CHAPTER 501: CHAPTER 519: BUYING A PHONE WITH KYLE

The car stopped at a shopping mall in the city center of J City, and Mabel Quinn looked at Kyle Kinston in confusion. Kyle said, "Your phone was destroyed in the explosion, so you need to buy a new one. Also, we’ll have to go to the service center to get a new SIM card."

It was then that Mabel suddenly remembered this, and also realized that she hadn’t been to the studio all day and still hadn’t called in for leave.

So Mabel said, "Can I borrow your phone? I want to call the studio to ask for leave."

"Sure," Kyle handed his phone to Mabel and said, "Actually, Alice Conley should have already told your studio’s manager about your situation."

Sure enough, when the call connected, Mabel mentioned the leave request, and Alice said she had already taken care of it. The manager, Brother Kuang, was planning to organize everyone to visit Mabel, but Alice stopped them, saying Mabel needed some quiet time to recuperate, which prevented a group visit.

"How did your hospital checkup go today?" Alice asked.

"It went well, no issues," Mabel replied.

"That’s good to hear." Alice finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Make sure to get plenty of rest. By the way, is this number your new one? It’s different from your previous one."

"My phone was destroyed in the explosion, and I need to get a new SIM card at the service center. I’m using Kyle’s phone to call right now," Mabel said.

Soon after, Alice exclaimed over the phone, "So, this number is Kyle Kinston’s personal phone number?"

"Uh... you could say that," Mabel replied.

Then Alice started to chatter on about preserving Kyle’s phone number, making Mabel feel both amused and helpless.

Finally, Alice reminded Mabel again to rest well before ending the call.

Mabel returned the phone to Alice, then followed Kyle as they got out of the car and walked into the mall together.

At the mall’s phone counter, there were a variety of phones. Kyle asked, "Which one do you like?"

"Actually, any one will do," Mabel said, as she didn’t really have the mind to pick out a phone at the moment.

"Then let me choose one for you," Kyle said, and had the staff take out several phones to look at. The staff also introduced the features next to them. When Kyle picked up one of the phones, the staff said, "This is the latest model with very powerful features. Most notably, its positioning ability is much more accurate than an ordinary phone.
