CHAPTER 110: CHAPTER 111 WAITING OUTSIDE

"What is your business with Mr. Kinston?" the person asked.

"To express my gratitude," Mabel Quinn replied briefly, after all, it was hard to explain in detail.

"Do you have an appointment?" the person asked again.

Mabel Quinn shook her head.

So the person first looked knowingly, then with disdain, "Mr. Kinston has plenty to deal with every day. If you want to see him, wait until you have an appointment."

Mabel Quinn was stunned, she really hadn’t expected to come all this way and not even get to see Kyle Kinston’s face. But after thinking about it, it seemed reasonable. As the president, if Kyle was that easy to meet, the threshold here would have long been worn out by many people.

She merely forgot all this because she had always been able to meet Kyle Kinston so easily before.

"Then...could you please pass these items to Mr. Kinston?" Mabel Quinn lifted the bag of goods she had bought at the supermarket yesterday, asking the receptionist.

"No, no, you take these items back yourself. Plenty of women send things to Mr. Kinston, if we handed over everything, it would never end!" the person said, evidently thinking Mabel Quinn was one of those women trying to deliberately get close to Kyle Kinston.

Having no other options, Mabel Quinn thought for a moment, then took out her phone and sent a message to Caleb, explaining the situation and hoping Caleb could arrange for the reception to accept her items for Kyle Kinston.

In the quiet meeting room, all phones were naturally set to silent, but Caleb’s phone was on the table. When Mabel Quinn’s message arrived, the screen flashed with it. Caleb’s seat was coincidentally beside Kyle Kinston, so when Caleb glanced at it, Kyle Kinston saw it too.

Caleb shifted slightly, preparing to temporarily leave the meeting to call the reception and let them allow her through, but just as he was halfway up, he heard Kyle Kinston’s sudden voice, "Unlock the phone."

Caleb met the eyes of his boss, feeling guilty. He hadn’t told Elder Kinston that he had arranged for Mabel to come to the Corporation to thank him.

Caleb entered the phone’s password, then honestly handed the phone over to Kyle Kinston.

So, in the entire meeting room, the Corporation’s high-level executives watched as their usually unpredictable president looked down at the secretary’s phone, eyebrows slightly knit and lips tight, appearing to ponder something significant.

A moment later, the president tossed the phone back to Caleb and said, "Have her wait outside."

Immediately, all the high-level executives in the meeting room speculated internally about who the president’s "he" or "she" referred to, and which "outside" they should wait. Also, why was the president looking at Secretary Caleb’s phone?

Caleb acknowledged and then left the meeting room with the phone, returning shortly after and sitting back in his seat, evidently having done what the president instructed.

"Continue," the president calmly said, before another executive stood up to continue the work report.

Meanwhile, at the Corporation’s reception, Mabel Quinn was taken aback after hearing what the receptionist said, her mouth agape, "Are you saying Secretary Caleb called to let me wait outside?"
