CHAPTER 95: CHAPTER 95: ADRIAN GRANT: I LIKE EXCITEMENT

The voice-activated light on the porch went out due to the prolonged silence between the two.

"Do you have anything else to say?" Blake Lockwood asked, his patience running out.

Trevor Hawthorne toyed with the cigarette between his fingers and retorted, "What do you want to know? If I slept with Vivian Quinn or not?"

Blake Lockwood laughed upon hearing the question.

"Why would I care about that? Trevor Hawthorne, I don’t care about you that much, just like you don’t care about me."

Considering he hadn’t explained all this time, why would she still ask?

Trying to butter up someone indifferent, how pointless.

Besides, Blake didn’t believe Trevor Hawthorne could remain chaste just because of a marriage certificate during his two years in Solis.

The unruly and defiant look on Trevor Hawthorne’s face faded: "Are you sure you want a divorce? Blake Lockwood, think it over. You’re only in your early twenties, and your family relatives are eyeing your family’s property covetously. Are you sure you can protect it on your own?"

"After our divorce, whether I can protect the assets my parents left me isn’t something Young Master Hawthorne should concern himself with." Blake placed her hand on the doorknob, issuing the eviction order, "When do you think you can have the divorce agreement ready? If you’re busy, I can find a lawyer to arrange it, and book your schedule in advance."

"Fine, if you want to leave, then leave, just don’t cry later!"

"Whoever cries is a dog."

-

"Did you talk it over?"

Eleanor Winslow heard the door close and poked her head out of the bedroom.

"This is just the beginning, how can it be over?" Blake Lockwood lay down on the sofa.

Eleanor humbly asked for advice, "How did you persuade Young Master Hawthorne to divorce?"

Blake Lockwood chuckled: "Eleanor, Trevor Hawthorne and I are not the same as you and Adrian Grant. You and Adrian grew up as childhood sweethearts; Trevor and I were thrust into a family marriage. Trevor doesn’t care who sits in the position of Mrs. Hawthorne, there’s no need to persuade him for a divorce."

-

In the blink of an eye, it was Saturday.

In true form, Mia Winslow did not cancel her birthday party despite being injured.

Jude Winslow was being dragged around by his parents to entertain guests, looking very impatient, and suddenly caught sight of Eleanor, rushing over.

"Eleanor, why are you here? Go back quickly!"

Jude Winslow pushed Eleanor outside, speaking in a hushed voice and looking around as if afraid someone would see her.

Eleanor felt a mix of emotions seeing him protect her.

"Afraid I’ll be bullied?" Eleanor smiled, "Don’t worry, it won’t happen."

Jude Winslow glanced at Blake Lockwood standing next to them, silently assessing Blake’s combat prowess, and awkwardly said after a few seconds, "I’ll treat you to dinner later."

Blake Lockwood: "?"

With a puzzled expression.

Jude Winslow felt alarm bells ringing: "You don’t think I have feelings for you, do you? I don’t, I didn’t! You protect Eleanor, and I’ll treat you to dinner as a thank you!"

Eleanor felt exasperated; if her hands weren’t incapacitated, she would’ve knocked on Jude’s head to see what was inside.

Rarely, Blake Lockwood didn’t tease anyone and said, "No need for dinner. Just introduce me to a few handsome guys to cheer me up later."

"Huh? Oh, okay, sure."

Jude Winslow stopped trying to leave, pulled Eleanor aside, and whispered, "Eleanor, those pretty boys outside are no good; they’re not even close to Adrian Grant! They’re not as smart as me!"

"You finally realized Adrian Grant is no good? Not being his advocate anymore?" Eleanor teased him.

Jude Winslow’s eyes darted around, saying nothing.

He suddenly stopped walking a few paces ahead, turned slightly to the two people behind him, and said, "Adrian Grant is here."

Eleanor and Jude stopped in their tracks.

Jude Winslow instinctively checked Eleanor’s expression.

Eleanor simply smiled gently: "Let’s go; we should head inside."

As if she hadn’t seen Adrian Grant at all.

Inside the hall.

The air was filled with the scent of perfumes and the sheen of dresses, the lights dazzling.

Mia Winslow was surrounded by a group of socialites, speaking with her left hand in a splint and bandaged, starkly contrasting with her lake blue gown today.

Her right hand supported her injured left hand, frowning occasionally as if the wound pained greatly.

Eleanor planned to show her face to Eugene Winslow to indicate her presence, only to be suddenly pushed from behind. Luckily, Blake Lockwood was prepared and caught Eleanor in time.

Almost simultaneously, Eleanor’s lower back was supported by a warm large hand.

Eleanor turned to look, gazing into Adrian Grant’s handsome face.

She immediately stepped aside, avoiding Adrian Grant.

Adrian felt his palm empty, his heart feeling desolate.

His gaze shifted from her delicate and aloof face to Eleanor’s hands, then onto Pearl Morgan, squinting dangerously.

The one who acted was Pearl, not seen in a long while!

"What do you want to do?" Blake Lockwood turned to grip Pearl’s wrist.

Pearl Morgan looked justified: "Blake Lockwood, I should be asking you; suddenly grabbing my hand, what do you want?"

"Oh, so it was just a dog bumping into us." Blake Lockwood released her wrist suddenly.

Pearl Morgan almost fell due to the force of the release.

"Who are you calling a dog?"

"Whoever responds is the dog."

Pearl Morgan had lost face recently over issues with university admissions and hadn’t dared to show herself at home. Today, hearing about the issues between Mia Winslow and Eleanor, she found some dirt on Eleanor and came out to socialize.

"I’ll settle scores with you later!" Pearl fumed, glaring at Blake Lockwood, then turned to Eleanor to harass her, "Eleanor, after injuring Mia’s hand like that, you still have the face to come to her birthday party? You’re malicious and shameless!"

Pearl spoke loudly, immediately capturing the nearby audience’s attention.

Rumors of Eleanor hurting Mia had already spread wildly, and Pearl’s mention only fueled the guest’s sarcasm:

"Mia, if you ask me, some people are really no good at such a young age!"

"This is assault with intent, if you call the police, Eleanor could get sentenced!"

"Mia, I think you’re just too kind-hearted!"

...

Yvonne Vance glanced at Eleanor awkwardly and told the lady beside her helplessly, "Oh well, no matter what, Eleanor is Eugene’s child, and as you know, being a stepmother is tough..."

This statement suggested it wasn’t Eleanor’s first or second time bullying Mia.

Without Mia lifting a finger, Eleanor was already under verbal attack!

"Young Master Grant, we heard you’re getting divorced from Eleanor? I think it’s a good decision; it’s heartwarming when your partner is simple and kind, otherwise, it’s scary to sleep at night!" a lady suddenly said to Adrian Grant.

Everyone turned to Adrian Grant.

Many were eyeing the position of Mrs. Grant, waiting and hoping for Adrian and Eleanor’s divorce!

Adrian Grant was standing behind Eleanor, exuding elegance and nonchalance, with a faint smile: "I like excitement."

Eleanor: "...?"

Everyone else: "..."

Eleanor wore a ’what nonsense are you speaking’ expression on her face.
