EX-Grade Ability Card: Tower Ascension with My Absolute Restoration
Chapter 115: Twisted Mind
"I was once called Zhang Tian, a normal ascender who wants nothing more than to stop the violence it this great Ethereal Tower…" the Twisted Principality paused for a while as it starts introducing itself, the very existence that was once among the great beings reaching floors way beyond the comprehension of humanity on Earth, revealing a smile on its cracked, decaying face, a masculine one that appears to be once filled with the vigor and hope of youth.
Such appearance though is now completely covered by the vicissitudes of life, his eyes once shining now nothing but a void that appears to hold the very abyss itself, yet deep within such terrifying view, a single tinge of light shines through, like a small tinder of crimson fire refusing to draw its last breath even amidst the strongest of rains, winds and snows.
"Well, look at the irony now, hahaha, living as a monster whose sole desire is to create more and more violent encounters… and the worst part is that I start enjoying it as well…" the Twisted Principality continues as it waits upon the young man's moves, the relaxed, carefree way of speaking despite his posture being completely lacking in any openings making Azrael feel like this individual is taking the fight more seriously than before.
"Anyways, enough with the dramatics, young man of the human race, tell me your name so that you will be remembered for a long time to come should you fall here!!" the Twisted Principality asked as for the last time, he smiled in all of his relaxness before he eyed the figure in front of himself once again, giving the young human who definitely didn't even live a thousandth of his own life, yet standing in front of him with such confidence that not even the greatest talent of the same generation as himself has when facing him as an opponent.
"Of course, should I be the one who meet my demise here, then I hope that you will return this favor as well…" he then curtly bows as if practicing some sort of western manners, making the young man feel quite peculiar as completely different from his expectations due to the description of the guide when introducing this monster, he does seem to be more of an amiable individual rather than a wrathful and vengeful one.
Deciding to honor this little request of the monster in front of him, Azrael then smiles as he felt even more burden to his body, feeling like he can only hold on for no more than a couple dozens of seconds before the effects of the Demonic Energy starts dissipating.
"Azrael… Azrael Weiss… a mere slow ascender who reached the second floor of the tower after a decade of hard, exhausting work right on the precipice of death…" the young man introduces himself with a trace of self-mockery in his tone, making the Twisted Principality laugh once again as he replies.
"If you're a mere slow ascender, then I'd rather choose being slow like you, young one!! You're no normal second floor ascender if you can fight on equal grounds against me after all!! HAHAHAH!!!" the monster exploded as it looks up at the skies for a few seconds before it felt a familiar sensation making his own skin tingle as his hair raises in wariness.
Feeling so, his entire body twisted and turned on the spot as he disappears from the place he was previously standing on, his towering body casting shadows upon the young human as he appears right behind his opponent, his hand balled into a fist ready to smash at the body standing right in front of him.
Without missing a beat though, Azrael immediately turns around realizing the source of the shadow behind him, his swift reflexive motion far exceeding that of anyone in the second floor can even dream to rival, the sole reason why the Twisted Principality of Permanence is capable of keeping up is the very fact that just like the Island Orca Azrael had previously fought against, he is a being that isn't supposed to be in the lower floors at all.
"Such a pity that this state of yours is about to end now…" feeling the diminishing strength on the young man's fist, the Twisted Principality couldn't help but shake his own head in pity, making the young man feel quite the mixture of being aggrieved and confused at the same time.
Seeing the look on the young man's eyes, the talkative monster couldn't help but start explaining even without someone asking him, the answer to the question never thrown something so simple that it made the young man feel that such answer is quite surreal.
"Well… this is the most entertained and alive I had been for the past few millennia… it would be such a waste if I kill such a talent just like that, and besides…" pausing as he let go of the young man's fist, the Twisted Principality steps back, disappearing from Azrael's sight before he reappears moments later, his words allowing the young man to trace where he is currently.
"I'm old, too fucking old, kid, and I think it's time for us old-timers to give the new generation a push in the back…" said the monster with its cracked face seemingly shedding the stone like skin, and not only his own face, but his body as well, seemingly becoming more and more liberated from such pathetic, sealed state as if he never lost his entire power from his enemies at all.
"I'll help you improve your control of that rampaging energy inside of you, and in exchange of that, let's make a trade, make sure that your strength will be enough to give me a glorious fight to my own death…" the monster, his voice filled with pained boredom as if his immensely vast life force grants him a severely long life of sheer emptiness that claws and grinds through his very sanity itself.
