CHAPTER 66: CHAPTER 066 MANY RABBITS
Everyone else also put down their work and walked towards the Xue Family.
Even the Liu father and son asked with concern what was going on.
The Princely Heir called out Li Jing’s name loudly, but there was no response.
He worriedly started searching.
"Brother, don’t worry, we’ll look together." The Second Young Master and Third Young Master followed along.
Xue Family looked bewildered, "I, I, I... I just glanced at Guoguo, and when I turned my head, Jingjing was gone. How can I watch two children myself?"
By the end, she sounded oddly confident.
The Princess Consort was so frustrated with her that she got a headache.
"Why are you watching Guoguo? Guoguo can’t walk or crawl! She’s sitting in the basket and won’t come out, just watch Jingjing! He can run!"
"Couldn’t you watch one of the children since you’re not working?" Xue Family muttered quietly.
But the Princess Consort still overheard her.
"If I watch the children, what will you do?"
"Mother is inspecting the foundation, how can you say she’s doing nothing?" The Great Princess sneered, "There are pits and bamboo there, how can you walk with a child? What if you fall?"
"That’s right, Sister-in-law, you shouldn’t speak like that about mother." The Second Princess nodded as well.
"I said I wouldn’t come, but you insisted, and now that Jingjing is lost, you’re blaming me." Xue Family started muttering again.
"There’re only trees up the mountain and nowhere to play, bringing him to run and play at the foot of the mountain is wrong?" The Princess Consort was infuriated.
"Oh, stop arguing, it’s important to find him quickly!" Prince Luling hated family arguments.
"Found him!" Li Yuzhu shouted from a patch of wild grass ahead.
When Li Jing was discovered missing, Li Yuzhu also became anxious.
The child is small, and there is waist-high wild grass all around; he most likely ran into the grass to play.
She was distressed, not knowing which direction to search, when Li Guoguo suddenly looked at a place and babbled.
She glanced at her, then at the direction, looking very anxious.
Curious, Li Yuzhu walked in the direction Li Guoguo was indicating.
It wasn’t long before she saw a child sleeping in the grass; who else could it be but Li Jing?
Besides Li Jing, there were six newborn rabbits in a nest in the grass ahead.
Everyone heard her voice and rushed over.
The Princely Heir lovingly picked up his son.
Li Jing was so sleepy that he mumbled, "Rabbits, so many rabbits," his little head drooped on the Princely Heir’s shoulder and he fell asleep again.
Everyone was bemused.
"Rabbits!" Li Xing’an saw the rabbit nest, rubbed his hands excitedly, and shouted repeatedly to Second Young Master Li Xingsheng, "Old second, quickly bring that basket for wild vegetables."
"Coming, coming." Second Young Master Li Xingsheng ran over with the basket and put the six little rabbits inside.
"Second Brother, Third Brother, be careful, these rabbits were just born recently, they’re very delicate." Li Yuzhu reminded them.
"Got it, they’re treasures."
Now that the child was found, along with a nest of little rabbits, the Princess Consort didn’t continue to scold Xue Family.
Xue Family’s eyes lit up upon seeing the rabbits, "We’ve grown tired of leopard meat already, let’s have rabbit meat today?"
Liu the bricklayer came over to see the rabbits, sighed and said, "It’s a pity to eat them, these are rare white rabbits, Mr. Chai from the village market is buying white rabbits everywhere, and I hear he’s offering a good price."
"These rabbits are too small, one would only make a bowl, with so many in our family, it’s not enough to go around." The Second Princess sighed.
