Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos
Chapter 139: Crimson Vein Serpent
CHAPTER 139: CRIMSON VEIN SERPENT
The area was filled with lush green trees and rocks.
Lin Feng could see some cultivators roaming around, most of them were disciples of the Yin Yang Harmony Sect. It was expected, since this was one of the locations where Crimson Vein Serpents were found in abundance.
Given how much the sect was paying for them, it definitely was the most picked mission in the sect right now.
They moved a little away where there were only a few disciples and landed. There were disciples who were looking for the snakes nearby, when they saw that it was Lin Feng and Xie Ruyue, they got a little stunned, and before they could greet them, Xie Ruyue squinted her eyes.
"Get lost," her voice was sharp and filled with annoyance, as if they didn’t get lost from her vision, then she would beat the hell out of them.
The disciples felt a chill run down their spine, they were even afraid of her in the sect, much less here where no rules existed. They immediately ran away.
Lin Feng sighed when he saw that, "Senior sister, how would you get a partner if you keep acting like that? They might start thinking of you as a tyrant beast instead of an elegant woman "
"Tch... who wants a partner, I would prefer to be called a tyrant beast, you shouldn’t worry about it, junior brother," Xie Ruyue snorted and used her spiritual sense to locate the beasts around them.
Spiritual sense only gave you knowledge about the shape and size of the object which had blood qi or spirit qi.
Basically, all living things had blood qi inside their bodies, so finding out living things was quite easy with spiritual sense.
She could immediately see some beasts nearby them, with their shape she was able to identify most of them, some were rodents hiding beneath the ground, while some were snakes.
There were a total of 3 snakes near them, there was no doubt that they were Crimson Vein Serpents as this area was the territory of these snakes.
Two were underground, and one was above a tree on the left side of where they were standing.
Digging the ground to hunt these beasts would be difficult, as they would burrow even deeper if they felt threatened, so she decided to catch the one on the tree.
It was in the Late Stage of the Beast Core Formation stage. She immediately acted.
Lin Feng just felt a light wind on his face as Xie Ruyue disappeared, and in an instant, she came back with a snake which was at least 30 meters in length and wide enough as the trunk of a tree.
It was light yellow, but all its body was filled with multiple crimson veins.
Lin Feng looked at it intently, in appearance, this snake wasn’t any different than what he had knowledge of.
The snake was still breathing, "Senior sister... I need its beast core, so can you kill—"
"No, do it yourself, after thinking thoroughly about what you said off me being a tyrant beast, I have decided to act elegantly from now on... and killing and taking out a beast core isn’t something an elegant and graceful woman should do, here," she threw her sword to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng caught it with a dumbfounded expression, while blaming himself for not keeping his mouth shut.
He sighed and looked at the snake, although it was knocked out, it would still be tough to kill it even with this sword which definitely was a grade 6 weapon of high tier, since he wouldn’t be able imbue spirit qi inside it, it was refined weapon of Xie Ruyue after all.
Lin Feng arrived near its neck and placed the sword’s tip in the middle of it. The beast core of snake type beasts are located in their necks, so killing it by stabbing in the neck was more effective for him.
He wasn’t worried about damaging the beast core, he would have to use all his strength to just penetrate through its thick skin and flesh, the beast core was as hard as the bones of a beast, so it was impossible for him to damage it in any way.
Lin Feng took a small breath and immediately thrust with all his strength, the sword immediately entered the snake’s body, drawing out vibrant crimson blood, he could feel its immense vitality from just its blood, which stained sword and his hands.
The snake’s body immediately started wiggling out of reflex, Lin Feng immediately put some distance.
Thrusting the sword was the easy part, but slicing open the neck would be tough, he would have to wait for the snake to stop wiggling completely before going back to slice it open to find the beast core.
It took a while before the snake stopped its movement, a lot of blood had been drained out of its body. No doubt it was already dead, Lin Feng moved near it and caught the sword again.
Now it was time for the toughest part, he put strength in his arms and pulled the sword out while pushing it out towards one side to slice open the flesh.
He was only able to slice 1 inch of it, he sighed and kept thrusting and pulling out the sword in one direction, in a while, he was able to slice open one side of the neck.
Similarly, he sliced open the other side too, it was really an amusing sight for Xie Ruyue, it was as if Lin Feng was cutting a tough tree trunk slowly.
When Lin Feng looked at the separated neck of the snake, he sighed in relief as the beast core was visible, he wouldn’t need to dig out more to find it.
He immediately used the sword to slice open the flesh surrounding the beast core and took it out.
The beast core was of a similar color to the snake, light yellow with a lot of crimson veins on it, it was hard to touch, and its surface gleamed with a lustrous sheen.
He sighed, the core didn’t look any different than what he had knowledge of either. It didn’t seem that there was anything that was unique to them which he didn’t know about.
What was he really missing here? Was he wrong about it being the main ingredient?
