Chapter 131: The Eldest Aunt’s Cousin Has Arrived
CHAPTER 131: THE ELDEST AUNT’S COUSIN HAS ARRIVED
Glancing at the mess in the living room, Gu Tiantian headed straight to the bustling kitchen.
"Grandma, I’m back!"
As she raised her hand to push the door open, she realized she was still wearing a hospital gown.
Her hand suddenly relaxed, and when Grandma Gu peeked out, Gu Tiantian dashed into her room, shutting the door with a bang.
She quickly found a set of casual clothes from the closet and changed, hiding the hospital gown before finally opening the door again.
Grandma Gu came out of the kitchen with a pot of rib soup, her wrinkled face beaming with smiles as she saw Gu Tiantian.
"Tian Tian, you’re back!"
Gu Tiantian hurried over, taking the pot of rib soup from Grandma and placing it on the dining table.
"Grandma, you sit, I’ll get it!"
Grandma Gu sighed, knowing that if she didn’t comply with her granddaughter today, her granddaughter would be upset for quite a while.
And she also knew her granddaughter was unhappy whenever she cooked for the Boss’s family!
But, what can she do!
Though her eldest daughter-in-law wasn’t anything good, she was still the Gu family’s daughter-in-law.
As for Gu Liang, he was her grandson after all.
Rarely seen throughout the year, naturally, she wanted to make some good food for her grandson when he came.
Yet thinking of the indignities Tian Tian had faced at her aunt’s place over the years, Grandma Gu felt worried again.
"Yue Xin, call Liangliang over for dinner!"
While setting the tableware, Grandma Gu spoke to Zhang Yuexin, who was munching on an apple on the sofa watching TV.
Zhang Yuexin, full of impatience, slowly rose up.
"Liangliang, come on, it’s time to eat!"
Gu Liang stared blankly at the TV, completely ignoring his mom.
Zhang Yuexin frowned and called out again.
"Liangliang, your grandma made corn rib soup, come and eat."
Gu Liang frowned, his back to Zhang Yuexin as he continued watching TV.
"Not eating, same old thing every day at home, what’s so good about it!"
Better not eat, eating only proves he’s an ungrateful brat.
Gu Tiantian wasn’t being stingy; she couldn’t forget Gu Liang hitting Grandma Gu last year.
It’s not the kid’s fault, but he’s been taught poorly by his mom.
Fixing the meal to make Zhang Yuexin and her son leave early, Gu Tiantian served four bowls of rice.
Looking at the three dishes and one soup, Zhang Yuexin showed a bit of smile.
"Seems like you two grandkids are living well, huh? Look, corn rib soup and braised pig trotters, much better than our life!"
Saying this, Zhang Yuexin looked at Gu Tiantian, eyes filled with expectation yet hiding some contempt and ridicule.
"Tian Tian, did you get a raise?"
Before Gu Tiantian could speak, Zhang Yuexin quickly added.
"If you got a raise, don’t wait half a year to pay again. Your uncle and I are financially tight right now, and although Sister Yunyun graduated, having just entered a company, she needs money for many things. Your brother Liangliang is at a stage where he needs money, and I... I just wish I could split one dollar into two!"
Listening, Grandma Gu glanced at her granddaughter, Tian Tian, who was focused on eating, and sighed.
"Yue Xin, Tian Tian just started working; she’s still a newcomer, doesn’t have much money."
"Didn’t we agree on paying back every six months?"
Ha!
Pay back every six months?
If she hadn’t seen Gu Tiantian wearing a hospital gown, Zhang Yuexin might have thought she wouldn’t suggest it this time.
Afford hospital bills but can’t repay debts?
Who would believe that?
