CHAPTER 85: CHAPTER 85 "NEVER ALLOWED IN A LIFETIME

"Don’t you have anything to say to me?" Kyle Kinston’s voice suddenly echoed in the car, his indifferent tone coupled with that icy voice, making the temperature inside the car seem to drop several degrees.

Mabel Quinn’s body trembled slightly. "I’m sorry, I didn’t manage my time well, nearly missed the time we agreed upon."

"Is that all?" His eyes suddenly opened, those deep-set phoenix eyes staring straight at her.

In an instant, Mabel felt as if his piercing gaze had seen through her completely, like something heavy was pressing on her chest, making it hard for her to breathe.

She opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say.

"Do you still have feelings for Soren?" His voice sounded again.

She almost slid off the back seat of the car. "You know Soren?" she reflexively asked, but as soon as the words left her mouth, she cursed herself for being stupid. With Kyle Kinston’s abilities, he probably had already investigated her thoroughly; it wouldn’t be surprising for him to know about Soren.

"Am I not supposed to know him?" he asked back indifferently, seeming carefree yet with a hint of implicit danger.

"No," she quickly responded. Even a fool would know not to anger him at this moment.

He stared at her, slowly lifting his hand to gently brush a lock of her hair away from her cheek and tuck it behind her ear.

His actions were gentle, yet they made Mabel feel even more uneasy.

"Then just honestly answer my question. Do you have any feelings for Soren? Do you like him, or want to be with him? Sometimes, childhood friends’ feelings are harder to forget," he said.

Mabel bit her lip slightly and said, "I... I have no feelings for Soren. To me, he’s just a childhood playmate, a former high school classmate, nothing more." Yes, aside from that, she no longer had any feelings for Soren now.

"You better not have any feelings for him, or for any other man. You must not have any, ever, understand?" he said word by word, his icy voice seemingly striking deep into her soul.

Mabel pressed her lips together but did not respond to Kyle Kinston’s words.

Why is it that it is clearly her own life, yet she has to listen to someone else’s commands? To let someone else tell her how to live her future! The man in front of her burst into her life like a storm, semi-forcefully controlling her life. She had compromised and backed down again and again, but now it seemed even the "forever" was to be controlled.

Despite her rational mind telling her that the "forever" Kyle spoke of might just be offhand remarks, and he’s only interested in her for now, so he dislikes her getting close to other men.

Once he loses interest, he might not even remember her name, let alone care if she likes another man. Yet the repressed emotion had turned into a complex feeling she couldn’t describe, making her unwilling to accommodate him with an insincere response.

Her silence made him narrow his eyes slightly.

In the next moment, he clasped her chin with his fingers, coldly saying, "Answer!"
