Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos
Chapter 36: Battle Sense
CHAPTER 36: BATTLE SENSE
The difference between major realms is considered an insurmountable chasm, the increase in power is too drastic, that is why they are named as Major Realms instead of some minor realms.
Xuan Xue knew that even with Pure Yang qi, Lin Feng would only be able to reach the extreme peak of the Qi Refinement Realm, his strength definitely would not have crossed into the Foundation Establishment Realm.
He might really be close in strength to the Early Foundation Establishment Realm, but that is only true for those cultivators who broke through recently
Would he be able to handle those who are already on the brink of breaking through to the mid stage, because she could sense that Wu Jian really was about to breakthrough.
Li Xiang was stunned listening to Lin Feng, she did not hate that idea. She was intrigued by Lin Feng’s duels, not to mention he was a disciple of Xuan Xue. If Wu Jian won, which is but a known outcome, then she could always boast to Xuan Xue.
It did not matter that Lin Feng was only an Early Stage Qi Refinement Realm cultivator, in the end it was he who had asked for this challenge, not the other way around.
Xuan Xue looked at Lin Feng, he looked calm. She sighed, "You can, if they accept the challenge that is."
"Of course we accept. Go Wu Jian, do not be too hard on your junior brother." Li Xiang spoke immediately.
Her voice was loud enough to be heard by everyone. Xuan Xue shook her head inwardly but did not say anything back.
Wu Jian nodded, his master really had an unrestrained personality. She loved to boast about his abilities. He was just from a small village where the strongest cultivator was only at the Mid Stage Foundation Establishment Realm.
Just like his parents, he had thought that his aptitude for cultivation was bad too so he never really tried to cultivate, but one day when he went out hunting for the first time and held a sword he felt a strange connection to it.
He felt wielding a sword was natural for him, like an extension of himself. He started practicing it and one day his master landed in front of him as she had seen him by chance.
Wu Jian came to the arena and looked at Lin Feng before cupping his fists, "It is a pleasure meeting you junior brother Lin, do not mind my master, she is a child by heart."
...
Xi Liang was stupefied while Xuan Lian laughed, "Hehehe~... Sis Xiang, your disciple understands you well."
...
Lin Feng smiled and nodded, "Do not worry about that, I have a suggestion though. Do not listen to your master’s words of going easy on me, or else it will not end up well."
Lin Feng did not mind others calling him junior, but they should not expect him to call them seniors. He did not know how old he was in his past life before reincarnating, but he was sure that he had lived for thousands of years. His strength was definitely among the top cultivators in the world, the fact that he was able to get so much information through dreams was already proof of it.
He would only call senior to those he felt like, like his senior sister.
Wu Jian frowned but did not mull over it too much. He was not some young master who would get angry over something like that. He took out his sword and got ready.
Lin Feng nodded internally, at least Wu Jian’s personality was not bad. He stretched himself a little as this fight would take far more efforts.
Mo Yan looked at them and when she saw that they were ready, "Alright, start the battle."
Wu Jian dashed forward, his speed was faster than what Lin Feng had shown till now. Lin Feng became calm, removing each and every thought from his mind and putting all his attention on the incoming Wu Jian.
Lin Feng could clearly see everything, as if his mind was able to see through even the muscle movements of Wu Jian. This is what reading your opponent means.
Lin Feng could already deduce that Wu Jian would go for a stab towards his right shoulder although Wu Jian was trying to fake the stab towards his stomach, and that was exactly what happened. Wu Jian reached and aimed his sword towards the stomach of Lin Feng.
The stab looked perfectly executed, Lin Feng was impressed, as expected of a sword related physique. Lin Feng was already moving his right shoulder back, he could not timely dodge Wu Jian’s attack unless he moved a little earlier, as Wu Jian was faster than him.
The sword moved elegantly towards his stomach before it changed direction in mid-air and aimed towards Lin Feng’s shoulder, but it only grazed past it, leaving only a trace on Lin Feng’s robe.
Wu Jian’s eyes widened, when he shifted the attack towards the shoulder he saw that Lin Feng had already started moving, and he was sure Lin Feng had started moving his shoulder back just a little before he changed direction. It was like Lin Feng was able to see his attack, but how?
Wu Jian did not bring back his extended sword and instead hacked down from above. Since he was not able to gain momentum the wound would be shallow, but it would still hurt.
But just as he thought of bringing his sword down on Lin Feng, Lin Feng moved again and left the range of the sword. The attack again missed Lin Feng by a hair’s breadth.
From the start of the duel to this point only a few breaths had passed and everything happened very fast, the onlookers were stunned.
Most of them were stunned because an Early Stage Qi Refinement cultivator was able to dodge the attacks of an Early Stage Foundation Establishment Realm cultivator, but some who could really see what was happening were stunned because of Lin Feng’s ability to predict attacks.
They could clearly see that he was able to read Wu Jian like an open scroll. It was like Wu Jian was attacking Lin Feng where Lin Feng wanted him to.
"Xuan Xue, this is battle sense is it not? Or is it related to his physique?" Li Xiang’s eyes were wide, it looked like she was looking at some impossible occurrence which she could not believe even though it was happening right in front of her eyes, "How? Just how?"
Battle sense is not something you can develop just because you want to. You have to go through multiple life and death battles, getting injured is part of it. Even then it takes impossibly long to develop it, or some might not even develop it, not to mention the chances of surviving so many life and death battles is almost zero.
