Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 168 - 172: Trip to the School
CHAPTER 168: CHAPTER 172: TRIP TO THE SCHOOL
On Monday morning, under Kyle Kinston’s arrangement, Mabel Quinn took the Bentley that usually picked her up to go to school.
As soon as she got out of the car at the school gate, she saw Lyra Grant looking at her. It was obvious that Lyra was deliberately waiting for her there. As soon as she got out of the car, Lyra immediately sneered, "Mabel Quinn, you really dare to show up, and actually come in this car. Aren’t you afraid not enough people know about your disgraceful affair?"
Mabel coldly stared at Lyra, "Why wouldn’t I dare to come? I walk upright, sit up straight, and have nothing to hide. As for you, I bet you’re here today to watch a good show. Unfortunately, you’re going to be disappointed."
"Not necessarily." Lyra smiled mysteriously, lowering her voice as she spoke to Mabel. "Today, I’ll let you see what happens when you go against me."
Mabel furrowed her brow slightly. Lyra’s smile at that moment gave her a vague sense of unease, but she quickly dismissed it. Since Kyle told her to go to school with confidence and that he would handle this issue, she had nothing to worry about.
However, Mabel hadn’t seen Kyle hand over any evidence to her before she came to school today, so she really didn’t know what to present if the school leadership demanded evidence from her.
Whatever arrangements Kyle had or how he intended to produce the evidence, Mabel was utterly confused at this point.
She became famous in school yesterday, and on her way to school today, quite a few students recognized her, pointing and whispering as they gossiped.
Mabel ignored all this and headed directly to the meeting room designated by the school leaders yesterday.
Outside the meeting room, there were quite a few students from different departments, evidently wanting to see the excitement unfold.
In the crowd, Mabel also saw Soren. At that moment, Soren frowned as he looked at her. After hesitating for a moment, he finally walked up to her and said, "Really, how could you do something like this? Do you love luxury and money that much?"
Mabel was stunned; Soren really had some nerve, scolding her without context. "Excuse me, what qualifies you to judge me? What are you to me? You say I love luxury and money — which eye of yours saw that?"
"Those photos, and the anonymous letter..."
"Oh, just based on those few photos of me being picked up by a car and an anonymous letter, you automatically declare me guilty? If it were that simple to reach a verdict, I don’t see why courts even need to exist. Or perhaps, you should go teach those court judges how to conclude cases simply and efficiently," Mabel retorted.
Soren could naturally hear the sarcasm in Mabel’s words, and feeling a bit embarrassed, he replied, "Mabel, there’s no need to be sharp-tongued with me. I came with good intentions today. You should admit your mistakes in front of the leadership later. I’ll ask my dad to speak on your behalf. The school still has a few leaders who have a good relationship with my dad."
Mabel snorted coldly, not appreciating his gesture.
This made Soren even more annoyed, "If it weren’t for the old affection from our childhood, do you think I like dealing with your mess?"
"I certainly don’t need you to handle my business," Mabel responded calmly.
