Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking
Chapter 777: Unstable Heavenly Domain
CHAPTER 777: UNSTABLE HEAVENLY DOMAIN
--
"Truly?"
"Heavens! How fortunate!"
"The Unstable Heavenly Domain, I have to go!"
"Oh, no wonder why the bugs were going crazy."
"Things are about to become really hectic again."
Cedric heard the spirited discussions around him. He was lost at first; he didn’t really know what this so-called ’Unstable Heavenly Domain’ was.
Fortunately, he was able to search it on the system to learn what it was. He reads and processes information very quickly, so it didn’t take long for him to understand why everybody’s raving about it.
This so-called ’Unstable Heavenly Domain’ was a realm that existed far beyond the five known chaos realms. Nobody, not even the councillors, could pinpoint its true and actual location.
The reason why everybody’s raving about it is because the Unstable Heavenly Domain was a holy land for cultivation.
From the records he saw, those who entered that place are able to observe conceptual laws without facing any backlash. From Planetary Laws to Primal Chaos Laws, everything was fair game.
But of course, it couldn’t be that simple. The Unstable Heavenly Domain had strange rules that limited those who wanted to enter it.
First, the entrance to it appears at a very random location. While there were ways to predict where it’s going to appear, that prediction only goes as far as its general location. The exact coordinates will not make themselves known until it physically appears.
Second is that it’s first come, first served, in a more bizarre way. If a human enters the unstable heavenly domain first, then only humans will be allowed entry. The same goes for other races or creatures.
It’s this rule that truly made it a highly contended place. This rule has never changed since the first time it was recorded. The doors leading to the Unstable Heavenly Domain have appeared multiple times in history, and the rules have remained the same.
And finally, the doors of the Unstable Heavenly Domain will only last for 100 years, period. Not a year, a month, a week, or even a day less or more—exactly 100 years. Anybody who doesn’t leave by the time the door disappears will never be seen again.
So far, many have stayed behind on their own accord, but nobody ever came back.
Even as the doors open again 2,500 years later and the same race enters again, those who were left behind in the past could never be seen. Not even a trace of them remains. It’s like they never existed at all, and only the realm stayed as it was.
Again, this was something that not even the councillors could understand. Or at the very least, not publicized. They just tell everybody that whether to stay behind or not was their choice.
Looking at this, there seem to be too many risks that come with this place, making it sound not worth it at all. However, people still flocked to it like flies. Why? Simply because this was an opportunity like no other.
The chance to directly observe how the concept laws are made and structured was simply too good to pass, especially when in there, they don’t get punished for doing so.
It’s like that place exists in a completely different reality than the Primitive Universe, making the supreme will and its rules unable to reach them there, allowing them to do whatever the hell they want.
This opportunity was so good that even the strongest among each race will mobilize upon knowing this. And the Human Council’s councillors weren’t any different.
’I mean, that’s all good and all, but...’
Cedric wasn’t really tempted. Why? Because the opportunity they’re willing to risk an arm and a leg for was something he could already do on a regular basis.
He could already stare at the very structure of concept laws up to the Heavenly Law level as is. He didn’t need to put himself into danger just for this chance; all he needed was time.
So, it was understandable why he isn’t as excited as the rest.
"Everybody, this was a chance that only happens once every 2,500 years, and it’ll only last for 100 years before disappearing again."
"We’ve already confirmed the legitimacy of this piece of news. It’s real. The doors to the Unstable Heavenly Domain will appear somewhere within the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm."
"We have about 10 years left before it physically manifests. Our army has been briefed about this and is already working overtime to bolster our defenses."
"The Horde are getting more desperate as time goes on. They are sending more and more of their kind in attempts to infiltrate our home so that they can get to it first."
"They’re doing this all for the sake of their sovereign—Crimson Womb Mother."
"She’s been in the Unstable Heavenly Domain twice in a row, and each time she exited, her strength increased massively."
"I know you don’t want to hear this from me; I, too, don’t want to say it, but the Crimson Womb Mother was teetering close to becoming a Primal Origin Lifeform. That’s an ending that we absolutely cannot allow to happen because we and her children are at odds."
"If she succeeds, the very first thing she will do is to wipe us out, completely. I don’t need to explain why that’s bad for us, right?"
Claudio’s warning sent shivers to everybody who listened.
He was right; this was something that they didn’t want to hear from him. And the outcome he just depicted wasn’t something they’d want to happen.
"This is why we implore you to help us," Claudio gently stated. "If you find any strange signs nearby or within your territory, please don’t hesitate to inform us. We will send our people to coordinate with you in this effort."
"We will give everybody a way to directly communicate with us. Please be aware that this communication line is only limited to the discovery of and securing the coordinates to the Unstable Heavenly Domain. Don’t use it for other concerns or business. If you need something else, use our usual communication lines."
"Alright, I’ve said everything that needs to be said. Please don’t forget about this. I’ll leave you all now to enjoy the remainder of this event."
Just like that, Claudio retreated from the stage and left the guests to their own devices.
Nobody left right away. They stayed behind to finish the event, but it was clear that their minds weren’t in the room anymore.
Shortly after Claudio left, the councillors also took their leave. They didn’t say goodbye to anybody; they just got up and left. Nobody dared to complain, though.
It’s only a couple of hours after the councillors left that the first batch of the guests left as well. After that, the others started leaving too.
Cedric took his leave once half of the guests had left. His exit was smooth and easy. Because of the news about the Unstable Heavenly Domain, even the ladies that used to flock by his side stopped coming. Everybody was already making their own plans even before they left the hall.
Back at the comfort of their ship, Cedric changed clothes and made himself comfortable.
It’s here that Quinella finally voiced out her concerns.
"What are your plans, my Lord?"
She didn’t need to clarify herself; Cedric knows exactly what she’s talking about.
"Hmm, nothing for now," Cedric honestly stated. "Truth be told, this is beyond me. An opportunity like that isn’t meant for a small sector lord like me."
"Sorry, you two. But right now, I just want to focus on developing my domain. If there’s a next time though, and I’m not as pressed on time, then why not? I promise I’ll take you both with me."
"You jest, my Lord. Please, don’t misunderstand. We’re fine with anything." Quinella sounded panicked there for a moment.
"I know what you mean. You’ve done no harm." Cedric smiled at her. "But you have to admit that this was, indeed, a very rare opportunity."
"If I wasn’t so occupied with the development of my sector domain, I’d surely take you two with me to join in on the fun. Alas, I’m bound to my duties as the Sector Lord."
This was a lie, one that he didn’t mind telling to his own personal bodyguards to deceive them.
It couldn’t be helped. Even though they’re sworn to him, he’s not comfortable enough to tell them about his secrets. Maybe in the far future when he’s confident enough about his strength to protect his secrets, but right now, he could only make excuses.
Their journey back to the Rising Sun Sector Domain was relatively smooth. They didn’t encounter any accidents or mishaps. They brought enough of a fuel source to keep the ship moving nonstop, so it only took them another week to return to their territory.
Cedric left the ship and was about to say something like ’home sweet home,’ but before he could even say anything, he froze.
He felt something. A strange and very foreign fluctuation. At first he didn’t think much of it, but it lingered enough to nag at his instincts.
It happened somewhere at the very edges of his territory, close enough for him to notice it. And once he analyzed it, his face fell.
"You’ve got to be fucking kidding me."
