Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking
Chapter 791: Cedric’s Interference
CHAPTER 791: CEDRIC’S INTERFERENCE
--
In front of the disbelieving faces of the councillors and the Bug Empress, Cedric didn’t just touch the doors.
He pushed them wide open.
Fwoosh!!!
It’s as if he removed something that’s been plugging the other side shut; winds blew out once the doors were wide open.
These winds scattered and blended with the air of the Primitive Universe, accompanied by chimes of concept laws that are not at all different from the ones they knew.
The passage to the other side of the doors released an even more alluring curtain of aurora, filled with endless temptations for those who are willing to search for their own fortunes.
Most importantly, atop the doors, a set of mystical words written in a stamp seal suddenly formed through bright scarlet gold lights, indicating:
"HUMAN"
That couldn’t be any larger sign that Cedric did what everyone else was trying to do. He secured the entrance to the Unstable Heavenly Realm for humanity.
He didn’t go in, though.
Everybody else in his position most likely would; the temptation was too hard to resist, after all. But no, Cedric remained indifferent to this allure.
Instead, he turned around and faced the bewildered stares of the Bug Empress and the councillors.
Continuing to surprise them, instead of securing his position as the first man to enter the Unstable Heavenly Domain of this time, he raised two fingers and waved them around.
Everybody felt a spatial disturbance. Next thing they knew, the tiny bug, who was supposed to be the one who touches the doors instead of Cedric, appeared.
It was in stasis, unable to move even a single muscle. It was trapped in a small square spatial prison.
Cedric pushed his palms and sent the tiny bug back to the arms of the still stunned Bug Empress, who dumbly caught it.
That’s when Cedric’s trap suddenly sprang free.
The moment the Bug Empress caught her precious child, she suddenly froze. Her pupils dilated as she felt a heavy and encompassing restriction locking her in place.
She instinctively resisted but failed. The restriction was thorough. It locked every movement she could do except for her eyes, which looked around frantically before glaring hatefully at the audacious child who caused her to miss out on her great fortune.
"Just like I thought, you’re bad at space laws," she heard him say.
These words stung sharply. Her pupils dilated in both fury and shame because he was telling the truth.
Cedric, on the other hand, remained fearless and indifferent about her fury. In her current state, she’s as helpless as a lamb in front of him; what’s to fear about that?
He then looked up, and they saw how his bright and alluring golden eyes shone with splendor as if he were inspecting something that none of them could see.
This went on for a while before Cedric’s eyes shifted back to her, and he said,
"Say hi to the Supreme Will for me."
Cedric then pushed his palms, and before she knew it, she found herself outside of the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm, but it didn’t end there.
The Bug Empress felt the restrictions around her loosening up, which she furiously shattered as soon as she was able to do so. But that proved to be a bad choice.
She really should’ve paid attention, because her little outburst was seen by the Supreme Will, who immediately struck her down.
"NO!!!!"
The councillors heard this. In fact, they saw what happened.
The Bug Empress, in desperation, did her best to resist the overwhelming power of the Supreme Will.
She fought back, of course. They even saw how she insisted on returning into the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm but couldn’t since she’s anchored by the Supreme Will.
Forget about entering; she couldn’t even get close. The only way she’d succeed is if she could use the same method she used before. But it seems like that’s a one-off thing, or at least, not available anytime soon.
Besides, the councillors already saw it happen. There’s no way they would allow it to happen for a second time. They will for sure put up more defenses next time.
It couldn’t kill her, but it sure did mess her up. So much so that she was forced to retreat because of her injuries. But not before glaring hatefully at the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm, more specifically, at Cedric, who caused all of this.
In response, Cedric just rubbed his nose. Not really intimidated at all.
"What the fuck!?" Patricia, with her ever-so-glamorous vocabulary, finally reacted. "No, because...what the fuck!?"
"Honestly, same. What the fuck, indeed!" Berk sagely nodded. His eyes twinkled as he looked at the dashing young man before them.
