Exile with Storage Space: Family Fortunes in the Barren Lands
Chapter 64: I Think She Understands
CHAPTER 64: CHAPTER 64: I THINK SHE UNDERSTANDS
Li Yuzhu laughed, "She’s just seven months old, how can she understand going to the market?"
Second Young Master Li said, "I think she knows very well, look, she’s smiling."
Li Yuzhu was speechless; when doesn’t Li Guoguo smile?
"Anyway, I’m not going; I’m busy." Li Yuzhu took Li Guoguo, placing her in the basket to sit.
The little niece was exactly seven months old today and could sit a little.
After placing her in the basket, she happily laughed and babbled.
Xue Family raised her eyebrow, "This basket is really ugly, is it fitting for my daughter?"
Li Yuzhu lifted the basket and tried to hang it on Xue Family’s shoulder, "Sister-in-law, this is specially for carrying little babies; it’s more comfortable than holding them."
"I don’t want to carry it." Xue Family thought carrying a child like this looked ugly and repeatedly dodged.
Li Yuzhu said unceremoniously, "In a while, everyone will be working, and there’ll be no one to help with Guoguo."
"If you don’t carry your own child, who will?" Princess Consort turned around and said sternly.
Xue Family feared her mother-in-law and didn’t dare to talk back, so she obediently carried her.
After carrying for a few steps, Xue Family didn’t mind the basket anymore.
To be honest, it felt as if there wasn’t a child on her at all; walking was very easy.
Unknowingly, everyone reached the foot of the mountain.
"We’re here." Li Yuzhu ran ahead first.
The Great Princess was worried her room would be built crookedly, and ran faster than Li Yuzhu.
The Second Princess always followed her; wherever the Great Princess went, the Second Princess followed.
The location of each room was planned a long time ago.
This time, the house wasn’t built yet; only the foundation was dug. Currently, they were splitting bamboo into pieces, embedding them into the foundation pit to make walls.
The three members of the Liu Family had already arrived and were busy splitting bamboo.
The Princely Heir stepped forward to greet, "Old Liu, you came early."
Liu the bricklayer laughed and said, "We’ve delayed you many hours; we dared not be late."
Prince Luling walked to the foundation to inspect; the pit was dug rather deep, with straight walls, indicating the work was done finely.
He nodded in satisfaction.
The Princely Heir then said, "Old Liu, today our whole family comes to help; just tell us what work we can do?"
In the previous days, the Liu Family had issues and couldn’t fully devote themselves to work. He only brought two younger brothers and his third sister, Li Yuzhu, to help dig the foundation; others hadn’t come down the mountain.
Now, matters with the Liu Family were settled, and they could boost efforts to build the house.
The third sister also reminded him, having family members involved in building ensures quality and can save some labor cost.
It’s certainly a good thing for the house to be built early, but not just anyone can do the work.
Liu the bricklayer thought for a moment and said, "If you want to help, carry things over; we can do it faster. Bring the big bamboo from over there and move these split bamboo pieces to the foundation pit."
"Alright." The Princely Heir replied, turning to give instructions to everyone.
Prince Luling and his wife certainly wouldn’t do the work themselves; these two cared about their image.
They were in charge of supervision.
Xue Family played with the child.
The terrain at the mountain foot was much flatter than the forest up the mountain. Two-year-old Li Jing ran happily, occasionally catching a butterfly or picking a flower.
Xue Family placed the basket with Li Guoguo on the ground and sat on a stone watching Li Jing play.
Everyone else participated in moving bamboo pieces.
By the second round, the Great Princess started yelling, "My hand!"
She clutched her right hand with her left and burst into tears.
Everyone went to see her.
