Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking
Chapter 793 - 50 and 1000
CHAPTER 793: 50 AND 1000
--
50 years and 1000 people...
That’s how long the doors of the Unstable Heavenly Domain will remain open and how many people it could host at once; anything beyond is not allowed.
Regardless of the circumstances, the doors to the Unstable Heavenly Domain will only be open for 50 years, and it starts the moment someone pushes the doors wide open. The time in the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm and inside the Unstable Heavenly Domain is synchronized. One day here is one day there, so it’s easy to keep track of time.
1000 individuals. That’s the cap of the population allowed inside the Unstable Heavenly Domain. There was no known limit to the life evolution realm of the people allowed inside. Though the weaker one is, the more the domain tends to be dangerous for them. Besides, the stronger ones wouldn’t easily allow the weak to gain access into this domain; it’s an inefficient use of resources, after all.
The doors will close the moment the domain is full, meaning that there are already a thousand of them inside. It couldn’t be forced open after that—whether it’s pushing the doors wide open or straight-up attacking it, the doors won’t budge, and it’d take a lot more to pry it open forcibly. For those who couldn’t get the hint, the doors might even retaliate against them.
The next time the doors open is when it’s about to disappear again. By then, it’ll only stay open for the next ten years, only to allow those inside to come out; it won’t accept anyone in anymore.
Anybody who fails to come out after that ten-year deadline will disappear along with the domain. Through history, those who didn’t come out were never seen again.
Sure, those who were already inside could come out in the middle of that 50-year time limit. But once they do come out, they won’t be able to enter again in that time frame. They’d have to wait for the next time the doors appeared, which will be 2,500 years later, and the probability of it appearing within the same location as now was abysmal.
This was the full disclosure of the Unstable Heavenly Domain’s mechanics, shared by the Human Council.
The councillors were already inside and are searching for their opportunities in a hurry since they don’t have much time in here.
As expected, all the commotion they and the Bug Empress caused got the attention of many people. By now, there are a lot of people here already.
Those who were smarter and more sensitive to secrets had already flown here and were already lining up to enter the domain. But the staff of the Human Council arrived much earlier than them.
With their leaders having left instructions for them before they entered the domain, the council was able to regulate the flow of people around.
They didn’t do a full-on first-come, first-served basis on who should enter. The priority is for those who are strong and are stuck in their current realms. For this, the applicants must disclose their information with the council, and whether they’re allowed entry or not depends on their qualifications.
It does sound a bit unfair, but that’s just the way it is. The doors to the Unstable Heavenly Domain won’t be open forever; they’re on a time limit here. And within this time frame, the benefits humanity could get from here must be maximized to the best of their abilities.
A year after the Bug Empress had been repelled, the doors to the Unstable Heavenly Domain closed up because the domain was full.
People from all over the realm have gathered here, applying for this one-of-a-kind chance, only to dejectedly return to where they came from after learning that they were already too late.
With the council guarding the doors, nobody dared to cause trouble. Their word was the law and the fundamental truth, one that can’t be contested. Those who tried are warned or punished depending on the severity of their offense.
Still, there are still those who just won’t accept the truth. They are insisting on trying their luck, thinking that they are their protagonist and that the Unstable Heavenly Domain will make an exception for them.
Sure enough, they returned hollowed and defeated; some were even badly injured. The doors didn’t budge, and for those who attacked it enough times, it even retaliated, greatly injuring them.
Their faces were slapped, reminding them that they’re not special at all, and in the face of the overwhelming vastness and mysteries of the Primitive Universe, they were nothing at all.
**
All of this commotion didn’t cause too much disturbance for Cedric and his territory, though.
The promise of the councillors came through. The peace and silence of the Rising Sun Domain was maintained, aided by the council staff themselves.
The staff had been warned by the councillors before they left. They said, in bold and italics, to respect the wishes of the Rising Sun Sector Lord and help him maintain the peace and security in his territory. He’s their benefactor and must not be offended.
With this clear reminder, the staff, of course, wouldn’t dare to cause trouble. In anything, they’d even try to curry favor with the Rising Sun Sector Lord because he’s clearly looked upon kindly by them.
One thing to note is that Cedric allowed his bodyguards (their clones) to enter the Unstable Heavenly Domain.
They didn’t want to at first. Thinking that if their lord wouldn’t enter, then they won’t either. But Cedric admonished them for thinking that way. He’s very aware that he’s different from them.
He could afford to miss out on the Unstable Heavenly Domain’s opportunities because of his eyes, but his bodyguards can’t. He needs them strong enough for their service to him, so he told them to enter that place.
And so they did, but only their clones. Their main bodies remained behind, resolutely accompanying their lord as bodyguards, though not as alert since there’s been no trouble so far.
At the same time, they were also paying attention to what their clones were doing. And it didn’t take long for them to find opportunities that fit their needs.
Actually, Cedric could’ve also sent his wives inside, not just the clones of his bodyguards.
Erica, Chrissy, and Isabella have stabilized their realms to the Immortal level and have been taking their time with their practice. Unlike Cedric and his sons, his wives didn’t possess the same eyes as theirs, so their practice was destined to be slower.
Cedric could’ve had them go inside but ultimately decided against it.
Maybe next time when they’re a bit stronger and Cedric isn’t as occupied with his work as a Sector Lord. Of course, that’s also under the assumption that the Unstable Heavenly Domain will appear within the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm again. Maybe then, he’d be able to accompany them to secure their safety along the way.
For now, it’s better for him to focus on his work while also seizing the chance to develop in relative stability.
He hasn’t forgotten about the fact that he had thoroughly offended the Bug Empress recently.
She probably wanted nothing more than to tear him apart limb by limb, feast on his flesh, suck his marrow out, and torture his soul for the rest of eternity.
He wouldn’t put it past her; he did, after all, stop her from becoming a Primal Origin Lifeform this time. That’s more than enough for her to resent him for the rest of her life.
She would, for sure, start hunting him down. She will send assassins, hurl entire nests at his territory, and might, once again, slip through the cracks to personally deal with him.
All of this was the cost of offending her.
Cedric wasn’t really afraid of her. After all, she sucks at space laws; he could easily escape her clutches when it all comes down to it.
What he can’t avoid is dragging his people into this.
He’s a Sector Lord. He hasn’t forgotten about this. Every action he does will have consequences on him and the people around him.
It is quite possible that the Bug Empress will discover this vulnerability of his in the future, and she wouldn’t hesitate to exploit it to get her revenge.
So, while he’s still ahead, Cedric has to plan for the worst, all without neglecting his personal strength.
Alas, the journey from the Universe Master Realm to the Heavenly Venerate Realm and beyond would be a long and arduous one. Even Cedric himself couldn’t tell how long this will take him.
Still, he must go on anyway. Because at the end of the day, his best reliance was his own strength, not counsel’s.
If he could also elevate his Fire and Sword laws to the Heavenly Law level, then the strength of a Heavenly Venerate should be more than enough for him to be untouchable.
And if he could also elevate his time laws to the heavenly law level as well? He’d have the confidence to keep annoying the Bug Empress for as much as she wants without her being able to do anything to him.
