Aurora nodded quickly.

She thought Lucas had already understood what she meant.

“Alright then, since you get it, I’ll just wash up and head to bed.”

She let out a dainty yawn.

After a long day, she truly was exhausted.

Just as she was about to leave, Lucas yanked her back, pinning her in ce.

He braced one hand against the door, caging her in his arms.

Aurora’s voice faltered, her words stumbling.

“What… what do you think you’re doing?”

She pressed against his chest, flustered. “Let me go. I still need a shower–it’ste, I’m really tired.”

But Lucas wouldn’t release her. No matter how she pushed, he didn’t budge an inch.

Seeing him like this, Aurora felt helpless.

She tilted her head back, meeting his eyes. “Why are you blocking me in like this?”

b“/bYou still don’t get it?” Lucas leaned closer, his breath warm against her ear.

“Honey, don’t go to ces like that with her again, alright? Whatever you need, you cane to me–I’ll give you everything.”

Aurora’s face flushed scarlet.

She pped her hand over his mouth, her voice a mix of shame and anger. “What nonsense are you

spouting?”

What kind of shameless talk was that!

Lucas was nothing like the man he showed the world.

A glint of mischief flickered in his eyes.

He pressed a gentle kiss to the center of her palm.

Aurora yanked her hand back in shock.

“What are you doing?”

She looked at him, unsettled, feeling he wasn’t quite the same as before.

It was one thing for Lucas to act so different in public and in private, but did he really have to be this

overbearing?

Aurora’s mind was in a whirl, her only thought now to get away from him.

She’d already exined everything she needed to.

Whatever else he asked, her conscience was clear.

But then Megan came to mind.

What if Lucas decided to go after herter?

Just as Aurora started to edge away, she straightened her posture and looked him in the eye.

“I’m telling you nowb, /btoday had nothing to do with Megan. You’re not allowed to make trouble for her.”

She cleared her throat, and with that said, she tried to slip away.

If Megan knew Aurora was standing up for her like this, she’d probably cry with joy.

After all, she was still worried about her allowance being cut.

If Aurora spoke up on her behalf, her money would be safe.

But Lucas wasn’t amused. His gaze darkened. “Come back. Where do you think you’re going?”

Before she could escape, he pulled her right back into his arms.

Aurora groaned, frustration rising. “What do you want from me?”

“Promise me you’ll never set foot in a ce like that again.” His eyes, usually so gentle with her, were sharp nowb, /bcarrying a rare edge of seriousness.

Aurora rubbed her forehead, exasperated. “Fine. I promise. It was only this once. I just wanted to blow off some steam.”
