CHAPTER 599: CHAPTER 624 VALENTINE’S DAY PLANS

Actually, there wasn’t much work, so the two of them just had tea and chatted. The first trial verdict of the explosion case had already been given before the end of last year, with Josh Harris sentenced to life imprisonment, while Grace Yowell was sentenced to three years in prison.

Some people felt that Grace Yowell’s sentence was too harsh. After all, there wasn’t direct evidence proving that Grace was an accomplice in the explosion case; in some ways, Grace was also a victim.

However, more public opinion viewed everything Grace Yowell did as self-inflicted, and because of Grace’s previous online skirmish with Mabel Quinn, many speculated that Grace intentionally wanted to murder Mabel and the bomb merely exploded accidentally.

Both Josh Harris and Grace Yowell gave up their appeals, so the case was considered settled.

"By the way, this year Valentine’s Day falls on the second day of the Lunar New Year. Speaking of which, it’s your and Kyle’s first Valentine’s Day, right? Have you thought about how to plan it?" Alice Conley asked curiously.

"Have a meal, give Kyle the chocolate I made, then go shopping with him and watch a movie," Mabel Quinn said.

"That’s it?" Alice Conley blinked her eyes; this date plan seemed a bit... ordinary.

"That’s it. I’ve always wanted to spend a Valentine’s Day like this with someone I like." Although it’s ordinary and plain, it feels solid and warm.

"But you’re going to make chocolate for Kyle Kinston yourself? When did you make it? How come you never told me?" Alice Conley found a point of interest and began to unleash her gossiping spirit.

"I haven’t made it yet, but I’ve already booked a place where I can make handmade chocolate on-site using their ingredients. Since Valentine’s Day is on the second day of the Lunar New Year, the shop will be open on the first day," Mabel Quinn said. "But I’ll tell Kyle that I have plans to go shopping with you. If he calls you, make sure not to spill the beans."

Because she wanted to surprise him, she planned to use this as an excuse.

"Alright, I got it," Alice Conley smiled, while also carefully hiding a touch of loneliness in her heart. Her Valentine’s chocolates had never been given away.

She had thought of spending Valentine’s Day with Dorian Howards, then she could give chocolates to the man she liked, just like in the comics, and watch that man who doesn’t like sweets eat all the chocolate.

Unfortunately, their relationship was too brief, and it ended in just over three months, not even reaching Valentine’s Day.

After noon, the two cleaned up a bit and checked the power switches. Then they packed up their things and left the studio.

When Mabel Quinn returned to the Kinston residence, she saw Kyle Kinston looking lost in thought, holding his phone in his hand.

"Kyle?" Mabel Quinn called out.

He seemed to snap back to attention suddenly and looked at her, saying, "You’re back."

"Just now you were..."

"Oh, I just got off the phone with Mr. Kang, talked for a bit, and thought of some past memories, got a bit distracted," Kyle Kinston put away his phone, then said to Mabel Quinn, "I’ve already had the ingredients you need from the menu bought and placed in the kitchen."
