CHAPTER 474: 190 SUBORDINATE MINISTER_3
"Commandery Princess...!" Gao Yuyue let out a heart-wrenching scream, one that jolted everyone awake. Then she shrieked, trembling all over, "Help! The Commandery Princess has fallen into the water!"
The others also played their parts, faces awash with panic.
Everything proceeded in an orderly fashion.
The Commandery Princess sank into the water, and was soon submerged by the lake. Tiny bubbles surfaced on the tranquil waters, the airtight lake like the gaping maw of a feral beast, silently devouring its prey.
That peerlessly beautiful woman disappeared beneath the waves just like that, crimson spreading, tragic and poignant.
From the wind came the sound of a flute, like a mournful elegy.
The boat was in chaos. The blue-clad beauty cried out "Commandery Princess!" before rushing to the bow and diving into the water without hesitation.
Cui Jie clicked his tongue in astonishment. What was with this girl?
When she was supposed to play the Commandery Princess, she refused to dive, but now that someone else was doing it, she was jumping with such gusto. Except, this part wasn’t in the script. With Director Huang’s notoriously nitpicky personality, they’d probably have to reshoot.
To everyone’s surprise, Director Huang actually seemed rather amused. However, for the sake of safety, filming had to be halted immediately.
Director Huang called for a stop.
The on-hand lifeguard hurried over to pull Gao Yuyue out, worried she might choke on water.
Gao Yuyue slapped the lifeguard’s hands away, "Don’t touch me."
"An’an, An’an, where are you? Come out quickly!" Gao Yuyue splashed around and shouted.
A girl emerged from the water, and in that moment, a single line of poetry flashed through Huang Chu’s mind:
"Lotus blooms from clear water, unadorned yet perfectly natural."
Gao Yuyue lit up with joy, "An’an, are you alright?"
"I’m fine." Shen You’an supported her as they swam towards the shore. Zhao Bingbing was already waiting at the edge with two blankets in hand. As soon as the two came ashore, they were wrapped tightly.
Zhao Bingbing stared at the girl in front of her with a dazed look. "You... you didn’t wear makeup?"
She was completely bare-faced.
And yet, even on camera, she looked absolutely stunning. What kind of skin was this?
Shen You’an and Gao Yuyue were ushered to the lounge while Huang Chu repeatedly reviewed the footage just captured. He then took out a flash drive, copied the clip onto it, and instructed his assistant, "Go bring Mr. Shi here. Tell her I have something important to discuss."
Shi Wen, the original author of *The Wandering Guest*, was also the screenwriter for this project.
Out of her deep commitment to the script, she’d been on set throughout filming, staying at a hotel near the production base. When she had free time during the day, she’d come to observe the actors’ performances. The rest of her time was spent holed up in her hotel room writing.
The assistant was just about to leave when Huang Chu stood up. "Forget it, I’ll go myself."
"Ajie."
Cui Jie quickly stepped forward, "Director."
"I don’t care what method you use, you have to make sure this actor stays. Before I get back, she cannot leave the set."
Cui Jie’s eyes darted back and forth. "Director, there’s something I need to report to you."
Huang Chu glanced at him, "Speak quickly."
"Earlier in the makeup room, Shen and Miss Sun had a conflict. I have a hunch Miss Sun won’t let this go so easily."
Huang Chu snorted coldly, his expression flashing with a hint of disgust. "Let her try. No matter what happens, keep her here. If Sun Qianqian dares to make a move, get Old Lei involved."
Old Lei was the stunt coordinator for the production. In his youth, he’d won martial arts championships, capable of taking on ten opponents at once without issue.
Cui Jie cautiously added, "But Director, if we really incite Miss Sun, how will we explain this to the investor?"
"This is my film. Outsiders have no right to interfere. I tolerated her before because I didn’t want to waste my energy. But if she keeps pushing it this time, I won’t hold back."
Huang Chu’s expression grew serious.
Sun Qianqian had become increasingly outrageous. He’d long since lost any desire to endure her antics. If the investors wanted to pull out, so be it. After all his years in the industry, he wasn’t without options. Even if he had to beg and grovel to find new backers, he wouldn’t tolerate continuing to shoot with Sun Qianqian, that walking disaster.
Cui Jie chuckled and gave him a discreet thumbs up. "Director Huang, you’ve got my support."
"Alright, act carefully. I’m going to see Mr. Shi."
Huang Chu hurried off.
Cui Jie watched Huang Chu’s departing figure, understanding all too well.
Having worked under Huang Chu for years, he’d already grasped the director’s preferences. This rush to meet Mr. Shi was likely to discuss giving Shen more scenes.
With the director gone, the crew wrapped up for the day. Everyone was busy sorting props.
"Brother Jie, where do you find such gorgeous new talents who can act well too? I can tell Director Huang is really impressed. You’ve definitely outdone yourself this time."
"No problem, no problem. I’ll treat everyone to a meal later."
Cui Jie hadn’t made it to the lounge before spotting Sun Qianqian, dragging someone over with intimidating force.
Cui Jie inwardly groaned, mentally cursing Sun Qianqian for her shamelessness.
