Grace Yowell wore simple clothes, looking haggard, with just a simple ponytail. Compared to her previously dazzling appearance, the difference was like night and day.

And Josh Harris, too, had lost the air of a young master as seen in the photos published in the news, with his head lowered, his expression unclear.

However, Mabel Quinn noticed Alice Conley and Dorian Howards seated in the courtroom, and so she couldn’t help but ask Kyle Kinston, "Why are they here?" Furthermore, isn’t it said that people unrelated to the case or family members of those involved can’t come in to watch the trial?

"Dorian knew Alice wanted to see the trial, so he found a way to bring her in." Kyle Kinston smiled as he spoke. It was obvious that his friend wanted to please the lady.

Just not sure how much Alice understands this.

Sometimes, he found it strange; before Dorian met Alice, he wasn’t exactly a playboy but there were women around him. After meeting Alice though, it was as if he abstained from all others just for her, even going thick-skinned to her family’s home and racking his brains to please her parents.

This was unimaginable for Kyle Kinston in the past.

And when he asked Dorian about it, Dorian showed an expression that was hard to describe, then said, "Lucky you, Mabel’s family isn’t harmonious. If Mabel’s parents were like Alice’s, wouldn’t you also want to visit and ingratiate yourself?"

Realizing this, Kyle Kinston thought he too might have to suck up to the elders.

Then, Dorian spoke again, biting his teeth, "You know, I’ve pleased them to such an extent, I’m just short of kneeling in front of her parents and calling them mom and dad, yet that girl still acts disdainful. Tell me, what is there about me that she doesn’t like!"

"But why are you infatuated with that girl? You don’t have the Blood Curse, and she’s not your fated one," Kyle Kinston said.

Dorian retorted, "Well then, why did you fall for Mabel Quinn? Is it because she’s your fated one and she can relieve the pain from your Blood Curse, or do you love her because she’s Mabel Quinn? Is relieving the Blood Curse just an added bonus?"

Now, Kyle Kinston fixedly looked at the person beside him who was focused on the trial. At first, it was just because she was his fated one that he approached her. Later on, gradually, his feelings towards her changed, becoming something indescribable, or perhaps a strong sense of possession. For this, he broke his lifelong vow not to fall in love with anyone, willing to fall for her.

However, after truly falling for her, he realized that she was more important than the pain itself.

What kind of relationship is it between the Kinston Family and their fated ones? Why are they destined to fall in love with their fated ones?

Is it because only this person can relieve the pain, hence the love? Or is it that the person you are destined to love is the only one who can relieve this pain? If it’s someone you won’t love, is it destined that the pain can never be relieved?

"Why are you looking at me like that?" A sudden voice snapped Kyle Kinston back to reality. "What’s wrong?"

"Your eyes looked strange just now," Mabel Quinn said, "as if you were pondering some difficult question." She thought for a while before coming up with this description.

Kyle Kinston chuckled, "It’s not really a difficult question because I already have a very clear answer."
