CHAPTER 237: CONDITIONS

They started going toward it while walking at a normal pace. There was no need to hurry. After a while they were able to see the base of the mountain clearly.

There were already many cultivators here and most of them seemed to be discussing among themselves. The cultivators from Yin Yang Harmony Sect and Crimson Flame Palace were also present.

"What do you think brother Ma, what will we have to go through to reach the main ruin? Having more than ninety percent eliminated is quite a lot right..." Yun Zhihao asked a cultivator standing beside him and Rong Chengyu.

"Looking at those steps going to the top of the mountain, it’s pretty obvious that we will have to climb them and the reason it will be hard is definitely related to some restrictions..." Ma Tianqi answered calmly.

"How?"

Suddenly Yun Zhihao and Ma Tianqi heard Rong Chengyu’s startled voice. They looked at him and then in the direction he was looking at and when they did they saw the masked cultivator, Pei Lingxi, Lian Zhi and Bai Lian coming towards the mountain.

They frowned before they were stunned as well. The masked cultivator had reached the Soul Sea Realm, but it was surprising that he had entered the core city; they did not know this since they had entered first and didn’t see him entering. It meant that this masked cultivator would also have to enter the test of the main ruin.

It was a very desirable outcome for them, but even then, it wasn’t something that could shock them. What truly stunned them was the cultivation realm of Lian Zhi and Pei Lingxi. They were at the late stage, which was impossible.

"How?" Yun Zhihao asked the same question instinctively. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. It was almost guaranteed that he wouldn’t be seen as the leader of Yin Yang Harmony Sect here.

Ma Tianqi looked at Bai Lian. She was still at mid-stage. It meant Pei Lingxi and Lian Zhi were the only ones who benefited from a tremendous opportunity and he couldn’t figure out what it was.

Other cultivators began to pay attention to Lin Feng’s group and they were stunned too. Being at late stage would give a huge advantage over others inside the main ruin.

They couldn’t help but think how these two had broken through. No spirit herbs would have provided them with enough qi better than the spirit qi density present inside the city itself, not to mention they were dual cultivators and needed yang to balance their cultivation realm. So how did they break through without any signs of instability in their qi.

Lin Feng and the others arrived at the base and chose a vacant spot. The overall scene was quite similar to how they had been waiting for the opening of the core city.

Lin Feng looked towards the mountain top. Although the main ruin was still hidden inside the clouds, a faint outline could be seen and he had to say it was massive.

"Look at those fools. They seem too shocked seeing you two..." Bai Lian didn’t like being the centre of attention and this constant staring from others was too much of a nuisance for her.

Lian Zhi smiled listening to that. "This is only for today sister Bai. Other days the reason they were staring at us was because of your beauty... hehehehe..."

"As if... Are you saying that Pei Lingxi and you are not beautiful?" Bai Lian shook her head. She looked towards Lin Feng who was looking towards the mountain. "What are you thinking brother Feng?"

Lin Feng wasn’t thinking much. His mind was on the central region and the spirit consciousness. "Nothing much. You guys do know that this city is from the central region right?" He had a feeling that most cultivators wouldn’t even know about this.

As he had expected, all of their expressions changed. It meant they hadn’t considered that option at all.

"I see. So you guys thought that this city was created by the senior just for choosing a successor?"

"W-well yes," Bai Lian answered. She still couldn’t totally comprehend his meaning. Pei Lingxi and Lian Zhi nodded too.

Lin Feng shook his head. "If that was the case then there was no need to create a city so big that not even one hundredth of it was occupied right now. You guys have seen the cuts on the houses atleast right?" They were easy to spot. Even the nearby residences had those cuts. As for differentiating corrosion, it was harder due to the residences being old.

When the others heard his question they nodded with slightly wide eyes. They had seen those cuts and now they understood that they were spatial cuts. Now it was truly believable that this city belonged to the central region.

"So this is the reason why there was no information about who this senior was..." Pei Lingxi spoke while sighing. "Just imagine what it takes to bring a city of this scale from the central region to Whispering Mountain Range. I am sure that teleportation wasn’t possible."

Lin Feng nodded. "Indeed, it’s not easy." You cannot move the dimension you created by tearing the fabric of the world. So this senior must have brought the city with his own hands before creating this dimension and putting it in.

Moving a dimension is something only possible if you have good enough understanding of Spatial Dao and he doubted that this senior had attainment in that.

He looked towards the shining consciousness while thinking that and to his surprise it brightened and the silhouette of the spirit consciousness appeared above everyone’s head.

It wasn’t even noon so he was a little surprised.

The spirit consciousness looked at everyone and its eyes lingered on Lin Feng for an instant. "Since everyone is here, let’s start. The test is very simple. All you have to do is climb these steps and reach the top. If you are able to do it in three hours then you can enter the main ruin."
