As soon as Wang Ming closed his eyes and began absorbing the physique, the entire room darkened, and pitch-black mist emerged from his body, quickly filling the entire space and even escaping the room. The shadows inside the room—and even Wang Ming’s own shadow—began to wiggle and rapidly wrapped around his body. Soon, it seemed as though darkness itself had taken the shape of a human being.

Wang Ming used his spiritual sense to check the condition of his newly merged physique. When he looked within, all he could see was pitch-black darkness and nothing else. He retracted his sense and focused on the scroll in his hand.

He examined the scroll for a few seconds before beginning to comprehend it.

Wang Ming raised an eyebrow. This was the first time he was learning a technique without buying it from the system. He expected it would take time—maybe a week at minimum, as most people required at least that long. However, he didn’t expect the system to allow him to learn it instantly.

"Let’s try it, shall we?" he mumbled as he activated the technique. As soon as he did, he felt changes occurring within his body—the technique was being applied through his physique. Soon, his entire body turned into black mist.

"What?" he was shocked when he saw his body completely transform into black mist. He quickly deactivated the technique, and to his relief, he returned to normal.

"Veil of Darkness," he mumbled again. His body turned into black mist once more. He walked toward the corner of the room, where it was dark, and placed his hand against the wall. It merged directly with the shadows—his hand had become completely invisible. He stepped forward and realized his entire body had vanished.

"Huh? What’s this?" Wang Ming muttered. As his body fully merged with the darkness, he noticed a black sphere of darkness in front of him—and more of them outside the room and even outside the building.

"System, what is this?" Wang Ming asked curiously.

Wang Ming’s eyes widened in disbelief, and he grew excited to try it out.

"Hmm, let’s see," he muttered. Looking outside the room, he saw a black sphere behind Bai Lingxi and thought about teleporting there. His vision blurred—and the next moment, he found himself inside Bai Lingxi’s shadow. He also realized something else: during teleportation, he could bypass physical obstacles.

"She can’t see or hear me... not even spiritual sense can detect me," Wang Ming thought as he emerged from Bai Lingxi’s shadow. No one noticed him, even though he had seen them scanning his room with spiritual sense. He waved his hand directly in front of her face, but she showed no reaction. Then, with a single thought, he teleported back inside the room.
