Enslaved To The Alphas
Chapter 138: Trapped
CHAPTER 138: TRAPPED
Lance slipped into the room quietly, his eyes moving between Emira and the two men beside her. The air was heavy, filled with the unmistakable scent of heat and their arousal.
His jaw tightened. The witch was either too cunning or too reckless-to leave two unmated wolves guarding an Omega about to enter heat?
If jealousy had driven her, this was the perfect way to ruin her master’s plans. Two guards losing control would end everything without her casting another spell.
But if it wasn’t jealousy, then it was probably something else. His eyes glowed as he finally stepped behind the two werewolves. The two fools had not even realised that he had already entered the room.
He growled low in his throat. The vibration hit Jace and Owen before they even realized it, and both froze mid-step and whipped around to face him.
Their heads snapped toward the sound, and their eyes widened in shock. Standing before them was a wolf as tall and broad as any man, his black gaze burning with fury. The sheer presence made them stumble backward. How had they not known about the wolf coming in?
"Alpha..." Owen’s voice trembled, but there was no hesitation in their next move. Almost instantly, both men shifted, their forms elongating, muscles tensing as they lunged at him simultaneously, teeth bared and claws outstretched. The only way they could win over this wolf was to play dirty and attack simultaneously.
Lance didn’t move his stance. He simply raised a massive paw and swatted them aside with a single motion. The two flew through the air like houseflies, crashing into the far wall with heavy thuds.
Both hit the ground hard, groaning and scrambled to their feet, but did not immediately move to attack again.
The wolf’s growl deepened, resonating through the room and ignoring the two small wolves, he padded over to Emira who was even now sleeping in the corner... However, the wolf had barely taken two steps when his nose twitched sharply and his hackles rose.
Something was...very wrong. The heat was there and so was Emira’s unmistakable scent- but beneath it was something vile, twisted and unnatural.
His ears flattened as a low warning growl rolled from deep in his throat. Instinctively, he stepped back, fangs bared, senses straining as he realized it was probably a trap.
Before he could react further and step away, a sudden shimmer of light erupted around him, encircling him like a cage.
His eyes narrowed as he watched the figure on the floor shift and as expected, it was not Emira. It was the witch who had taken Emira’s form... She laughed at his narrowed eyes and taunted, "Animals are animals, after all. My master kept saying that I needed to be careful. But really, he seems to be too concerned. Animals cannot have the intelligence of humans even if they can have human bodies... Alphas or not. Did you really think it would be so easy to take the Omega from my grasp Wolf?"
Lance’s lips curled slightly and he bared his fangs, but he didn’t lunge or try to move. Instead, the wolf stared patiently at the woman in front of him, as if learning her features but in reality, he was perusing the surroundings.
The smell of pheromones was too strong, which meant that Emira was indeed somewhere here. All he needed to pin point where she was and then he would find a way to leave this cage that had sprouted around him.
But the witch was too happy about her victory to notice his alertness and continued to gloat, mocking him, "Do you know what was the funniest part? The moment you entered last time, I already knew you would come again. I left a little mark for you last time and you didn’t even know. A simple enchantment, barely noticeable, but just enough for me to track your every movement. You were so sure of your plan of rescuing here that you’ve even come in without any backup... and now here you are, trapped in my little circle.
The witch rubbed her hands together in delight, clearly savouring her own cleverness. "My master will be very pleased, I’m sure. Capturing the Omega so cleanly, fooling an Alpha and capturing him, it’s almost too easy. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome."
The witch paused then and slowly came closer to him, within the circle, Tell me, wolf, what pack do you belong to? Stormhold, isn’t it? And they are known for their fierce warriors... Tsk tsk. What fierce.. I’ll give you a chance to survive, if you’d like... If you betray your pack, perhaps I will let you leave this room alive. But of course..." She let the words hang, a venomous promise. "...you would have to make a blood vow for that. Swear your loyalty to me, and only then would your life be spared. Would you do it, I wonder?"
Lance shook his head and instead started to walk forward towards the witch... For a moment, she panicked and stepped back, but then she seemed to find her bravado and smiled," Do you think you can intimidate me with your size?"
"This is my design, my magic. Every move you make is already accounted for. Look."
As she said this, the witch spread her hands and stepped backwards, through the cage of light and then taunted him," Do you want to attack me? Come on then. Follow me... But remember, the moment you even touch that circle of light... you will burn. Try as you might, my spell is complete, and my trap is flawless. No human or wolf can walk out of the magic spell I have cast."
Ignoring the wolf, she then turned to the two smaller wolves," Shift from your filthy animals and go get ready to welcome my master. He will be coming soon...As for this alpha, if he tries to escape, get close to the cage, sprinkle this water on him... It will cause him unbearable pain and not let him die. Am I clear?"
