Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking
Chapter 795: Entering the Unstable Heavenly Domain
CHAPTER 795: ENTERING THE UNSTABLE HEAVENLY DOMAIN
--
Cedric didn’t go there right away...
He was testing things, thinking that maybe this has an expiration date, that the mark will fade eventually if he ignores it. Well, that, and Cedric has tons of work to do as a sector lord, and those are his priorities.
Cedric just doesn’t understand why he, out of all people, was chosen. He clearly shows no interest in the Unstable Heavenly Realm; why would it pick him?
The opportunities within that place don’t interest him in the slightest. He already had a way to stare at the structure of concept laws without provoking the Supreme Will’s ire. He doesn’t need the Unstable Heavenly Realm for that.
So, why him? That’s what he really wanted to know.
But as time passed by, it became increasingly clear that the mark won’t fade. Call it a hunch, or whatever, but Cedric could just tell he won’t get rid of this. It’s stuck with him, whether he likes it or not.
Eventually, he realized that he can’t ignore it anymore. If there were answers to his question, he’d find them inside that place, not here.
So, he did it. He sent a clone into the Unstable Heavenly Domain.
At first, he didn’t think that he’d be able to send his clone inside. He thought that it had to be his real body. But to his surprise, the clone got it without any problems.
There was no need for rituals or waiting; the doors to the Unstable Heavenly Domain didn’t need to manifest either. He could just open a wormhole to send his clone in. That’s it.
He could feel his shared connection with the clone, one that transcends distance. He knows that the clone is now at a very distant place, one that is so far away that it might even lead to what’s outside of the Primitive Universe.
Whether that’s the case or not, this is just what Cedric felt. He actually doesn’t know if this was accurate or not.
Still, it’s clear that his clone wasn’t suppressed or abducted. The clone was fine; he could receive real-time feedback from it, and it’s not restricted in any way, shape, or form.
Upon the clone’s arrival, it immediately began sending him feedback from the connection.
Cedric looked through its eyes, making it almost seem like he’s in there in person. And the interior of the Unstable Heavenly Realm was surprising, to say the least.
Calling it barren would surely be a statement. There are so many ’wrong’ things inside the Unstable Heavenly Domain. However, this wrongness he sees isn’t really outlandish. At most, it’s strange or weird.
Cedric’s no stranger to weird things. He’s used to dealing with them.
However, the strange and weird things he saw in the Unstable Heavenly Realm emit a unique aura that just adds to the atmosphere. And the absence of the Supreme Will here was really apparent for some reason.
In fact, that’s the very first thing anybody with enough knowledge about the Primitive Universe will notice upon arriving here.
And, this might be unique to Cedric alone, but he feels a certain connection with this place. A sense of closeness and familiarity of some sort.
Cedric has never been here before. He’s sure of that. In fact, he didn’t want to be here in the first place. So, this sense of familiarity was a huge flag that he just can’t ignore.
"I’m here," he said through his clone. "What now? What do you want from me?"
Silence is all he got. Which made him feel a bit embarrassed. Of course nobody will answer him; there’s not a single living being in sight. This world doesn’t have a collective consciousness like the Supreme Will either, so who would answer him?
But that also raises another point: if this place truly doesn’t have any form of consciousness, then how did it make an exception for him? How did it bestow on him a mark that allowed him to come and go here as he pleased?
"This is so weird..." Cedric muttered through his clone.
Eventually, he decided to not think too much about it anymore. Instead, he began exploring the domain, trying to see what’s so great about it.
The clone operated on its own with Cedric just observing. It explored at a leisure pace, unhurried and calm. He wasn’t pressed for time. He’s got enough to see everything this place could offer.
In the clone’s travels, he saw numerous phenomena. He saw mystical and enchanting events that made the clone sit down to appreciate.
The charm of concept laws bloomed richly in these events, so much so that it brought great inspiration to Cedric just by watching them.
Most of these phenomena were short and sweet, but they all leave their mark within his consciousness, one that will steadily accumulate until completion.
These were seeds of comprehension, and once they bloom, they will transform into additional concept law insights for Cedric, directly increasing his comprehension and familiarity with specific concept laws.
’So this is what they’re chasing,’ Cedric thought to himself.
Such mystical phenomena happen everywhere. But the real point was, with the absence of the Supreme Will, those who are capable could stare shamelessly at the very structure of concept laws to gain more understanding.
In fact, to get the full benefit of being here, one has to look deeper. Otherwise, they’d just be scratching the surface of everything that’s happening here. They’d leave with more questions than answers if they don’t.
While that’s good and all, Cedric wasn’t really all that impressed.
Sure, being allowed to stare at the structure of concept laws and whatnot sounds cool and all, but it’s already established that Cedric could do that anyway. He didn’t need to be here at all.
And it’s exactly because he could do it at any given moment that he could say that it’s not really as exciting or pleasant as one might think.
What’s the use of being able to stare at the structure of concept laws if you can’t understand how it works anyway?
Sure, it’ll help you see how they work, but what about it? Do you have the ability to interfere with these mechanisms? Can you even understand what’s going on?
Seeing and comprehending were two completely different concepts, you know.
Sure, you can argue that this ability will help you correct your mistakes and allow you to comprehend the concept of law you already knew—a shortcut to strength, if you will.
But the question is, is your potential enough to actually take advantage of this shortcut? Are you really talented enough to apply the thing you learned?
Comprehension and application are also two completely different concepts, you know.
So yes, just being able to see the structure of concept laws sounds nice, but don’t expect that it ends there. Or that, once you’re able to see it, you’d suddenly understand everything that’s going on.
That’s not how it works.
Cedric’s ability to comprehend multiple concept laws at the same time was due to him comprehending concept laws as a whole to begin with. He didn’t focus on one; he looked at them and studied them as a single whole. He’s just biased with the Fire and Sword Laws; that’s why they’re ahead. But this doesn’t mean he neglected the rest either.
Not everybody’s like him. Hell, it could be said that he’s a unique one. His path isn’t something anybody from the Primitive Universe could replicate.
Still, even though this place doesn’t appear as tempting or as alluring to Cedric’s eye, he can’t deny its merits.
Opportunities to comprehend concept laws here were certainly more common compared to outside.
And since he’s already here, he might as well take advantage of this.
Obviously, his first choice was to search for ways to increase his fire and sword laws to the Heavenly Law level, putting them on the same pedestal as his space.
His next priority was time laws. Then, divination laws. After that, the rest of the fundamental elements.
If he could elevate his sword, fire, and time laws to the Heavenly Law level, then he wouldn’t have to be afraid of the Bug Empress’ retaliation—whichwas almost certainly coming.
After delegating the task to his clone, Cedric withdrew his consciousness and allowed it to function on its own.
He was disappointed because he didn’t get the answers that he was searching for, but that doesn’t really affect him that much. He’s grateful to have this privilege, but in all honesty, it’s wasted on him.
It would’ve been better if it was given to someone else. Preferably to a human, obviously. It would be a disaster if this was given to other races, especially the Bug Empress.
For now, it seems that all he could do with it is to leave his clone in there to search for opportunities. After quite some time, it should accumulate enough insights, which should elevate his comprehension of concept laws, allowing him to become stronger faster.
As for the whys and hows, he’d tackle those on a later date. Maybe the reason why he doesn’t have answers yet is because he’s too weak to know.
Or, maybe he’s just making this a bigger deal than it should be. He could’ve simply been the lucky one who received it, plain and simple.
Either way, only time can tell.
