Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos
Chapter 247: Unaware Of Danger
CHAPTER 247: UNAWARE OF DANGER
Lin Feng who was laying down caught the ring. The material it was made from was definitely Dao grade 1, but the real value depended on the inner dimension of the ring.
He wouldn’t be able to open it with the meager amount of spirit qi he had. If he replenished his qi then he might be able to take a peak for a single breath. The bigger the dimension of a storage ring the higher the spirit qi it needed to activate.
Well at least no one could figure out that this ring was a Dao grade treasure by just looking at it. Even though he should keep it hidden. He put it inside his sash.
"Let’s talk now shall we. Ask me anything you want to know..." The spirit consciousness sat down beside Lin Feng.
Lin Feng took a small breath and sat down too. "Senior, about this ice..."
The spirit consciousness nodded. "It is indeed not normal ice. It is just the result of a phoenix feather I found in the central region..."
Lin Feng had a feeling that it was something like that but... "Senior, you ventured into the core region of the central region?"
The spirit consciousness looked at Lin Feng deeply before shaking his head. "No, it was near this city... You didn’t seem surprised by the fact that it was an Ice Phoenix feather. You even mentioned the core region as if you were sure that it was possible to find a feather like this there... By any chance do you know what an Ice Phoenix was doing there? If yes then would you mind telling me about it?"
Lin Feng was still calm after hearing that, "Indeed, there might be some more feathers in the core region. As for what an Ice Phoenix was doing there... hmm, senior I know some truth about the incident that happened in the central region. So here is what had happened..."
Lin Feng narrated the truth about what happened but he didn’t mention the fact that he was related to his grandmother.
The spirit consciousness listened with a calm expression and when Lin Feng finished speaking he sighed inwardly. "I see."
Before today he had always known that this world wasn’t targeted by someone but it was just misfortune and now finally he knew how everything happened.
He didn’t doubt what Lin Feng had told him as there was no other way an Ice Phoenix would come to this world.
"Sigh... Anyway, the feather is inside the ring I have given you... Now let me tell you how I ended up dying here..." The spirit consciousness looked up for a moment as if reminiscing something.
"I was born in the central region, in this same city. Although my clan was quite strong and one of the prominent branches of the sect, I wasn’t much talented but I have always been blessed with fortune.
I kept finding opportunities and utilising them. In the end I reached the very top and this world wasn’t enough to provide for my needs, so I left just like others who reach the top of Tribulation Ascendance." The spirit consciousness stopped for a moment and looked towards Lin Feng who was listening with a little interest.
"I don’t know if you know but there are many small worlds like this around us and as you move higher up there are fewer worlds but they are far bigger. Those worlds become gathering points for cultivators from these small worlds.
The bigger worlds situated higher in the realm have more prominent Laws and that helps in comprehension and also the development of desired resources.
I was staying in one of those big worlds. To reach there you have to teleport through two other smaller worlds or you can directly go through the void.
Going through the void has its own dangers so teleportation is the safest option. The central region had one such world-traversing teleportation array but it was destroyed." The spirit consciousness shook his head. "Even if it wasn’t destroyed, given how unstable the space is above the central region, it would have been impossible to utilise."
Lin Feng nodded. It was indeed impossible to teleport inside the central region.
"Usually no one comes to this world other than those who originated from this world and even those hardly return. Once you begin traversing the path further you leave behind everything. So no one had known what had happened to this world but you see, I had a sworn brother in this world who was also Tribulation Ascendance." The spirit consciousness stopped and sighed.
"He had made a promise to meet me in the world in which I was residing... but too much time passed and he didn’t come. One day on a whim I decided to visit here to see what happened.
I reached the nearest world to this through teleportation but wasn’t able to teleport directly to this world through the direct teleportation array as it wasn’t working.
I asked those who managed these arrays but they didn’t know the reasons, so in the end I took a random teleportation and got as near as I could to this world and it worked as I arrived in the vicinity.
But when I saw the world from the void I got stunned as the whole central region seemed to be covered in faint darkness. It was totally unconventional and I knew that something was not right.
I was right in my assumptions. When I came close and sensed the strength of the darkness I knew it wasn’t something even I could mess with. I also knew that no one was left inside the central region. I thought of the worst but there was also hope that they might have had enough time to leave the central region... Alas, that wasn’t the case.
I decided not to enter directly from the area where the darkness was more prominent. I went towards the location where my sect was. It was much safer and the darkness was also sparser there.
I entered unaware that darkness wasn’t the only danger inside the central region." The spirit consciousness shook his head.
"My fortune must have been immensely good that I was able to at least enter my city and see through everything unharmed..."