"Holy shit, that actually worked." Urek couldn’t believe it either.
He still paid attention to the Supreme Will, and seeing as how it only glanced in this direction before moving on, he was inwardly relieved.
Gibson also saw this and whispered, "It’s going to stay awake for a while. But so long as we don’t cause too much noise and disturbance, it won’t attack us."
Everybody heard him despite his voice being low. But it was followed by silence again.
All of them stared at Cedric like he grew another head.
"Well, don’t just stare at me. Go in; who knows how long these doors will stay open? I’d hate to see me doing all of that only for you guys to waste this chance."
"You go in first. You deserve it," Nicholas finally said. "We have to regulate this place, anyway. Set up rules so that others won’t cause too much trouble."
"Not interested." Cedric shook his head; he then started walking away from the doors, much to their surprise. "I’ve got mountains of paperwork to deal with. Besides, my people are badly frightened from all of this; I can’t be absent."
"If you can prevent others from causing any more trouble to my territory, that’d be enough payment for my help."
After saying this, Cedric warped away before their eyes, returning to his office and unceremoniously sitting down at his desk before shuffling through the piles of documents that needed his attention.
"Damn, he’s serious, huh?" Berk was flabbergasted.
"Yep, it seems he is." Urek nodded. "Strange kid."
"My machines couldn’t detect any lies from start to finish. He really isn’t interested in the Unstable Heavenly Domain."
"Gibby, start giving out instructions to our people. We need to regulate this area," Patricia, having calmed down from her earlier outburst, suggested.
"We’ve gained too much attention because of our fight. Even the Supreme Will has been alarmed. We can’t afford to be careless. Also, include the wishes of that little sector lord."
"On it," Gibson replied, hands flying across his keyboards already.
"Wait, I’m still confused though. How did he do all of that? I mean, he did say space laws, but, huh? How did he know?" Urek asked, still confused for the most part.
"It was space laws," Nicholas confirmed. "More accurately, it’s space laws at the Heavenly Law level, one that is trained to an excellent degree."
"Absurd!" Urek’s eyes widened. "You’re telling me that a little Universe Master like him could freely wield a Heavenly Law? You’re pulling my leg, aren’t you?"
Nicholas raised a brow and looked at him before replying, "Have you forgotten who he is?"
"He’s Dawnbringer, this era’s uncontested strongest genius," Urek replied, seemingly proud of himself for remembering who that little guy was. But then, he recalled something that made his eyes wide.
In his shock, he smacked Nick’s shoulder and exclaimed, "Oh yeah! The Ascension Tower from your homeworld! He cleared it and was rewarded with a chance to comprehend a Heavenly Law!"
"He used it to comprehend space laws instead of his fire or sword laws! Wicked!"
It’s exactly as Urek realized.
Cedric, instead of elevating either his Fire or Sword Laws to the Heavenly Law level, chose Space Laws.
Others in his stead probably wouldn’t even think of this. Even the councillors assumed that he used the chance on the elements he’s already good at, instead.
But Cedric saw that as a massive waste of this opportunity. It’s because he’s already good at Fire and Sword Laws that he didn’t feel the need to use this chance on either of them. He’s confident enough to elevate their levels through hard work alone...and his eyes, which were the biggest cheat ever.
Space laws, on the other hand, were considered some of the most elusive laws to comprehend. Cedric had a good foundation for it, but even with his cheat, it was very slow.
Therefore, he used this opportunity on it instead. Cedric worked really hard for it, and his efforts were rewarded. In the end, his knowledge about space laws deepened, and he managed to elevate it to the Heavenly Law level before leaving the Ascension Tower.
He kept it a secret from everyone. Let them assume things on their own.
And, as it turns out, that was a wise choice. Had he revealed this information to the public, he would’ve been the target of the Bug Empress right from the very start.
"But how did he predict the Bug Empress’ move?"
