Dragon Ball: I Became Cell in a Doomed Future
Chapter 88 88: Is This Really Your First Time Using Cell's Body?
"Levos! Levos! Take it easy!" Ginyu yelped, clearly overwhelmed. "How are you so familiar with this body?!"
Hearing that, Levos's expression darkened. "Because you stole my body, and I got absorbed by this monster as a result!"
Sure, this was better than being a frog... but Levos would much rather be human.
It was all Ginyu's fault.
In his mind, androids were the true meta. Being some kind of bio-monster just felt... wrong.
With that thought, Levos's gaze shifted downward.
What the hell was that black groin guard thing?
His face immediately turned green.
Wait. His whole body was green now!
Only the outer exoskeleton was red.
And for some reason, his scalp felt unusually cold.
It wasn't just because he was bald. The real issue was that damned Dr. Gero had designed Cell Max with one fatal flaw:
That exposed crystal dome on his head.
If it shattered, he'd die instantly.
Thankfully, the thick armored crest around his head covered two-thirds of it.
And after evolving into his perfect form, the crystal's durability had increased considerably.
As he ran his hand over the smooth, slippery surface of his forehead, Levos suddenly understood how Mr. Satan must have felt all the time.
Ginyu, wisely, didn't press the issue. Instead, he quickly changed the subject. "By the way, Levos! Lord Frieza is reaching his limit!"
Levos sighed. Of course Ginyu would still be loyal, through and through.
To be fair, for all of Frieza's cruelty, ruthlessness, sadism, and tyranny... the guy did have a certain charisma.
Enough to inspire absolute devotion. Enough that some would willingly lay down their lives for him.
"Relax," Levos said calmly. "The Emperor's clever. He's been stalling and buying time. He can hold out for at least another hour."
At that moment, all the remaining fighters began to gather around Levos.
After all, he was now the bridge between Earth's warriors and Frieza's camp.
Everyone stared at him with strange expressions.
King Cold furrowed his brow. "Levos, it's like this body was tailor-made for you."
Piccolo added, "Even if it was just a moment... I could sense the energy of Goku, Vegeta, and others inside you."
"You're the strongest one among us right now!" Gohanks said in awe.
Levos let out a helpless smile. "Even so, I'm still not confident I can defeat Fusion Zamasu. And I definitely can't take on Rose Vegito."
"You're too modest!" Gokunks chimed in. "You've done amazingly already! And destroying their Senzu Beans? That was a huge win!"
Off to the side, Piccolo frowned.
Something didn't feel right.
For someone supposedly using Cell Max's body for the first time, Levos sure seemed... well-practiced. Like he had a whole combo set memorized.
Coincidence?
Levos, however, looked deeply concerned and explained to everyone, "Fusion Zamasu still hasn't revealed his healing abilities. The fight ahead will be brutal."
"That's true," Gokunks agreed. "Before they fused, Zamasu was an apprentice Supreme Kai from Universe 10. He had the ability to recover stamina!"
Piccolo looked up seriously at the hovering Rose Vegito and the fully restored Fusion Zamasu.
"Vegito's strength is unmatched, but our top priority should be eliminating Fusion Zamasu," he said sternly. "If we don't take him out now, he'll wear us down until we're finished."
"No! We can't!" Gokunks suddenly objected, a pained look on his face. "You haven't seen the despair from my timeline. You don't understand how terrifying Fusion Zamasu truly is! He's immortal!"
"What?!" Gohanks froze in shock, a flicker of despair in his eyes. "So... we can't beat Rose Vegito, and Fusion Zamasu can't die? Then there's no hope at all?!"
"Maybe... only Zeno-sama can erase Fusion Zamasu from existence," Gokunks muttered, his expression darkening at the memory.
"Zeno-sama?" King Cold blinked in confusion.
To him, the highest divine being he'd ever heard of was the God of Destruction, Beerus.
This was the first time anyone had mentioned Zeno.
The others were equally curious.
"So how do we get Zeno involved?" Piccolo asked, frowning.
"No! We can't reach that level of divinity," Gokunks said, lowering his voice, "and if Zeno acts, he'll erase everything, including this world."
Now clearly wasn't the time for a full-blown crash course on cosmic deities. Gokunks kept the explanation short, focusing only on Zamasu's threat.
Meanwhile, Levos remained silent, focusing on restoring his stamina while secretly communicating with King Kai, trying to confirm the identities of two recent Earth arrivals.
He didn't join the discussion he knew Gokunks would eventually explain their predicament clearly. When the time was right, he'd present his plan, and it wouldn't seem abrupt.
"Levos, no matter how you ask, I can't tell you who they really are," King Kai said gravely. "But whatever you do, stay away from those two!"
"King Kai, you not telling me only makes me more anxious," Levos grumbled. He had a vague guess already, but he hated unknown variables.
So, he tried a different approach. "What if I just ask yes or no questions?"
"…Fine. But I'll only answer three!"
"Is one of them a woman?"
"Yes."
"Is the other one a chubby purple cat-like guy?"
King Kai immediately snapped, "That's rude, Levos! I'm not answering that!"
Levos sighed. So even the mildest insults were off the table when it came to those people.
"…Does the woman have silver hair in a high ponytail and a tall figure?"
"…Yes. Wait, how do you know that?!"
Levos exhaled. "Because Merus from the Galactic Patrol once mentioned he had a beautiful older sister…"
"Oh! That explains it!" King Kai paused, then frowned. "But... sister? That can't be right."
He quickly concluded, "Then the one you're thinking of must not be the same as the woman who showed up on Earth."
"Right. I was mistaken," Levos replied, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
But deep inside, he had already confirmed their true identities.
And his once-nervous heart finally settled.
