Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 359 - 372: Returning to the Quinn Family
CHAPTER 359: CHAPTER 372: RETURNING TO THE QUINN FAMILY
Mabel Quinn could sense that the other party was deliberately trying to win her over. Of course, likely because of Kyle’s connection, as she was now Kyle Kinston’s girlfriend, not just a daughter of a branch of the Quinn Family.
Otherwise, with Thomas Quinn’s status in the Quinn Family, why would he lower himself to win her over like this?
"Sorry, I have no intention of switching jobs right now, and I’m just a recently graduated screenwriter. If the Quinn Family plans to venture into the film industry, they should hire a professional senior executive."
Thomas Quinn smiled, "If you don’t want to join the Quinn family business, I won’t force you. Mabel, after all, we’re cousins. Uncle is currently selecting a successor for the Quinn Family. I know you have a past with the Grant Family, so you probably wouldn’t want to see them gain any advantage."
"Then I’ll call you ’big cousin.’ The matters with the Grant Family and me are resolved. If possible, I’d like to visit Granny Taylor more in the future, to fulfill some filial duties. Other than that, I don’t want to get involved." She expressed her intention to remain neutral.
"That’s fine. Granny also misses you," Thomas Quinn said. After all, he was just probing for Mabel’s stance, and at minimum, she wouldn’t support him nor the other side.
For now, at least the minimum was achieved.
Upon arriving at the Quinn Family home, Mabel met Granny Taylor. Though it wasn’t long since the birthday banquet, Mabel felt Granny Taylor seemed to have aged significantly.
"Granny, how’s your health recently..."
"I’m getting old, it’s inevitable to have some ailments. There’s no need for you, young girl, to worry about Granny. Come, let Granny take a good look at you," Granny Taylor said with a smile.
Mabel stepped forward, and Granny Taylor examined her, gently stroking her black hair, murmuring to herself, "Like... really is kind of alike. No wonder he..." Her words slowly faded off, and Granny Taylor seemed lost in thought, as if pondering something else.
"Granny, what am I like?" Mabel asked, puzzled.
Granny Taylor suddenly snapped back, hurriedly saying, "It’s nothing, just getting old, always reminds me of past events. Especially certain mistakes, some are even harder to undo, unable to turn back."
Granny Taylor’s words left Mabel in a daze, not knowing what to say for a moment.
Luckily, Granny Taylor sighed softly and continued, "In the future, come by more often, let me see you more. You... although you’re from a branch family, you still bear the Quinn name, and I regard you as my own granddaughter."
"Yes, Granny, I’ll visit often," Mabel promised.
After chatting with Mabel for a while longer, Granny Taylor felt a bit tired. Mabel waited until Granny Taylor lay down to rest before leaving her room.
As she passed through the front courtyard, Mabel ran into Edward Quinn, the current head of the Quinn Family. This uncle gave off an aura of authority and sternness, she used to be somewhat afraid of him as a child. However, since their last meeting, her feelings toward him had changed; the subconscious fear had faded, replaced by an unfamiliar sensation.
"Have you visited Granny?" Edward Quinn asked.
