Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson
Chapter 202: The Rabbit’s Trick
CHAPTER 202: THE RABBIT’S TRICK
"Hmm, the trail ends here." Mirelle furrowed her brows and glanced at the suspicious, broken door up ahead.
"I’ll be damned if you tell me nothing is hiding behind the door." Claudia snickered when she spotted two beefy men standing guard by the broken door.
If the interior behind the broken door was nothing, then why were there two beefy men around?
Who could be that spendthrift in the slum to hire these two to act as bodyguards?
"Then let’s just blast through them." Mirelle stretched her fingers. She was more than ready to kill a few villainous scums. These people were scornful of society and didn’t deserve to live.
"If you blast through them, then we’ll just alert the enemy." In contrast to her eagerness for violence, Claudia snorted.
"Redflow is a Platinum Rank Assassin. Even just a tiny little bit of amiss was enough to raise his suspicion and alert him to the maximum." She explained.
Almost immediately, Mirelle subdued her aura and stayed her hand.
She was more used to killing the enemy in the open, rather than discreetly or through other unscrupulous means. She only had her fair share of killing experience in actual wars.
"Then what do you suggest we do?" Mirelle took a deep breath and asked.
"Those two aren’t going to just let us go through the door without making any commotion." She argued.
"And this is why you’re an amateur to the struggles of low beings." Claudia rolled her eyes.
She couldn’t fathom how the Crown Prince was more knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with these situations than someone like Mirelle.
’No wonder the Crown Prince’s patience had run out with Mirelle.’ She was marginally appreciative of Mirelle’s assistance in allowing her to have leverage to become free.
But that was about it.
Capturing Redflow would be considered her repaying them the favor.
At the very least, Claudia valued her own life more than a fellow competitor who was of even higher rank than her.
"This is how we’ll enter," Claudia said and began loosening the fabrics of her clothes. Soon, her slender shoulders were exposed, and her skin was very smooth and silky.
Upon seeing her body, Mirelle’s eyes widened in disbelief. She wasn’t lusting or interested in her body, but rather startled by her body condition.
"How did you maintain your skin?" Mirelle asked in a baffled tone. Based on Claudia’s experience, she shouldn’t have such fair skin.
And no, this wasn’t her prejudice or discrimination.
"Our Rabbit Tribe is always known for its beauty. The scars and filth I’ve sustained throughout the year have continuously recovered." Claudia sneered and inspected Mirelle’s body for a brief moment.
A look of disdain could be seen in Claudia’s eyes. "As expected of a Granny’s body. Filthy and soggy from top to bottom."
Instantly, Mirelle became triggered.
Previously, Claudia herself had lashed out to tell Leonard to stop with the jokes.
Yet in the blink of an eye, Claudia went ahead and addressed her as granny.
What was the meaning of this?
Could it be that Cluadia suffered from some sort of sickness in the head?
While she remained distracted by her words, the former had already finished stripping into very loose clothing.
Some of them were quite transparent, but she still made sure to cover her private parts. All she revealed was her slender arm and legs, which were enough to intoxicate and seduce lustful men.
"What are you waiting for?" Claudia suddenly asked. "Start loosening your clothes as well."
"I-I..." Mirelle pursed her lips. She had never exposed her fair skin in such an open manner before.
The only time it happened was during wartime, when she had her fabric ripped from the magic residue. But even then, she wouldn’t be exposed because nobody had the time to be lusting or leering at her skin during such a circumstance.
"Stop wasting time and strip!" Claudia demanded. "The longer you waste, the more likely Redflow would escape. Do you think the trail I’ve set was flawless?"
To ensure they could pinpoint where Redflow was hiding, Claudia made sure to spread the vial everywhere.
And it just so happened that the vial reacted intensely at a porridge stall within the slum.
Although the guards were informed beforehand to remain composed and ignore the matter until they confirmed the person had exited the vicinity, Claudia didn’t dare to underestimate Redflow’s alertness.
"Fine!" Mirelle closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Soon, she snapped her fingers and made her clothes rather loose. Still, she refused to expose too much of her skin, so she used mana to help give some coverage.
"What a useless woman." Claudia rolled her eyes at her behavior.
How many women had she seen in the past who were forced to expose every part of their bodies to survive?
Someone like Mirelle would never understand their plight!
"For the next stop, just follow my lead and keep quiet. Also, control that fiery temper of yours." Claudia warned sternly. "I’m not tolerant enough like the Crown Prince. This is my survival, and I refuse to let you sabotage it."
"I understand," Mirelle nodded her head and obliged to the warning.
Although Claudia appeared to be scolding her ruthlessly, the underlying meaning was actually something else. Claudia wanted to remind and inform her that the Crown Prince was already being very lenient and generous to her.
Despite her numerous actions, he still tolerated her.
However, the final straw that completely alienated their relationship was that Mirelle actively sought her freedom.
She was heartless, but her heart was still warm.
’Once I leave, you should try your best to win back his favor. Someone like him who’s willing to care for weak women isn’t all that bad.’ Claudia thought to herself. She had witnessed how Leonard rescued them.
Initially, she thought he only rescued them to play and fool around with them.
But she was completely wrong!
Not only did Leonard grant them freedom, but he also made sure they got to live a better life. The sincerity alone was something that those rescued women could sense. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have decided to stay as workers for him.
