Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 592 - 616: Conflict
CHAPTER 592: CHAPTER 616: CONFLICT
The party was halfway through when Mabel Quinn stood up to greet Kyle Kinston and then went to the restroom on her own.
As she exited the restroom, she was suddenly bumped into by a woman in stage performance attire with heavy makeup. The collision sent her staggering, and the clutch she was holding fell to the ground, with several of its contents spilling out.
The woman who bumped into her shot her a sidelong glance and said, "Why don’t you watch where you’re going!"
Mabel Quinn laughed. Did she have "easy target" written on her face or something? Mabel intercepted the woman, "It seems like you’re the one who wasn’t looking. Or were you trying to bump into me on purpose?"
"What did you say?" Evelyn glared at Mabel Quinn. "You bumped into me, and now you’re trying to shift the blame! Don’t block my way to the restroom, or if I miss my performance, can you take responsibility?!"
If the other person had spoken nicely, Mabel might have let it slide. But given the attitude, she decided to stand her ground. "Sure, since you knew you were about to perform, you deliberately caused this. If you don’t want to perform, just say so, and I can have a word with your manager."
"Who do you think you are? You think you can meet with our manager?! Just because you became Kyle’s fiancée, you think you can do whatever you want? You think everyone is scared of you?" Evelyn retorted.
Mabel raised an eyebrow, pleased that the other person knew who she was. "Since you know I’m Kyle’s fiancée, I definitely need to stand up for myself, or people might think Kyle’s fiancée is a pushover, which would embarrass Kyle."
"I don’t have time for you!" Evelyn said, choosing to leave instead of going to the restroom.
However, Mabel clearly wasn’t about to let her off so easily. She lifted her hand and used some of the Self-defense moves Kyle had taught her to block Evelyn’s path.
At this point, Evelyn was a bit anxious. She didn’t have time to waste here, and causing an issue with her performance on such an occasion would lead to severe punishment.
The collision just now was intentional. Having coincidentally encountered Mabel at the restroom, she only wanted to vent her frustration. She didn’t expect Mabel to pursue the issue.
Evelyn dodged and hesitated, afraid that Mabel’s actions might rip her costume, making her movements cautious.
"What do you want?" Evelyn asked, exasperated.
"Pick up my things, and apologize!" Mabel demanded. "Of course, if you’re unwilling, we can find a place where we can discuss this reasonably."
Evelyn couldn’t afford to waste time, especially since she was in the wrong, and Mabel had Kyle behind her for support.
Thus, Evelyn had no choice but to bow her head and say, "I’m... I’m sorry!"
"Could you please say that again? I didn’t hear it clearly," Mabel said.
Evelyn swallowed her pride. Her attempt to vent had only made things worse.
"I’m sorry," Evelyn apologized again, then squatted down to hurriedly pick up the items that had fallen from Mabel’s clutch and handed them back before quickly leaving the restroom.
