CHAPTER 336: CHAPTER 349 ARE YOU ISAAC ZIMMERMAN’S BROTHER?

A series of questions kept surging through her mind.

Owen Finley brought Mabel Quinn to the door of Daniel Harris’s hospital room. After knocking twice, he pushed the door open.

Mabel followed Owen inside and saw Daniel sitting on the bed with his eyes wrapped in white gauze. The room’s television was on, with sound constantly coming out, indicating that Daniel wasn’t "watching" TV, but "listening" to it.

"Why not change the channel and listen to something else? Aren’t you bored listening to political news all day?" Owen commented.

Daniel replied indifferently, "Didn’t you just leave? Why are you back?"

"I brought someone to meet you." Owen grinned.

Daniel’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.

Mabel spoke up, "Mr. Harris... hello." But this greeting held a completely different sentiment from before.

"Mabel Quinn." Daniel clearly uttered her name with his slender lips.

"Alright, you two chat. I’ll head out first," Owen said, then winked at Mabel. "You can ask Daniel all the questions you want now."

Owen left the room, and silence fell over the hospital room again. Mabel stared intently at the man in front of her, sitting on the white hospital bed with heavy gauze covering his eyes, blocking out all the light.

Could this man be the childhood friend in her memory? Without the distraction of his eyes, her attention focused more on the contours of his face.

She walked toward him step by step, hand involuntarily reaching toward the gauze covering his eyes. Scenes from the past surfaced before her eyes.

When her fingertip touched the gauze, his body jerked suddenly, and he grabbed her wrist, "Mabel Quinn, what are you trying to do?"

This woman had clearly been aloof, trying to distance herself from him, yet now she’s standing before him, making this kind of move.

She remembered the first time she saw her childhood friend, she couldn’t help but reach out to touch his eyes. And back then, even though he couldn’t see, he immediately grabbed her wrist and asked what she wanted to do.

The current scene seemed to overlap with the past.

"Are you... Isaac...? Brother Isaac?" she quivered, all her questions distilled into this one sentence.

In an instant, she felt a sharp pain in her wrist. His fingers were pinching her wrist so tightly, it was as though he might crush the bones.

"How do you know?" Daniel asked sternly. Isaac... that name was a painful part of his past, except for... those two months spent with Grace, which were the happiest days for him.

Since returning to the Harris Family at 15, his past had been erased one by one, and hardly anyone knew about his life before age 15, much less someone who could directly utter his former name.

"I... I used to live in Drumbeat Village too, and once, you and I..." But just as she began, her phone suddenly rang.

"Sorry... I-I need to take this call." Mabel said, but Daniel still tightly clutched her right wrist.
