CHAPTER 18: CRIMSON LOTUS INN

He was thinking about what he should do now, as although he was lecherous and a scoundrel, it was mainly with his master and aunts, with whom he was quite close. He wouldn’t go on flirting with senior sister Mo Yan just because he was feeling lustful right now.

Who knew if she hated men or not? Most disciples of the sect might have some tragic past. Although senior sister Mo Yan spoke without showing any discomfort, that might just be an act. He couldn’t be completely sure.

Lin Feng nodded and listened.

"You see, junior brother, the region near our borders is quite vulnerable, and our enemies can easily infiltrate it. Now that we have found a mine around the area, we need to crack down on these areas for hidden dangers."

Lin Feng nodded. He wasn’t surprised by senior sister Mo Yan knowing about the spirit mine, which was quite hidden information even among their sect. He just didn’t know if she knew about it being a high-grade spirit mine, but he had a feeling she did... He continued listening.

They can easily identify us due to some reason, so we can’t get too close or they will become alert and hide their activities."

Lin Feng nodded. He found it cute that she didn’t explain the specific reason for their Yin being strong. Anyway, since it was an infiltration mission, that would be easy—he was more than capable of doing so.

"I understand, senior sister. How long will it take for us to reach there?" They were flying quite fast, but he didn’t know how far the border really was. He just had general knowledge that the Frozen Heart Sect was in the middle of the Northern Region.

"It will take around one day, junior brother. Usually, we would have used the teleportation array to reach there, but they would definitely become alert seeing me, as they have definitely infiltrated it too."

Lin Feng nodded. Given their speed right now, it really was quite far, and teleportation was indeed the best option for going there.

Since it would take time, he decided to cultivate. He closed his eyes and started absorbing the spirit qi.

When Mo Yan noticed it, she closed her eyes. She couldn’t cultivate as she was providing spirit qi to the spirit boat. It was very little, but at her level, cultivating needed concentration, which she couldn’t do while using her spirit sense to keep watch.

Time passed in silence, and eventually night came. Lin Feng stopped cultivating. Although he could cultivate all night and still be able to handle his mission the next day, it was better to be in proper condition while doing something risky.

Mo Yan opened her eyes and looked at Lin Feng. "Junior brother, you should sleep."

Lin Feng nodded. The spirit boat had enough space... He immediately closed his eyes, and it didn’t take long for him to sleep soundly.

Mo Yan kept looking at him for a while. This was the first time she was alone with a man. Whenever she went outside, she would always wear a veil on her face, and even then, she would feel multiple gazes on her.

She also knew that asking for permission from her clan was impossible, so she just ran away at night.

Fortunately, she was able to reach a safe place, where she met two disciples of the Frozen Heart Sect, they were none other than the current sect master Xuan Xue and Xuan Lian. She went to them and asked to join the sect, and they took her in immediately.

Sect Master Xuan Xue had even taught her everything, but she never took her as a disciple... because she didn’t wanted to take anyone as a disciple at that time. Mo Yan sighed..

But now, Sect Master Xuan Xue had taken one disciple—not to mention a man. She had felt a little jealousy inside before she curbed it immensely. She was not a little girl anymore.

Her talent was far higher than she had imagined, not to even mention her constitution which she found out after reaching core formation realm. She had not only become the strongest, but also ranked second alongside peak master Xuan Lian in beauty. Well, she cared for the strength part, though... as for how beautiful she was, she didn’t care.

Although she still wanted to be accepted by sect master Xuan Xue as a disciple, she knew that if she forced it, she might succeed... but she wouldn’t do that. As for her junior brother, she had a feeling there was definitely a reason for him to be accepted into the sect, much less as a disciple of sect master.

Well, there was no point in guessing blindly...

She only wanted to cultivate and reach immortality, living as freely as she could—and she would achieve it.

She had to admit one thing, though—even though she hadn’t worn a veil, her junior brother hadn’t tried to look at her. Was he acting, or was he genuinely being respectful? Mo Yan’s face was red, so she answered while turning back to see him, "Not yet—half an hour more."

Lin Feng nodded, but he noticed her voice was a little strained. He was slightly confused, but when he saw his taut member, he understood immediately what had happened.

It had become so normal for him not to hide his hard shaft from his master and aunts that he had completely forgotten about it. He smiled internally... so senior sister was embarrassed right now. Should he tease her? Forget it.

He meditated and calmed his dragon before looking down. The area was filled with more greenery and plains than the snowy mountains they had come from.

They travelled for twenty minutes before Mo Yan decreased their speed. She had returned to normal after Lin Feng had meditated.

Lin Feng could see a large river from above and a city near it.

"That river divides the Northern and Eastern Regions. It is known as the Azure Serpent River, and the border city on its banks is Lotus Bloom City."

Lin Feng had to admit, the river was truly massive—the city looked minuscule in comparison.

They stopped and landed in a hidden area behind trees.

"Junior brother, you have to go alone from now on. The inn’s name is Crimson Lotus Inn. It exists on the left side of the city gate—you will be able to see it. If you find anything suspicious, just come out and inform me.

I will take action immediately. Don’t worry about how small the clue is—even if we have to face defamation... we can’t let them go unpunished."

Lin Feng nodded and left the area, coming to the main pathway that led to the city entrance. Since it was morning, he could see some trade caravans leaving the city.

He came in front of the big gates and joined a small line of people entering the city.
