CHAPTER 76: A BLESSING IN DISGUISE

’Tsk... did I got too greedy?’ wondering to himself as he starts thinking of ways to solve the current problem in his body, the young man then mused to himself, well aware that the reason this happened to him is due to him using those three S-Grade techniques simultaneously, however, while he knows the cause, he still doesn’t have any idea how to fix it, yet.

’It would be more convenient if I can talk with Xue Qingyue, but given my current state...’ feeling his body not even having muscles that can allow him to speak, Azrael mentally shook his head as he felt like communicating in this state will be troublesome, hence why he decided to just push on for now and see where this disaster will bring him to.

’I should probably do something to assure her that I’m still alive’ oddly enough, despite his current state lacking all the facilities in which he can sense the world around him, Azrael can still somehow sense the enigmatic beauty’s existence near him, the only indicator of that being the familiar feeling he has inside him, sensing something similar to his Immortal Energy but with a different feel to it.

Urging himself to increase his recovery, he starts expending Immortal Energy to recover the most minuscule of muscle to allow him to nod just to show Xue Qingyue that he is still alive, this process taking a painful amount of Immortal Energy when it would usually just spend just a meager amount.

Meanwhile, seeing that some muscles were recovering on Azrael’s body, the once panicked and near despairing Xue Qingyue had her eyes widen in disbelief, along with a mix of excitement as she never would have expected that this young man would survive even this catastrophic encounter that he brought himself in.

However, seeing as he can only do as much as nodding before the muscular tissues starts tearing itself apart once again, the lady couldn’t help but panic, however, now knowing that he is still alive with his mind clear enough to even send her a message, she thought that there is still a chance for him to get out of this predicament.

’Not to mention getting out of this, he’s most likely going to gain something from accomplishing such feat...’ she thought to herself as the tries to jog her mind and remember whether there is someone who is also capable of simultaneously practicing three techniques of such high grade without getting themselves killed, however, this sort of thing is so significant and absurd that she doubts she will forget it if someone other than this young man really was to perform something like that.

"I can only leave it up to fate now..." she mutters to herself as she knew that there’s nothing she can do in this situation, as even the greatest help an expert can usually offer a weaker individual in this situation, that being transferring some of their Immortal Energy, will be detrimental for him in this state.

Still, feeling like she should do something, Xue Qingyue decided to halt her meditation for now and take her time to carefully observe any changes that are happening to Azrael’s body so that she can respond to it should any danger befall him.

’Not like I can do anything though, haha, some sort of expert I am...’ she thought mockingly to herself as she sat down, her gaze not leaving the body constantly being torn apart in front of her, hoping that sooner or later, he would recover from this state.

As this ethereal beauty is worrying about his safety though, Azrael himself suddenly starts wishing that this state continues for long, as the surprise made him nearly lose his focus on meditation once multiple azure floating screens appear in front of him, notifying him of the drastic improvement he is currently experiencing.

Minutes, then hours passed as Azrael continued to suffer and progress at this rate, simultaneously hoping that this encounter comes to pass while also wishing that it last for even longer, as the progress is just too tempting for him to abandon it just from excruciating pain.

As he continues though, he gradually starts adapting to everything happening in his body, making him feel like his entire being is gradually transforming as he continues to push through using these three S-Grade techniques simultaneously, his strength increasing by the second as his body gradually starts recovering from the morbid state he is previously in, shocking Xue Qingyue awake as she found him gradually forming flesh around his bones once again.

’This... he did it!! He really succeeded!!!’ looking at the gradually recovering body of the young man, the enigmatic beauty couldn’t help but feel extremely excited, disregarding the shock of someone achieving such a thing as she just felt relieved that he managed to come back from the brink of death like that.
