“This is the surveillance footage of him coming to find me on his initiative.”

Chi Yue was resistant; she knew such things could not be trusted but, out of curiosity, she still took the tablet.

The surveillance video had no sound, but she could see Fu Rongyin entering the hotel and then Mr. Qi’s room.

What they discussed was unclear, but Fu Rongyin handed over a document to Mr. Qi, who, after reading it, wept profusely and kept nodding earnestly.

The video ended there.

Chi Yue methodically placed the tablet back in front of him, “What does that prove?”

“He came to me on his own, wanting to come home with me, and brought the paternity test of him and me.”

Chi Yue was shocked inside but kept her composure, “There’s no sound in the footage; you can say whatever you want.”

Mr. Qi knew Chi Yue didn’t believe him, but he wasn’t angry. He said, “If you don’t believe it, come with me to the engagement party to see for yourself.”

After much consideration, Chi Yue followed Mr. Qi.

Fu Hanyan was so anxious that she called Nan Yuan and relayed to him the matter of Mr. Qi’s visit.

Nan Yuan was silent for a long while before he said with empathy, “I will treat you well in the future.”

Fu Hanyan didn’t understand at first, but after hanging up, she recalled what Nan Yuan had said to her a while ago.

“If I were to crash a wedding, would you leave with me?”
