The plump-faced servant was in such pain that tears came to his eyes.

"She ran, I’m looking for her!"

"You’re still looking?" Yuanxiu delivered another punch, this time hitting the nose.

The servant screamed.

The plump-faced servant covered his face and quickly ran away.

Yuanxiu didn’t respond, but grabbed her legs and lifted her up onto his back.

Startled, she quickly picked up her basket and placed her hands on his shoulders.

Yuanxiu steadily carried her, walking in large strides out of the woods.

"The woods around here are denser than other places, with more snakes, insects, and wild beasts. Don’t come here alone," he said, softening his tone after a backward glance.

Li Yuzhu looked at him, "Do we know each other well? Why do I see you everywhere I go?"
