Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos
Chapter 70: Illusion or Mind Control?
CHAPTER 70: ILLUSION OR MIND CONTROL?
Lin Feng looked at the old man, "I have a suggestion, bring the children below 12 years from these villages to this village."
The old man frowned, "Young man, it’s not that we can’t do that, but since this village was attacked and we weren’t able to save our children, why would others trust us to give their children to us, not to mention we can’t give them a guarantee to keep them safe.
Forgive me if my words disappoint you, but you are young, and I doubt you are a Core Formation realm cultivator. What difference could your presence possibly make?
When we submitted the mission, we were hoping to get a proper group of cultivators from the Frozen Heart Sect, alas, we are just nobodies in this world..."
Lin Feng understood his frustration, he wasn’t even angry at the old man for not trusting him, it’s only natural, "Well, that’s why I said it as a suggestion, not a request. In the end, only three villages are left, I can wait until two incidents pass and just visit the last village.
But do remember, if by any chance I was successful in saving the last village, then the deaths of children from the other two villages will be in vain, just because you all didn’t make the right choice.
Now then, is there any place where I can stay for the time being?"
Lin Feng wasn’t a saint, if he could save the children, he would, if he couldn’t, then he wouldn’t fret over it either. In the end, the fate of those children would depend on the villagers’ own decisions, not his.
The old man looked conflicted for a moment, what Lin Feng had said was true. The incidents would still happen, it didn’t matter if those children were here or not. In the end, he decided to pass this suggestion along with Lin Feng’s message.
No matter what, right now he was their only choice, at least he was sent here by the Frozen Heart Sect. That in itself could work as a small assurance, "You can stay here, young man, this room is empty."
Lin Feng nodded, he didn’t mind it, it looked clean enough for staying for some time.
"Then excuse us, young man, I will go and arrange someone to deliver your message across these villages." The old man left, and the guard followed.
Lin Feng watched them leave before he sat down and began thinking about ways the perpetrator was able to place everyone in an illusion or was it mind control?
Mind control and illusion are very similar to each other, if the perpetrator was using illusion, then everyone must have thought that they were still seeing the children while the children themselves were taken away.
And once the illusion breaks, the children vanish in front of their eyes.
If it is mind control, then for some time people don’t know what they are doing, they might just, by themselves, go and deliver the children to the perpetrator and return to their original location, until the control wears off.
Both of these situations seem plausible.
Now the only thing left is to figure out how? Putting the entire village in an illusion or mind control together is a challenging task unless they use some method that can affect an entire area easily.
If it really is an attack that affects a large area and is able to reach each and every villager in a few breaths, then he could only think of two likely scenarios.
First is a mist, visible or invisible didn’t matter, if the perpetrator had a way to spread the mist over the entire village in a few breaths.
Second is sound, it would be heard by everyone in an instant.
Both of these could easily place the entire village in an illusion or mind control. Lin Feng just mulled it over for a moment ,"Well, let’s see how it goes. But first things first."
Lin Feng adjusted his posture into the Lotus position and concentrated on controlling his spirit qi, he had far better control over his spirit qi.
Others would need to learn a proper technique to do what he was about to do, just like using spirit qi in his eyes to discern the cultivation realm of others.
This time, he was trying to conceal his cultivation realm, after a few breaths of moving his qi at a particular speed and rhythm, he was able to achieve what he desired.
Now, unless others were far stronger and possessed a proper technique, they would not be able to discern his cultivation realm, unless he used his qi to attack and they analysed it calmly.
The Dream Law really worked very well for him, techniques are basically usable until you haven’t stepped onto the path of the Dao, where you don’t need techniques.
His cultivation technique also had signature techniques that start from Core Formation realm to Tribulation Ascendance realm, he already knew all of them, if he had enough qi, then he would have been able to even use them.
Lin Feng looked at his hand for a few seconds before he decided to cultivate for some time.
...
"Chief, do you think this young man can do it?" one of the three men standing in front of the old man asked, as he was really skeptical about it.
"Is there any other choice left for us? Just go and inform the villages, and don’t sound half-hearted, make sure to tell them that this is the only way left to save their children." The old man shook his head and started walking back.
The three men nodded and went away. The villages weren’t that far from here, only about one to two hours away. So, if they agreed, then they could easily bring their children here before nightfall.
...
In the border area, near the Azure Serpent River, Xuan Xue finally released the last batch of spirit beasts and looked toward the Eastern Region, she was tempted to go and raze one city, but that would shift the narrative that the Frozen Heart Sect was the first to attack.
Although she didn’t care about it, her actions represented the Frozen Heart Sect, so its reputation would be tarnished.
Forget it, they would come, no doubt, she really was quite eager to know what treasure they had obtained that had given them the courage to launch a full-scale war.
Was it from some other realm or? Her eyes drifted toward a region forbidden to even speak about, only ruins remained where the greatest region of this world once stood, the Central Region.
