Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 47: Breaking the Rules
CHAPTER 47: CHAPTER 47: BREAKING THE RULES
However, with Kyle Kinston standing right in front of her, Mabel Quinn felt embarrassed to eat alone, so she casually asked him if he wanted a bowl of vegetable soup too. Kyle responded straightforwardly with two words, "No need."
Mabel then started eating by herself, but as she was having the vegetable soup, Kyle casually pulled up a chair and sat down next to her, which made her feel a bit uncomfortable.
In the middle of the night, the two of them sitting in the dining room like this—this was something she had never even imagined before.
"How bad is the pain?" Kyle suddenly asked.
She was at a loss for words, unsure how to explain this kind of physiological pain to a man. After pondering for a while, she said, "It’s probably like having a digging machine constantly excavating inside."
Seeing his frown, she quickly added, "Of course, it’s not that bad, actually. It’s within bearable limits. Plus, after drinking the hot soup, I feel much better."
"Is it necessary to drink hot soup for menstrual pain?" he asked again.
"Usually, just having something warm is enough. For me, I normally drink a bit of Black Sugar Ginger Tea, which can warm the uterus, dispel cold, and relieve this kind of pain. But I happened to run out and haven’t had the chance to buy more. The black sugar mixed with ginger can be drunk by just adding hot water; it’s quite convenient. My two roommates also really like to drink it." She said, realizing after she finished speaking that she was talking about this topic with a man, which made her feel a wave of embarrassment, so she buried her head and continued sipping her vegetable soup.
Until she finished the soup, Kyle didn’t say anything more. It was only when Mabel was about to get up and tidy up the dishes, he once again picked her up horizontally.
"I haven’t cleaned up yet," she said in a low voice.
"A servant will clean it up tomorrow," Kyle said, carrying Mabel straight back to her room and placing her on the bed.
"Thank you..." she said. The next moment, her body suddenly stiffened as his fingers touched her stomach. Though there was clothing between them, she could seemingly feel the warmth of his palm.
"Does it still hurt?" he asked.
"Just a little bit," she replied. At least this dull ache was much better than when she had come out of the room previously.
He pondered slightly, as if thinking about something, and after a while said, "Go to sleep."
What did he mean? Was she supposed to just fall asleep like this? But the problem was, with him standing right there, how could she sleep?
But in reality, she did fall asleep!
Mabel herself didn’t expect that as soon as her head hit the pillow, she’d close her eyes and drift off. The only thought crossing her mind before falling asleep was... Kyle’s hand seemed quite warm.
From her even breathing, he knew she had fallen asleep.
Today, it seemed he broke the rules for her once more by actually going to the kitchen to watch the stove for her, even bringing that bowl of vegetable soup to her.
Though her complexion was better than before, it still appeared somewhat pale, which made him frown.
For some reason, he didn’t like seeing her looking weak, as if there was an uncomfortable feeling in his chest.
It seems... he was starting to care more about her. Was it because she was his destiny? Because her life was connected to his life?
