Enchantment Of The Night
Chapter 71: The Cafeteria
CHAPTER 71: THE CAFETERIA
Just as quickly as he looked at her, his attention returned to the other teachers.
"This is our cue to leave," Yuan whispered hurriedly to her friend and they stood up and left the room quickly.
Before checking on their dorm rooms, Yuan gave Aaliyah a full tour of the entire school grounds. They came across the warning sign that indicated the Grim Forest was beyond where they stood.
"Why do they call it the Grim Forest?"
"Beats me. I’ve never gone In there before," Yuan replied, then added, "Although rumors have it that very dark creatures live in there, and are watching us out here. I don’t know what kind of dark creatures though,"
"Then it’s better to keep off," Aaliyah said and the girls agreed. As they turned to leave, Aaliyah’s ears twitched a bit and she would have sworn the wind coming from the forest had whispered her name.
It brought chills down her spine. Cold chills that had her Pausing.
"What’s wrong?" Yuan Inquired worriedly.
Aaliyah turned around and stared into the dark Forest, "I thought I heard my name," She said softly.
"Absolutely no way. You must have been imagining it," Yuan also stared between Aaliyah’s suspicious and curious gaze staring so intently at the forest, and the road into the forest itself, "I’m getting chills now. Let’s leave, come on,"
Yuan linked her hand with Aaliyah’s and dragged her away from the place. They’re never coming back here again.
The dining hall was packed with Olympians. Many of them had nothing on their tables and were just there to catch up on things, and a few had bottles in front of them. Aaliyah caught the fresh smell of blood coming from each bottle.
"What would you like to eat?"
Aaliyah looked at the servings, "Anything that is edible and tasty,"
Yuan asked for a bottle only and walked behind Aaliyah as they found themselves an empty seat. Most people’s eyes followed Aaliyah as she went, trying to grasp everything about her physical appearance.
"Ignore them," Yuan mumbled.
"You don’t have to tell me twice," Aaliyah said and began to eat everything on her plate. It didn’t bother her much that she was the center of attention with the way she was so carefree.
Aaliyah did not like being intimidated and wanted to be comfortable.
"There’s Blake Fang behind you. He’s so popular everyone wants to sit with him," Yuan murmured as she stared at the people behind Aaliyah, "And he’s been glancing at you a little too much. Did anything happen between you guys during the games?"
Aaliyah’s face turned sour. No wonder she has been feeling a strong gaze on her back, "Nothing. He won fair and square. If he’s feeling guilty about it, I cannot help him,"
"What exactly happened?" Yuan was even more interested now.
"He helped out through the portal and took the Medallion from me while I was still disoriented," Aaliyah stuffed a piece of meat into her mouth, chewing furiously.
"What? You had the medallion and not him?"
"Yeah. But the game has no rules. He presented it so he’s the winner and I was left with tens of glasses stuck inside of me!" Her eyes were beginning to twitch, "But it’s fine, right? I’m so over it!" She raged out, forcing the meal down her throat before stuffing more in.
She was definitely not over it.
As soon as they were done, they headed to their dorm searching for their rooms with their ID books. It didn’t take long before they found their individual rooms, which were right next to each other.
The happiness that shone in their eyes was so bright it was almost blinding and they jumped into each other’s arms.
"Now I don’t have to worry so much," Yuan said as they disentangled from each other, "Although I wonder if it’s just a coincidence or the school knows what it’s doing. Last year something crazy kept happening and we were so surprised when we finally realized how every crazy event added up to each other. Olympia has never gone a single session without intense drama and panic,"
Every dorm had a bedroom and bathroom. Their luggage had already been brought in by the collectors, and the beds were averagely big. The rooms had been left with enough space for Olympians to decorate and arrange their rooms the way they pleased.
For Aaliyah she settled for a small table and chair next to the window for reading, and arranged her things in the drawer and cupboard provided next to the bed, leaving her with more than enough space to even run around the room.
Classes were going to commence in two days and the best friends spent the remaining two days doing everything together. They went over their timetables and planned when to meet in between classes or if they had a class together.
And for the robes, they were to be worn three times a week.
"You’ll study here for two years only and I also have two years left so we would be graduating together. We will be heading to the library today once classes end by 4 pm and we will be back to our dorms by 7 pm for dinner. We can choose to study more or just have fun after that, it’s all up to you,"
"Depends on how much we studied. But I choose the latter. Tell me there are places to catch fun here,"
"Olympia would never let Olympians get bored. There’s the sports arena...and there’s the Club. Yes, it’s totally unbelievable but the school does have a club."
Aaliyah’s mouth fell open. A club?
"And then, every two weeks there’s something to look forward to. Events are held to keep students energetic and engaged like Door Design Day, scavenger hunting, costume Day, night in the Woods...not the Grim Forest, Professor Meetups, truth or Dare Day, Crazy Scenarios Day...,"
The list went on and on.
"Oh! I almost forgot to tell you about the weekly printing press in this school. They released the latest trending topics at Olympian, and sometimes...they even have the guts to include a professor too!"
"What the...!"
"They call it the Weekly hits. You’ll probably be one of the main topics this week since you’re human. Just warning you,"
"Oh, great," Aaliyah replied sarcastically.
That was not a problem for her. The whole school already knows her. Appearing in the weekly hits would only be a bonus.
It was Monday morning already in a flash, and the whole school was busy. Aaliyah was using the map on her ID to find her classroom when someone bumped into her from behind, knocking the book off her hand.
