Moreover, he sensed that the dagger was feeding on the trace amounts of Law of Darkness within his physique, gradually growing stronger with each passing moment.

Wang Ming looked at his stats and noticed that a new section had appeared.
"Wang Ming, are you okay?" Bai Lingxi asked with some hesitation as she saw the dagger vanish inside his body. If she hadn’t seen him remain calm, she would have panicked. But now, seeing Wang Ming still unresponsive, she began to feel nervous.
"Yeah, I’m fine," Wang Ming replied, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief—including the elders and the sect master, as he was their hope for winning the tournament.
"Where did the dagger go?" Feng Chang asked curiously.
"It’s still inside my body," Wang Ming said, and everyone was surprised by his answer.
"That dagger didn’t seem like an ordinary weapon," Lei Ping said with a frown. He had never seen a weapon that could reside inside a human body, though he felt like he had read about something similar somewhere before.
"Wang Ming, what kind of weapon is that dagger?" Luo Li asked curiously, and the others turned their attention to him as well.
"Soul Weapon," Wang Ming said calmly.
"!!!" Everyone who heard his words had their pupils contract sharply and swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
"S-Soul Weapon?" Bai Lingxi swallowed a mouthful of saliva, looking dumbfounded. Her reaction was shared by the others. Even cultivators from a secluded place like the Black Bamboo Kingdom knew what a Soul Weapon was.
"Yes, look," Wang Ming said as he focused and called out the dagger from within his body. As soon as he commanded it, a pitch-black ball of smoke formed beside him, and the Abyssal Dagger emerged, floating beside him.
’Heavens, now I remember why the behavior of the dagger felt familiar,’ Lei Ping cried out internally, staring at the purple-glowing dagger hovering near Wang Ming in disbelief and envy.
"Why did it bond with you?" Jiang Hong asked after calming his nerves. He knew Soul Weapons bonded with cultivators who met specific criteria or earned their acknowledgment. He wanted to know which was the case for Wang Ming.
"This is the Abyssal Dagger, which feeds on darkness, and my Darkness Merging Physique meets the criteria," Wang Ming replied, omitting the fact that his physique also contained traces of the Law of Darkness.
’Darkness Merging Physique...’ Feng Chang frowned as she tried to recall the name, wondering if she had heard of it before—but nothing came to mind.
"Disciple Wang Ming, can I touch it?" Jiang Hong asked hesitantly, eagerly looking at the dagger. He knew one needed the owner’s permission to touch a Soul Weapon, or else it would remain intangible. He had never seen one before and wanted to touch it at least once in his lifetime.
"Sure," Wang Ming said as he directed the dagger toward Jiang Hong, who grabbed it excitedly.
"Aghhh!" As soon as Jiang Hong touched the dagger, a sharp pain shot through his hand. Under his horrified gaze, his palm began to corrode with darkness, turning black and starting to disintegrate into dust. The corruption quickly began spreading up his arm. In a panic, Jiang Hong hurriedly severed his arm to prevent the spread from reaching the rest of his body.
"What the—didn’t Disciple Wang Ming give him permission?" Feng Chang asked curiously, not even slightly worried about Jiang Hong and ignored his scream.
"Yeah—ugh—I could feel that I had permission," Jiang Hong groaned in pain, "but it seems only Disciple Wang Ming can actually touch it due to his physique."
He tossed a high-grade recovery pill into his mouth, but even after waiting a few minutes, his arm didn’t regrow.
"What?" Jiang Hong suddenly exclaimed when he noticed lingering traces of corrosion. He panicked and began tossing more healing pills into his mouth frantically. After consuming nearly a hundred pills, his severed arm finally began to regenerate. He wiped the sweat off his brow, and was visibility distressed as all of those pills were precious and expensive and had to use it in such a way which made him almost puke blood.
"This..." Feng Chang and the others were speechless at what they had just witnessed.
’This corrosion ability is too buggy. I wonder if it works on objects,’ Wang Ming thought, raising an eyebrow. He then called the dagger back. Grabbing the handle, he was relieved to find it didn’t harm him like it had harmed Jiang Hong.
Wang Ming then tossed the dagger toward the wooden box where it had been stored. Under everyone’s horrified gaze, the moment it made contact, the box began to corrode and disintegrate into dust within seconds.
Hiss—
Everyone drew in a sharp breath as they witnessed the effect. Even the most powerful technique had failed to leave a scratch on that box, but now a single stab from this dagger had turned it to dust.
’Damn... Soul Weapons are too broken,’ they all thought with envy.
