EX-Grade Ability Card: Tower Ascension with My Absolute Restoration
Chapter 91: Peerless Defense
CHAPTER 91: PEERLESS DEFENSE
Red streaks of lightning continuously flashing down, raining from the skies heading straight for the massive creature holding an entire island on its back, not a sound of thunder spreading on the air making this lightning peculiar, in exchange of such sound, a terrifying whistling explodes as if something in said lightning is tearing through the air.
Should a person unaware of what is currently happening in this place were to see such sight, they will definitely mistake it for the massive monster being punished by the heavens possibly for breaking the balance of the tower, possessing such power despite only being on the second floor.
With that speculation being wrong though, it wasn’t really all too far from the truth, given that what is happening right now is undeniably the tower sending in punishment for the creature, such punishment however, is indirect, a quest that is the only path for the ascenders of this floor to reach even higher levels in the tower.
Such quests are usually ones that requires immense effort from multiple talented people who already have a lot of experience in the floor they are challenging, not to mention effort, preparations that take hundreds of days as well, and even then, it is quite possible that such preparation will be all for naught should they commit one small mistake.
However, seeing a single person standing in front of such massive monster, seemingly possessing the upper hand in this fight given that the gigantic monstrosity couldn’t create a single opportunity to attack in front of the torrential barrage of weapons filled with murderous intent, most, if not all the other ascenders who came from Earth would dismiss such sight as nothing but illusion, or if they just heard such story from other, nothing but an exaggeration of the truth.
That would mean that they would be in for a massive surprise should they come to realize the authenticity of the sight, with the young man floating high in the air using the great sword beneath him as some sort of transportation is truly fighting on equal grounds against a monster that shouldn’t really be existing on the second floor of the Ethereal Tower to begin with, a monster that terrifies even the greatest of veterans who already surpassed the second floor of the tower.
"I heard it’s even a young one, how large are the adult Island Orcas then?" watching as each of the weapon he materializes using the Murderous Aura skill plunging into the epidermis, the outermost skin of the monster, its naturally rubbery yet tough property not doing any single thing to prevent the murderous intent filled weapons from plunging into the deeper parts of its flesh.
Blood flows and spews out like a fountain as the weapons plunging all across the Island Orca’s body disperses, removing anything that is restraining the blood from flowing out of its body from the holes it is now riddled with, the damages, albeit dismal, small at most, stacks up with number making the massive monster feel quite the pain.
And with said pain comes along a thunderous roar resound from the very monster that is the target of the second floor’s main quest, a roar that is not really something that comes from pain, but rather from annoyance, as if it just felt a fly roaming around its vicinity and making it uncomfortable.
It isn’t any normal roaring though, as the air around the monster’s mouth starts compressing, the water all around surging near the Island Orca’s mouth as the pressure drops all of a sudden, the compressed air not even turning stable for a few moments before it starts exploding radially, in all directions, forming a gale of wind that pushes everything away from itself.
All the flying, and even swimming monsters in the area starts to panic the moment that they heard such noise coming from the Island Orca, most, if not all of said lesser monsters’ first response being turning away from the direction where such roar comes out, before rushing away from its source without looking back, travelling as fast as they can in the hopes of not incurring the wrath of the ocean’s apex predator.
"Tsk tsk tsk... what a whiny little bitch..." feeling the surge of almost solid air slamming nearby, even Azrael himself, despite all his experience and strength already beyond the norms of what a second-floor ascender can achieve, still feels a little unstable standing on the great sword beneath his feet, this instability lasting only a single moment yet already more than enough to show how powerful this simple roar from the monster is.
’That roar is already more than enough to destroy fleets of ascenders who are trying to challenge this place, so... yeah, I should’ve known...’ as he starts deducing to himself based on the things that he observed from the short exchange between him and the Island Orca, the young man thought, pausing for a while before shaking his head, looking at the once wounds that was inflicted by his skill.
As much efficient of a tool the skill is in terms of piercing through the skin of the boss monster and leaving a significantly painful, possibly even dangerous wound given the nature of the Fog of Decay skill he infused along with the Murderous Aura skill, it still isn’t enough to leave a lasting damage on the Island Orca’s humongous body, making the young man smile wryly as he realizes that he will really need to use more skills than he wished he should in order to take down such monster.
Immortal Energy: 9,582/10,800
Looking at the diminishing amount of the Immortal Energy in his reserves, Azrael then decided to stop the barrage of materialized weapons and start on doing something that could possibly inflict more significant damage upon the boss monster’s body, a faint smile appearing on his face as he unsheathes the night black sword hanging on his waist from its scabbard, said sword letting out a shrill sound along with a rumble of excitement, as if it just saw a feast made for a sovereign waiting for it.
