the same." Huo Yuhao nodded slowly. "I think I get it now."
"Good. A teachable child indeed," the voice replied with satisfaction.
"Then how did you end up crossing over from your world to mine?" Huo Yuhao followed up. "And how did you end up in me?"
"To be honest, I didn’t mean to come here either," the voice replied. "Just as you saw in those memories, I sacrificed myself to save the Douluo Continent, perishing together with the Demon Lord. But that final blow shattered space itself—and my soul fragment was swept into the chaotic flow of time and space."
"When I ended up in this world, my soul had already been torn into countless fragments. They scattered across this world."
"These fragments instinctively sought out hosts—and one just happened to attach itself to you."
"What you’re speaking with now is merely one sliver of my fragmented soul," the voice said, with a hint of sorrow.
