CHAPTER 575: CHAPTER 597 THE REASON THEY CAN’T BE TOGETHER

"What’s going on?" Alice Conley asked curiously.

So Mabel Quinn recounted last night’s events to Alice Conley. After checking, she found out that it all started because Grace Yowell said the badge was poisoned, which is why they were so anxious to bring her for a midnight check-up.

After listening, Alice Conley swore, "Damn, Grace Yowell is such a bitch. She clearly made a mistake herself, yet she wants to kill someone else?"

Mabel Quinn agreed wholeheartedly; Grace Yowell really was no good. So Mabel felt no sympathy for her current situation.

"But fortunately, Grace Yowell was just bluffed by that Josh Harris; there was no poison on the badge," Alice Conley said.

"Yeah, fortunately." Mabel Quinn responded, thinking back. It was a blessing in disguise.

After finishing the discussion about the inspection, Mabel Quinn looked at Alice Conley and said, "What about you? What’s going on with you and Dorian Howards? With New Year coming up, do you really plan to keep dragging it out with him?"

Alice Conley pulled a long face, "Ugh, for New Year, he’s going back to Falling City. Maybe his family will set him up with a bunch of matchmaking prospects, and by then he could care less about me." For now, she could only hope.

"Why are you so hopeless? Is it because you feel there’s too much of a social gap between you and his family? So you think it’s not possible? Look at me and Kyle, aren’t we doing just fine?" Mabel Quinn said.

Alice Conley fell silent for a moment, then suddenly said seriously to Mabel Quinn, "Mabel, you know? Dorian Howards is a very responsible person. He’s his parents’ only child, and he’s quite significant to the Howards Family, just as they are important to him. When we used to date, he often talked about the future. He said he hoped the Howards Family could rise to greater heights in his hands; he hoped to have a marriage full of offspring and pass on a better Howards Family to future generations. I really liked what he said about the future, and I think his sense of responsibility is his most charming trait. But if he’s with me, then it would conflict with his sense of responsibility, and the future he talked about would be doomed to not happen."

Mabel Quinn said, "Are you worried the Howards Family would oppose you two being together?"
