CHAPTER 28: SPIRIT PEAK

"These are the abodes of elders from Treasure Peak, below it are the abodes of inner disciples of Treasure Peak. Since Treasure Peak only recruits a limited amount of disciples which are needed to maintain it, we have the least disciples of all the peaks.

That’s why we don’t care about peak competitions.

In the end all the peaks need resources by winning competitions and those resources go from here... hehehehe."

"Why do you sound like you are stealing resources for Treasure Peak?" Xuan Xue squinted her eyes.

"Cough! Cough!... what do you mean, sis? Let’s go, Feng’er, we have a lot to see," Xuan Lian grabbed Lin Feng’s hand and pulled him while increasing their speed.

They came to a place where the abodes of the disciples were. Lin Feng could see some disciples who were outside their abodes. When they saw them, they were stunned before bowing.

Lin Feng didn’t know what was going through their minds looking at him for the first time, not to mention his aunt was holding his hand. They must be shocked, no doubt about it.

Xuan Xue and Xuan Lian nodded to those disciples and they went further down.

Lin Feng, Xuan Xue and Xuan Lian came to a place where one part of the main sect was located. It was a mountain which was cut manually to make space for this area to exist. This mountain had three cuts, he had seen it while flying before. Most probably these three areas were for core disciples, inner disciples and outer disciples.

Lin Feng could see a lot more disciples here, every disciple had the same sect robe but there was an emblem on each sect robe which differentiated them from peak to peak.

Similar to the previous disciples, when they saw them, they all bowed in reverence to his master and aunt.

"This is the area for core disciples of the sect, further down is the inner disciples’ area and at last is the area for outer disciples," Xuan Lian explained.

"Aunt, what are the benefits of peak competitions?" He knew that his sect had Spirit Peak, Treasure Peak, Disciplinary Peak, Mission Peak, Sword Peak, Alchemy Peak and Refinement Peak.

The peak he lived on was Spirit Peak, but he didn’t know if it had any disciples or not.

"Well, you see, peak competitions are done to give extra resources to the peak, these resources are above what they initially got.

The winner of peak competition gets 100% more of the initial resources given to them for 2 years, the second place holder gets 50% more resources and third place gets 25%.

All the peaks want more resources, because if you have more resources than other peaks then you can easily recruit better disciples for your peak. And making your peak strong is kind of a competition in the sect."

Lin Feng, "I understand aunt, but what about Spirit Peak? Does it also take part in it?"

Xuan Lian shook her head, "Unlike other peaks, Spirit Peak doesn’t take part in peak competitions. You see, the disciples of Spirit Peak are those who are in Spirit Origin Realm or above. No matter which peak they belonged to, once they reach Spirit Origin Realm... they become part of Spirit Peak."

Lin Feng nodded in understanding.

Looks like Spirit Peak is different from normal peaks, it is the main strength of the sect. Spirit Origin was just below Void Tribulation Realm, so that meant senior sister Mo Yan was part of Spirit Peak too.

"That’s why, you will join this competition from Treasure Peak this time. From now on you will be part of both Treasure and Spirit Peak," Xuan Lian spoke.

Lin Feng nodded. He was just early stage of Qi Refinement Realm, but no doubt his strength was enough to easily overpower those in peak stage of Qi Refinement.

There were three reasons for this: first was his yang qi, second was his body refined with yang qi, and third was his battle sense. Yes, although he was reincarnated somehow, his experience was far higher than new cultivators.

Battle sense wasn’t related to strength but to reading the flow of battle, it helped you guess the moves of your enemy. He had fought some duels with his master in the past year and he was sure that he could understand her next move. Although his master had blocked her blood qi to mortal level, she was far more experienced than normal cultivators.

And no doubt after having battles with her, he was sure he could read her moves, although he never did it, as it would have been little impossible to believe. After all, he was too young to have battle sense.

They arrived at the second location which was the inner area of the sect. This was also the location where the sect competition would be held. The arena was made in the middle of the big empty square.

When they arrived near the arena, it was already completed and two women were standing near it. One was his foster aunt Zi Mei while the other seemed to be an elder of Disciplinary Peak.

Zi Mei turned around and looked at them, "You guys are here. This year’s open challenges look a little troublesome, at least one of them is for sure—" she paused and looked at Lin Feng with a stunned expression, "How?"

Lin Feng understood that aunt Zi was asking about his cultivation realm.

"We will tell you later, why did you say troublesome?" Xuan Lian was genuinely surprised.
