Vernon, recognizing her, smiled.“Rosalind? Are you here for a vacation?”

Most people knew that Rosalind had ‘married into wealth,” and even Vernon’s first reaction was that she must be on holiday.

Rosalind smiled and shook her head.“No, I’m here for an interview.”

“Does your husband know?” Vernon asked, raising an eyebrow.

“I do what I want. He has no say in it,” she replied coolly.

Vernon chuckled. “You two had a fight, didn’t you?”

“No, not really. What about you, Vernon? Are you here for vacation?”

Vernon shrugged. “With the prices here? Not likely. There’s an academic conference in San Francisco, and the hotel’s hosting the delegates. I’m here to represent the school.”

    Rosalind nodded.“I see.”

“Well, it’s gettingte. I’d better not keep them waiting. I’m off now.”

    “Okay.”

After saying goodbye to Vernon, Rosalind was soon called into the interview.

She had done some research online about the hotel manager role, and she knew it would mostly focus onnguage skills, customer service, and, most importantly, personal image.

Rosalind already had the looks–a beautiful face, a slim waist, long neck, and fair skin, the kind of beauty that caught anyone’s eye.

She was always polite, her speech natural and engaging.

As fornguages, she had taught herself French and German in college, with some basic Spanish for daily conversation. She was a real “multitasker.”

By the end of the first three rounds of interviews, she had easily passed, outshining 90% of the candidates.

    Now, only three candidates remained.

One was a man, a graduate of an Ivy League school with a dazzling academic background, and his impressive credentials had kept him in the race until now.

The other was another young woman, wearing a revealing tank top and a mini skirt, exuding sex appeal.

Howeverb, /bRosalind overheard her speaking foreignnguages with a heavy ent, stumbling over her words.

She didn’t seem like a serious contender.

Rosalind wasn’t worried. There was no way the boss of a prestigious hotel would let “eye candy” with poornguage skills get the job, especially when they had a top–tier candidate like her.

A secretary dressed like a professional came out and smiled. “The results are in. Ms. Jennie Herrera has been hired. I’m sorry, Ms. Rosalind Johansen and Mr. Harvey Bradshaw, both of you are excellent, but we hope you find a job that suits you.”

Harvey was furious. “What is yourpany’s hiring standard? You don’t care about qualifications bor /bability, just the length of the skirt?”

The secretary politely smiled. “I’m sorry, Mr. Bradshaw. It was our boss who reviewed the interview videos and made the final decision. The boss has his reasons, and I’m just here to convey the message.”

“This kind of boss at Wesley Hotel will lead it to its downfall,” Harvey muttered angrily as he stormed out.

Jennie, however, was thrilled. She smiled and waved at Rosalind.“Sorry about that,” she said, sticking out her tongue yfully.

Rosalind stood up and addressed the secretary.“Sorry, but can you tell me why I wasn’t hired? Maybe some feedback for improvement?”

The secretary, impressed by Rosalind’s intelligence and beauty, had expected her to win. But… the boss’s decision was final.

She sighed.“Ms. Johansen, maybe… the boss has other considerations. I’m really sorry…”

    Her phone buzzed again.

Christopher’s message. “Rosalind, are you ying games with me?”
