Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 568 - 589: Trial
CHAPTER 568: CHAPTER 589: TRIAL
It felt as though an invisible pressure on her chest was slowly dissipating, filling her with joy and... a sigh of relief.
It’s good that his eyes can see again.
And when their eyes met, in the adjacent room, Kyle Kinston’s gaze was heavily fixed on the LCD screen. Daniel Harris being able to see was what he hoped for, only this way could Mabel Quinn no longer owe anything to Daniel and fully move on from this incident while cutting the bond between them.
Daniel Harris’s pause was brief, and soon he stepped to the witness stand.
Yowell, who had been silent, suddenly became agitated when she saw Daniel Harris. "Daniel, I really didn’t plant the bomb. I’m a victim too. You’ll believe me, right? You’ll save me, right? We’ve been together for ten years, you won’t just abandon me, right!"
But what disappointed her was that Daniel Harris only raised his eyes, staring coldly at her. That gaze chilled her to the bone, causing all the remaining words to get stuck in her throat.
In the courtroom, Daniel Harris calmly recounted everything, from receiving the photos and calls from Josh Harris to noticing an unusual sound in the box at the cafe and throwing it away, thus reducing the harm.
When faced with the defendant lawyer’s question as to how he could hear the unusual sound, Daniel Harris’s explanation was simple, "Because for 16 years, my eyes couldn’t see anything, so naturally, I became particularly sensitive to sound."
Daniel Harris’s testimony had no loopholes when placed together with Mabel Quinn’s testimony.
The police also presented a series of evidence directly targeting Josh Harris as the mastermind of the case. Of course, Grace Yowell played an important role in luring people out, but she didn’t expect to be caught in the explosion herself.
After giving her testimony, Mabel Quinn returned to her seat and casually greeted Alice Conley and Dorian Howards.
Then, Mabel Quinn softly asked Alice Conley, "Why did you come?"
"I just wanted to see what those two who harmed you look like now," Alice Conley replied. Unfortunately, such cases require several court sessions before a verdict is announced, and she might not be available to watch next time. But seeing Grace Yowell’s face today has made her feel relieved, proving that harming others eventually harms oneself.
Mabel Quinn chuckled, Alice was still so unrestrained and adorable.
Alice Conley continued, "But I was really shocked today. I didn’t expect Daniel Harris’s eyes to actually see again."
"Yes, I was a bit surprised too," Mabel Quinn said, "But now that he can see, I can let go of one concern."
The first court session, after three hours, adjourned for a later verdict. Given the current situation, Josh Harris, as the primary offender, has a high likelihood of being sentenced to life imprisonment, while Grace Yowell’s outcome is uncertain, as per legal statutes and previous cases indicating a lighter sentence is debatable. After all, she might indeed have been unaware of the explosion.
As Mabel Quinn walked out of the courtroom, she saw Daniel Harris standing not far away, steadily looking at her.
Mabel Quinn smiled and was the first to speak, "Congratulations, you can see again."
