CHAPTER 97: CHAPTER 98 IMPOSSIBLE TO FALL IN LOVE WITH

"So who do you love?" His eyes were fixed on her, and she suddenly felt her hair stand on end, as if answering one question would plunge her into eternal damnation.

"I... haven’t yet..." she stammered, responding. She didn’t even have a boyfriend at the moment, so how could she have someone she was destined to love forever?

He pondered for a moment, then uttered a sentence that almost made Mabel Quinn want to bang her head against the wall.

"Then how about falling in love with me?"

That’s right, that’s what he said, the cold voice floating in the air, the original heaviness in the air seemed to subtly transform into an indescribable ambiguity.

Her jaw dropped, and Mabel Quinn stared wide-eyed at Kyle Kinston, seriously doubting if she had heard wrong, "You said... you want me to love you?" she asked uncertainly, even her voice was slightly off-key.

"What, is it so hard to fall in love with me?" His eyelashes lifted slightly, revealing a difficult-to-describe allure beneath the coldness.

Mabel Quinn could only feel her heart pounding violently, all the blood in her body seemed to rush to her forehead. It wasn’t that it was difficult to love, but a man like him was someone she simply couldn’t and shouldn’t love.

Look at her, just accidentally approaching that car in the underground garage out of curiosity, and now she’s forced to "attach" to him, living together, and even signed some inexplicable contract. If she really fell in love with him, she might not even know where she’d end up dead.

A man like him, with ambition, power, status, stunning looks that amaze women, and a personality that instills fear in other men, was definitely not someone for her to love.

The kind of partner she wanted didn’t need to have any extraordinary background or be dazzling, an ordinary person would do, as long as he was genuine enough for her, that was enough.

"Is this a joke? The women who love you, uh... there must be plenty, right? One more or less like me wouldn’t mean anything to you," she said dryly. "If you’re just curious now, once I really fall in love with you, you’d probably find it quite boring, maybe even wish you never see me."

"Do you enjoy speculating?" he said casually. "How do you know that having you would be meaningless to me? And how do you know that if you really fell in love with me, I’d find it boring?"

She was stunned, then, in a moment of defiance, fiercely retorted, "Then would you fall in love with me? If you want me to love you, at least you should fall in love with me too!"

Kyle Kinston’s pupils narrowed slightly, "You want me to fall in love with you?"

Anyway, she had already offended him before. Once offended, offending a second time didn’t make a difference. At this moment, Mabel Quinn fearlessly nodded, ready to face whatever might come.

"Impossible," he denied.

She lifted her chin, "Then it’s impossible for me to love you too."

In an instant, the surrounding air seemed to freeze, and his face turned extremely grim.

When Mabel Quinn returned to her room, her entire body was nearly exhausted. Talking with Kyle Kinston undoubtedly required immense pressure endurance, his every glance and breath would intensify the pressure on her.

But tonight, Kyle Kinston was truly strange, to actually ask her to fall in love with him. He didn’t seem like a person lacking love. And evidently, her response today had angered him. Perhaps, in a few days, she would be ordered to move out of the Kinston mansion.
