CHAPTER 384: CH-384: OPENING THE BOX
"Wang Ming, can you share this technique with us?" Feng Tian Wu asked as she pointed to herself and Jiang Hong. Lei Ping cast a glance at her, but she just snorted.
Lei Ping could only sigh, knowing that only the Sect Master was allowed to learn this.
’I could become Sect Master... but would I do it just for the technique? Heck no, too much paperwork,’ Lei Ping thought.
"Sure, it was rightfully yours," Wang Ming said with a shrug, and Feng Tian Wu and Jiang Hong’s eyes brightened. Wang Ming raised his finger, and two beams of light shot directly into their heads. It was a direct technique transfer and did not require them to comprehend it.
They watched eagerly as the beam of light entered their foreheads. As soon as it touched them, their bodies suddenly stiffened as all sorts of information began to flood into their minds. Droplets of sweat appeared on their foreheads.
After their minds finished processing the technique, they were shocked and looked at each other.
"This..." Jiang Hong was speechless as he realized they had underestimated it.
’No wonder the founder didn’t teach this technique to anyone. If an enemy got their hands on it, we wouldn’t even know how we died,’ Jiang Hong thought, gulping a mouthful of saliva as cold sweat trickled down his forehead.
"Hehe, let’s try this Shadow Veil," Feng Chang said excitedly, to which Jiang Hong rolled his eyes and his eyebrows twitched. He also activated the technique and dissolved into his own shadow, amazed when he reappeared in the room moments later.
His lips twitched when he saw Feng Chang in her shadow form zooming around the room, which destroys the main purpose of the technique which is stealth.
"Hmm?" Jiang Hong narrowed his eyes. When he used his spiritual sense, he noticed he could detect her more easily compared to Wang Ming when they were stealthy.
"Disciple Wang Ming, do you have some kind of special physique related to darkness?" Jiang Hong asked curiously. The others looked confused about why he would ask that but turned to Wang Ming for answers.
"Oh? How did you know?" Wang Ming raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"So it is true. I could sense the Ancestor much more easily than you when you used the Shadow Veil technique. Makes sense now," Jiang Hong nodded.
"What the hell—you have a darkness physique?" Feng Chang, who had been playing around with the new technique, looked at Wang Ming with wide eyes, sweat forming on her forehead.
"Yes. Is that surprising?" Wang Ming asked curiously.
"Did you not have a Yang Physique?" Feng Chang asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"I do," Wang Ming nodded, frowning slightly, confused as to why she was asking such a question.
"So you have more than one physique?" Lei Ping asked, his voice trailing off.
"Actually, four," Wang Ming replied, and everyone’s expressions changed drastically.
Feng Chang took a deep breath and looked at Wang Ming as if he were some kind of monster.
"You really are an anomaly. Do you know, I’ve traveled to places outside the Black Bamboo Kingdom, and even there, no one has had more than one physique in over a hundred years. People possessing multiple physiques are only mentioned in legends, but you say you have four? What kind of monster are you?" Feng Chang said in disbelief.
"It’s nothing special," Wang Ming shrugged, causing everyone—even his girls—to twitch with irritation and feel the sudden urge to beat him up.
Nothing special, my head, they all cursed inwardly as they glared at Wang Ming.
"Let’s check the box," Wang Ming said awkwardly, realizing he may have gone a bit too far and tried to divert their attention.
The others followed behind him until one of them spoke up.
"Any idea how to open this?" Luo Li asked.
"Disciple Wang Ming, why don’t you try dropping your blood? Maybe it will open just like the hidden compartment did," Lei Ping suggested. Wang Ming nodded in agreement—he had the same idea.
He bit his finger and dropped a few droplets of scarlet blood onto the box. Everyone watched with bated breath to see what would happen next. They waited for a few minutes... but nothing happened.
"Looks like this method isn’t working," Jiang Hong said, which caused Wang Ming to furrow his brows.
"Senior Feng, did the founder ever mention how to open this box?" Wang Ming asked, turning to Feng Chang, who now had a pondering expression on her face.
"Honestly, this box was something even the founder couldn’t open," Feng Chang admitted, and everyone was a bit shocked.
"What? Even the founder failed?" Jiang Hong said, now looking at the box with renewed interest.
"Maybe I should blow it up," Wang Ming muttered, causing everyone to sweat nervously.
"Wait! If you do that, you might destroy whatever’s inside!" Feng Chang hurriedly objected.
"You have a better idea?" Wang Ming asked bluntly.
"...," Feng Chang was left speechless, clearly lacking a solution.
"Wait, I’ll activate the formation!" Jiang Hong shouted when he saw Wang Ming draw his sword. He knew exactly what kind of destruction Wang Ming’s attack could cause to the surroundings without a protective barrier.
"Heavenly Sword Art – Second Form – World Slicing Strike!" Wang Ming roared as a golden arc flew from his sword and slammed into the box.
BOOM!
An explosion erupted on impact. After the smoke cleared, Wang Ming stepped forward. When he saw the box, his eyes widened in disbelief.
"What!!" The others exclaimed as they looked at the box—completely unharmed, not even a scratch on it.
’Heavens, what the hell is this made of?’ they all wondered. If that attack had hit them, they’d have been seriously injured, yet the box remained untouched. Silence followed as Wang Ming stored the box away.
"Any ideas, anyone?" Shi Yu asked, breaking the silence, but no one answered. They were still trying to figure out a solution.
’Maybe... ’ Suddenly, a thought clicked in Wang Ming’s mind. He had just acquired a new physique, and this seemingly indestructible box had appeared at the same time. Coincidence? He didn’t believe in those anymore—he already felt something greater was controlling his fate.
Taking a deep breath, he raised his hand under the confused gaze of the others. A surge of black smoke emerged from his palm and moved toward the box.
